I recently witnessed something at Commonwealth Churchland House that really stuck with me a resident who seemed disoriented and in need of comfort was in the hallway. The Resident Care Director came out, calmly reassured her, and gently guided her back to her room. The compassion in her voice and the way she treated that resident was genuinely moving. It didn’t feel clinical”it felt personal, like she was caring for one of her own loved ones. That moment really reflects what stands out overall”the sense of community. Residents seem comfortable and at home, the building is clean and welcoming, and the staff are attentive and engaged. What also impressed me was the leadership I’ve personally seen the administrator roll up his sleeves and handle plumbing issues just to keep things running smoothly. That kind of ownership and care isn’t something you see everywhere.

My wife and I moved my father into Churchland House last year. I had concerns about my father's memory issues, but after speaking at length with the Executive Director, Luke Peterson, I felt much more confident about our decision. Luke and his team have been absolutely phenomenal and have put our minds at ease. I can sleep well at night knowing my Dad is in good hands with the folks at Commonwealth!

I’ve worked with multiple senior living communities, yet the team at Commonwealth Senior Living at Churchland House specifically stands out. It’s rare to find a management team that is this easy to deal with while staying so focused on the residents. Huge shoutout to the Executive Director, Luke Peterson. He’s incredibly down-to-earth and gets things done. He’s involved, he’s accessible, and he genuinely cares about the culture of the building. What a great place if someone you know needs Senior Living Care. While my friend Ms. Nancy was only there four months, I can truly say that everyone who was involved in her care was excellent and the place is very clean and bright and attractive! They handled everything with skill and grace! My dad was a resident at Churchland House and loved it there. He started out in Assisted Living and eventually moved to the Dementia Unit. It is a clean, beautiful place with great care and love given to residents. Well managed and loving staff.

My interaction with the management and staff at Churchland House has been positive. Christel assisted us in placing mom when, practically overnight, we found ourselves in a desperate situation. The management team has been extremely helpful in the transition and MANY of the staff and care team members have made concerted efforts to welcome and embrace mom in her day to day activities, regardless of the type of day she is having. The past few months were overwhelming and this crew (way too many people to name) provided a safe landing spot for mom. Assisted living is a tough process to navigate; I am extremely appreciative of this supportive community.

During the last two years of my mother's life, she lived at Commonwealth Senior Living Churchland House. The facility offers a pleasant, warm, inviting, family feeling. Everyone makes you feel at home, and the residents have as much autonomy as possible. My family was encouraged to be involved and visit often, which we did. We all felt like part of the Churchland House family. Multiple activities and events each day keep the residents active and engaged. My mother came out of her shell and had a lot of fun! The food is varied and delicious, with staff making efforts to please as well as meet dietary needs. Many worked hard to perfect recipes that would be pleasing to the residents. The staff as a whole is amazing! Many of my mother's caregivers were long-term employees who developed a deep and meaningful relationship with her, and our family members who would visit. They were with us on normal days and when things got difficult, were a great source of comfort for me and my family. The staff went above and beyond to help and comfort. Of special note, the daily care provided for my mother by Selena, Felita, Tameka, Miranda, Zoe and Shay was above and beyond expectations. Each of these ladies brought their wisdom and heart to their work and made our time at Churchland House truly a wonderful experience.

Nice facility, but the carpet in the clients rooms are filthy. Staff members need to be more sensitive to the needs of the clients that live there. We all will get old if God gives us the grace to have long life, but no one deserve to be mistreated, and especially not in there old age. Leadership needs to be more stern and attentive of its caregivers and get them to be more caring and more considerate of their clients.

My mom lived at Churchland House for over two years eventually transitioning into memory care. Our experience was excellent and the staff extremely kind and caring. I felt like the whole team got to know our family and worked with us to keep my mom safe and happy. The facilities were always in excellent shape and there were always programs available to keep mom engaged.

