I have had the pleasure of working with this building as a vendor. As someone who has worked in memory care I felt the need to say how impressed I am with this community. Arden Courts is a great inclusive community for all stages of memory care. The activities department really engages and stimulates residents. They also really work to include families by regularly having family events. The community itself is set up perfectly for memory care, with lots of space and fun themed rooms. Plus a beautiful courtyard. The management team is fantastic and they really know and care about their residents. The floor clinical staff do a fantastic job as well. It is a joy to work with the staff and to be able to see them provide their residents with stimulation and excellent care.

I had a tour of this facility earlier this year and was impressed. There are unique amenities for the residents like a coffee shop, general store, therapy cats, and lots of activities. The place is clean and the staff are friendly. The director, Melissa, genuinely cares about the residents and helping them to have the best experience during their stay at Arden Courts.

Let me first start by saying , no facility is perfect. My dad was admitted to Arden Courts in June 2024 after a broken hip that occurred at his previous Asst living facility. My dad received wonderful care from the staff along with OT and PT. Kelly and Jacob were fabulous ! The activities director is very talented in creativity for the residents. I joined in at times and had a blast with dad and the other residents. The reason 4 star instead of 5 star is because 50 % of the time the food was horrible. I took dad food time to time so he would eat. Also, in September, just 3 months after being admitted I received a letter that his rent was going up to $1200 per month, ( yes, per month) I notified AC that dad was leaving in 30 days, I was told 2 days later by Melissa his rent would stay as is if I wanted him to stay. I was moving dad anyway because he recovered to the point he no longer needed memory care and 24 hour supervision. Glory!! I feel that the only thing that our older generation looks forward to is a good meal and fellowship. I like to think that AC in the near future would give more attention to the quality of the food they serve to the residents.

I can't say enough positive things about Arden Courts! The Administration and staff here are top notch professionals who are caring and supportive. I am always greeted with smiles and a genuine kindness. The activities here for the residents are beyond what Ive seen in other memory cares. The activities Director spends a lot of time using her talents to make every event so special and unique to the residents. This secure memory care facility is located in the esteemed Midlothian area and its one of the best communities in the area. Set up like a small town, the residents get a lot of visual stimulation with their environment. Melissa, the director is very much about quality and care and loves their residents dearly. The facility is always clean, and the staff seems very genuine and caring. If you're looking for a safe, clean memory care with plenty of activities, I'd highly recommend Arden Courts.

My grandmother is a resident at Arden Courts. I haven't actually been to the facility until last weekend. I've never seen something so cute and precious in my life. She was having a private birthday party and everyone there made it so special for her. I'm truly touched. We had an issue about other residents coming in and it was hard because you don't know what to say but the front desk lady went out of her way to help us and the way she spoke to the older people was so kind and funny. She really cares about these people and it shows. My dad said she's always so kind and really attentive to the family. The loved ones like talking to her because she truly cares. If you need a Memory Care place in Virginia, I definitely recommend this place. 5 stars. Thank you guys for all you do here. It truly makes the family feel at ease knowing they are in fully capable and caring hands.

The web site description and pictures are great but in person I was amazed at how friendly the staff was, how clean it was and so many activities. The head chef was preparing Chicken and fresh vegetables etc. She is a true chef. The people living there all seemed pleased to be there.

Beautiful beautiful place to send your loved ones with Dementia or Alzheimer's. The amount of love crafted into building this place is amazing! Everyone working here goes out of their way. The residents have this little town that they live in with a tavern, movie theatre, icecream palor, outside courtyard with gardening clubs. Veterans clubs, bird watching, painting, arts and crafts, outings, canal cruises, live music, and so on. Truly truly wonderful.

I went to tour this place yesterday and I can't believe how cool it is inside. It's a like a village in there! I can see why dad likes it there so much. All of the staff is incredible! They are very comfortable with eachother there. It's like a big family. It is a family! They always have cool stuff they can do and really treat the residents there with kindness and love. We had to put dad somewhere when he started getting bad, and it tore us up inside. But since he came here, the whole family sleeps better at night knowing he is safe and cared for. They always have a nurse on staff and they notify us immediately if anything happens. You have to see it to appreciate it. They have an open house coming soon.

