This place is rather pathetic I have to say!! It is 5:11, dinner time, & the dining staff is just coming out of the kitchen with the appetizers! Dinner is supposed to begin at 5:00! The clients have just been sitting here looking around & at each other as if to say what's going on?!?! The first dinner plate was just served @5:23, but then the server disappeared back into the kitchen, SMH..But my main issue is with the staff!! Most are unfriendly & rude Most will not even speak to you! These people are supposed to be grown professional adults!! Most of them seem to hate their jobs, & move as slow as snails!! They always seem lost as if they don't know what is going on or what to do! & Then you have those on their phone when they should be feeding a client! There are at least 4 good aides that I am aware of, so kudos to them! Speaking of snails, the med techs are slowwww...& barely speak. The facility itself is nice, but they need to hire a HOUSEKEEPING staff like back in the good old days!! (80s, 90s)... Speaking of the good ole days, the music that they play in the dining hall Is nice. But if you have a loved one in here, you need to visit as often as you can!

Our visit to the Pearl was AWESOME! The management team met with us after we got to see the community and answered every question we asked. We got to dine in their private dining area and were welcomed by some residents as well. It was nice to see family members and residents telling us how they enjoyed being there. During our visit, 1 of the employees was being honored with a prestigious award. There was even a film crew setup to interview family members that were present to celebrate with her. That was all it took!! Each employee we came in contact with were very attentive. This is not your typical memory care building. A special thank you to Ashley and Trevor. We move in next week!

Our family toured The Pearl last week and we were amazed at how welcome we felt. The marketer, Trevor, was kind and so informative. The staff welcomed us and each seemed to have information to give about their departments. We were impressed with the number of certified dementia practitioners and how staff are trained using Teepa Snow. We spent a great deal of time visiting multiple facilities and meeting with marketers and directors. The Pearl felt like home! The activities department was busy with residents and we loved that the staff interacted with residents and their visitors. We lucked in to meeting the nurse practitioner who works and campus. It was comforting to know residents are allowed to age in place and can continue on hospice, with nurse practitioners and doctors that are already familiar with them! The cost is all about the same once you realize the deals are short term at comparable communities. Moving in to a community that is prepared and obviously equipped, is such a breath of fresh air after what we’ve been through! Thank you for making our transition into the community seamless and streamlined.

If I could give the Pearl a negative rating, I would. The level of "care" was a joke, as they prefer being on their phones instead of caring for residents. Make sure you've got plenty of time to visit your loved one, because otherwise, they'll be neglected. Obviously, my experience there was horrible - for me, and for my loved one. My heart rate skyrockets every time I think about that place, and I can't even drive by there anymore.

I have to say I was very impressed with the care that my loved one received at this community. While the community may have had some turn-over with their staffing, I have found that it is for the better. With change always comes someone that does not like when management holds people accountable. I appreciate the dedication of staff to making sure that our loved ones are showered and fed. The community was always clean and smelled nice, which is to the contrary at most other buildings. I believe that the staff genuinely care. I typically find negative reviews beneficial. However, I can tell that the poor ones are obviously from jilted employees who were probably holding The Pearl hostage with employment demands. I believe in promoting business and word-of-mouth is the best kind of advertisement. However, being honest typically serves you better in the long run! I am thankful that my Gran had such a quality experience! I would definitely recommend The Pearl to anyone looking for staff that are well-trained and that truly care about their residents!

This facility is a rare find! When I talked to the Aministrator about moving my husband to the Pearl, she promised that they would love him as if he were their own loved one and that they would consider our family as theirs. These were not idle words, as I had heard before. I come everyday to the facility and constantly watch the entire staff, even down to the maintenance crew as they pass through the hallways, helping and loving the residents. After being there for only a month, my husband was diagnosed with terminal cancer. When I brought my husband back to the facility from the hospital, I was met with compassionate and loving arms and reassured that they would see us through. I feel so loved, and know they truly care! They offer support for the spouses of their residents, which is a tremendous help. Because of the programs they have in place, my husband has spoken more in 3 months there (because of the buddy system), than in the last 3 years combined. The nursing care is top notch! They have been keeping his pain under control and they make sure that the staff handles him with care during transports from wheelchair to bed, using two CNAs to keep from causing him unnecessary pain. They put up with a lot of abuse from the residents due to their Alheizmer's/dementia conditions, and I am amazed at how kind and tolerant they are, and how professional they handle these situations. There are not enough stars to rate how wonderful this facility is. It is comforting to me to know that my husband's last days will be filled wih happiness from his buddies, and the love and expert care of each staff member here at the Pearl, which we consider home!

This was an amazing community when I placed my mom in November 2018. Moved her in the day the doors opened. The corporate employees made their presence known and truly made you feel that they had only the best in place for your loved one and your family. This remained true with daily activities inside and out for the residents, monthly family dinners etc... Six months in the changes started, Executive Directors, Directors of Nursing and Activites Directors etc.... all just gone in a matter of weeks with no notice and no explanations to the families. This has continued to be the pattern even now almost three years later. Communication from the corporate office is non existent. This facility was without an Executive Director for months during COVID-19 with no letters, emails or calls from corporate. Families were left in the dark about the care of residents, only being able determine their health by window visits if that was possible. My mother passed recently and at that time there is a temporary Executive Director from another facility at The Pearl until someone is hired. Also, again there is not a Director of Nursing. This is Executive Director number five or six in less than three years. It all comes back to lack of involvement from the corporate higher ups. Honestly if they followed through with what they promote this would and has been a wonderful community. At this time I can't in good conciseness recommend these people to care for anyone's loved one living with Dementia or Alzheimer's. I could go on more but will just say check out the Chesterfield County Department of Social Services site for complaints and violations for this business. I spent the last few months of mother's life feeling that she was just a guaranteed $6000 a month.

My elderly mother recently spent two weeks of respite care at The Pearl following five weeks of rehab for a femur fracture. The Pearl is new and sparkling clean. The facility is attractively decorated and even provides a large private dining room if you want to hold a family event there (which we did). The staff is friendly, attentive, and kind. Moms needs were cared for in a kind and timely fashion. They accommodated for her individual circumstances as they helped her get over a hurdle and be able to come home. If a loved one is in need of Memory Care, I would highly recommend The Pearl.

My mother recently spent two weeks of respite care at The Pearl following five weeks of rehab for a fractured femur. It was a good experience for her. The facility is beautifully decorated and impeccably kept. It smells fresh and clean. The staff is friendly, attentive, and kind. My mothers individual needs were graciously accommodated which helped move her forward in her healing and enable her to come home. The Pearl even has a spacious private dining room for you to hold family events (which we did). If you need memory care for a loved one, I highly recommend the Pearl.