Although my mom was only at CSL Churchland House for a short time (came there compromised after neglect at another facility), I found the staff to be caring, friendly and competent. I was at peace during her stay there. Both administrative staff and direct care personnel were professional and courteous. I would have started with care there had I known about this location. For some reason A Place for Mom did not recommend/refer them, and I should have done a more thorough search myself. I strongly recommend this community and encourage others seeking help for their loved ones to visit as many places as possible before making a decision of this magnitude.

Mom has been there 2 months and toilet is still leaking, visited her two weeks ago and she was in the bed at 5pm and soaking wet with urine, staff acknowledged her needing to be changed, but left me to change my mom and change her linen, I am very unhappy with my decision, looking for better care than she is receiving for

My mom has been a resident here for almost a month, and I am thoroughly pleased with the care she receives, the facility and the staff. She was at another facility (not affiliated with Commonwealth Senior Living at Churchland House), and it was horrible. I am so glad that we moved her here and would highly recommend this facility to anyone looking for a wonderful place for your loved one to live. They make sure the residents are taken good care of.

I have visited many different folks there and continue to be impressed with ALL the staff and personal! Meals are wonderfully prepared whether you visit with friends to talk while eating or have a tray in your room. Lots of different menu items but it all smells great and very little is ever wasted! I have already told my husband that this is where I would like to be living if I need more than can be provided at home!! Having worked in elder care for 10+ years I am impressed with the clean, friendly atmosphere that strives to make everyone feel right at home!! Lots of special programs keep residents active and engaged if they are interested. Commonwealth Senior Living is one of the best in the area - AND yet another dear friend has moved to this facility!!! Rejoicing that she will is so much closer to family and friends in 'my favorite home-away-from home'!!! 5 /5

Churchland House is a wonderful nursing home. It is a smaller place that is decorated beautifully and has many of the comforts of home. They have amazing patio areas to enjoy the outside and kind staff.

I am a local pastor; the mother of one of my parishioners lives at Churchland House. I was warmly greeted upon arrival. I appreciate the health and security policies and procedures. Once I arrived at the patient's room, a staff chaplain was there sharing scripture and praying with her. Churchland House's commitment to wholistic wellness is evident and impressive!

Had a great visit with the exception of the day supervisor. She was unprofessional in her tone, word and demeanor. She made a minor situation that occurred worse. The remainder of the staff were excellent and really made the visit pleasant and enjoyable for me. I really appreciated them. The housekeeper was also great.

It is nice how the staff treated my uncle. They talked to him. They helped him whenever he needed help. There have been difficult times, but the staff responded well. There was one downfall. The place is lacking security in the building. There were items missing that meant a lot him. He had some items that were not returned to him. I regret to inform you that he wants to leave this after his wife passed. Please, consider adding security in the building. Thank you.

My Dad moved in 3 months ago and is thriving. He is well cared for, the staff is very kind and the Executive Director really cares for the residents. They have a wonderful family night once a month. The food is very good and the music is festive for the occasion.

My church members and I visit a number of these facilities where some members now reside and I would rate this one at the top for cleanliness and friendliness. Churchland House was my Mom's other family when my husband and I needed to get away for respite. (for her AND for us) From Ladonna at the front desk....to April the Admissions Director and the warm welcoming staff that attended to her every need. Every year when they saw her arrive, they would gather round and hug her and swoop her away. We never had to worry about her when we went on vacation. Thank you to ALL at Churchland house. My Mom passed away Oct 23, 2020 at the age of 99.......and is STILL sorely missed.

Very clean, very calm atmosphere. And an absolute joy and pleasure to be greeted by Miss. Mack every time I come in. She is always in a upbeat mood with a smile in her eyes (mask blocking the whole expression of course) for everyone. Remembers faces and never fails to wish you a great and safe day.

My mother moved in this facility 1 month ago. The med tech and aids are absolutely wonderful however way too often they are working alone with no help leaving 1 med tech and 1 aid for approximately 30 residents. The facility itself is very nice and clean. The employees are all so nice!