I toured multiple communities in the Richmond area for my 73 year old father who had Parkinsonian dementia. Nothing compared to this community for his high functioning/walking needs. I was so overwhelmed with how great they were, I cried at the initial tour as I knew it would be the best fit for him. (I knew it would be great when the receptionist, Steven, was the kindest most loving presence on the phone). The center of the community is set up as a small town (pub, movie theater, Carytown ice cream). Every. Single. Person you meet there is lovely. From the front line staff to the department heads. My experience with Eboney (sales director) and her ability to move my dad into the community in a quick timeframe was imperative to getting him settled and it meant ALL the difference. Her demeanor was above and beyond. We were also highly impressed with their Director of Nursing, Brittney - she was so professional but also charismatic, understanding, responsive, and met my dad RIGHT where he was in his disease process - she truly made his transition from home to the community a one-of-a-kind experience. We were also impressed with the frontline teams compassion and support of dad and our family in the transition process and his time at the community. I highly recommend Arden Courts for anyone looking in the Midlothian area for their memory impaired loved ones. You won't be disappointed with this dedicated team of caring professionals.

I have a family member here, and I must say this place is absolutely amazing! The girl at the front desk Krystal, truly goes out of her way to help each visitor feel welcomed. The HR guy Steven is a delight to talk to and super helpful. I only breifly spoke to the nurses and caregivers but you can tell how much they love the residents, even when nobody is around. They all make it so easy to bring in our pets and kids, and just answer ANY questions I have. They have programming all day so that everyone is engaged. They have made this place a town and an all exclusive Resort basically. The Director Melissa is engaged with every person, staff, resident or family. I walked in one day last week and they had a singer there and Melissa was dancing with the residents! Truly truly touched my heart. Ebony the marketing gal was very respectful and professional when trying to sell us. She wasn't pushy at all! She knew this place truly sells itself so she was very accommodating to our family. Come see this place. It will truly melt your heart. 5 stars!

See Nov 2020 update to follow Aug 2020 Review: Complete change of administration, Aug 2020. As of Oct 2020, if your family member declines, you will only be able to see them when they are a few days away from end of life. Hopefully TMC will reconsider this unethical practice of protectionism - your family member may be covid free, but alone while cognizant, even 8 months into the pandemic... Christine, BSN, RN, CCRN. Addendum: Prior to Aug., this organization was nothing short of 5 stars. Appreciate the attentiveness from Kevin DiBona and consideration for visitation on case by case basis. Perhaps a quantitative metric could be used to trigger in- person visitation for residents who are beginning the end of life process. Incorrect use of PPE is what will place residents at risk, not the mere fact of visitation itself. Up to this point, COVID-19 has been transmitted in general by staff to residents since there has been no in-person visitation. Hopefully the public will realize the probability is significantly lower to acquire covid with correct wearing of PPE. Covid is not going anywhere. We have to learn to live with it and stop creating more harm by fear . Addendum: Nov 27, 2020 TMC has adjusted well. Kevin DiBona, CEO-owner, has been a tremendous help in listening to all of his stakeholders regarding the needs of the residents.He is supportive with finding safe and innovative means to maintain the quality of life for them. The admin and expanding staff at Midlo TMC have also been accommodating, to the best of their ability, by communicating with families during this pandemic. Highly recommend the on-site Legacy Rehab team, the Activities Director, and wonderful nursing staff.

The leadership and staff at the Richmond location are amazing! They really care about their residents and try their best to do right by them, and not to mention... The facility is beautiful! It really takes away the stigma that an Alzheimers or dementia patient has to be in a locked facility. Here they can roam around as much as and how often they want (securely) without feeling restricted or like a caged animal. TMC Richmond is doing it right!

The staff was always compassionate, respectful, and loving when they cared for our mother, grandmother and friend, Louise while she was a resident at The Memory Center. At first, there was some apprehension on her part and ours about moving, but in no time at all, we came to think of TMC as part of our family. The services they provide are challenging. Not everyone is cut out for that line of work, but we would like to commend The Memory Center for putting together a staff to be extremely proud of! We were blessed to have received such excellent care from their family; the sincere kindness shown to our mother-grandmother and our family was so welcoming. There was a time when Louise wasnt sleeping and the staff all took turns lying in the bed with her to get her to rest. TMC went above and beyond every step of the way with our loved one. In addition to their stellar employees, the physical building is outstanding. The town center is such a wonderful concept and really adds to the open, airy feel when you walk in the door. Louises room was clean, spacious, comfortable, warm and inviting. It was sanitary and had all of the necessary equipment without being cold and hospital-like. The common area in her neighborhood was well used, and we enjoyed seeing the residents watching movies together in their pajamas at night. When Louise started eating less they found creative ways to get her to eat. If I was there during mealtime, I was always asked to join her. The food was always appetizing. I can attest that other facilities around the area, have some questionable food options. TMC made this difficult time so much easier. Their kindness, compassion, and genuine concern for Louise and for our family during her final days will never be forgotten.
