My mother has been at Bentley Commons for about a month and we have been very pleased with our choice. Everyone has been so kind and encouraging in helping mom with the transition to assisted living. The facility is very clean, the food is very good and all the staff know her on a first name basis. Whenever we have a question or need everyone responds in a prompt and truly caring manner. We feel very blessed that she is in such a loving and compassionate environment.

Absolutely beautiful facility! I love the large rooms and openness along with beautiful outdoor views. I had an amazing tour and saw lots of smiling workers, which is important in my decision. Great job Shannon and Kristi, keep up the good work.

After a great tour of the facility from Kristi, we moved my mom and her husband into Bentley Commons in late December. The place is very clean , the food is great, and the CNAs and nurses are fantastic to my mom. We feel like she is finally safe and well taken care of.

My wife and I checked out several other facilities, when we walked in for a tour, I knew I wanted to live here. We moved in on July 1, 2024. I love it here. I find the food to be very good, be it on the scheduled menu, or the options available. Just my personal opinion.

My sister in law has received outstanding care while at Bentley Commons. The staff is always helpful, friendly, courteous, and caring. My sister in law has required some specialized care and has received that care with concern and professionalism. It is always a pleasure to deal with everyone from administration to housekeeping. It is a nice, clean senior community with competitive pricing. I would recommend this community to anyone with loved ones needing additional care.

I have seen great improvement within the last year. Mom and the residents I talk to seem much happier and staff much more attentive. Dinning room has greatly improved. I would recommend Bentley as a safe and comfortable place to be.

Please, please never send your loved one here - this place has issues with dispensing meds, following doctor directives, sending the correct information/list of meds to the ER and blames the RESIDENT for staff getting injured during transfers. The aides work very hard, but the turnover of staff makes their job even harder. On the weekends they are lucky to have 2 aides to take care of 75 residents - often leaving a loved one stuck in their bed covered in urine & feces until 10:30 in the morning. No one notices if they are missing from breakfast - still stuck in their bed. We have moved our loved one out of the Bentley Commons - and hope and pray that no one’s loved one should ever have to put through the pain and suffering we endured.

My brother has been living at Bentley Commons for 5 months. We are pleased with the choice our family has made for him. Staff members know his name, are kind, helpful, and responsive. The atmosphere is warm and friendly and the facility is recently renovated. He enjoys eating meals with independent and assisted living residents together. As both of my in-laws’ health declined rapidly last year, we had no choice but to move them into assisted living as they were no longer able to safely live on their own. From the moment we walked in to Bentley Commons our family has felt welcomed and loved. We moved them in on October 2, 2023, and sadly my mother-in-law passed away about two weeks later. During that time the staff went above and beyond to let us know they cared about our family. My husband often says how he wishes we’d moved them in sooner because his mom would have loved it there! I have worked in healthcare for over twenty years and, until Bentley Commons, have never seen a facility whose entire staff seems to genuinely enjoy their job. Every staff member seems to know every resident by name and engages with them at every opportunity. They provide excellent medical care while also fostering a community in which the residents feel welcomed and valued. My father-in-law is thriving again and our family is so thankful for Bentley Commons!

My mom has been living here for 2 months and Bentley is a safe place for her where she is taken care of. He apartment is cleaned once a week and she enjoys socializing with the other residents. I recommend Bentley for your elderly loved one. They have independent living and assisted living.

Bentley Commons feels like home as soon as you walk in the door. From the residents welcoming you at the front entrance while soaking in the sun to the fun social groups and activities to the loving staff who take care of the residents. I would 100% let my mom or grandma live here and feel comfortable in knowing they will be well taken care of. Their Director of Nursing, Megan, is both knowledgeable and caring which is hard to find these days! If you are looking for home for your loved one definitely stop by Bentley Commons for a tour.

I recently toured Bentley Commons as part of my job as a healthcare sales rep. I am new to the Lynchburg area and did not have much information on this community other than a brochure that I picked up at a doctors office. I've been in healthcare sales for many years and subsequently spent a lot of time in assisted living facilities...Bentley Commons sets the bar for ALF's in Lynchburg. Sure, there are other ALF's that have installed shiny features to distract you from the bad food, others that have applications with exclusion requirements longer than the constitution and name themselves after places in other countries. At Bentley Commons, you can feel the love and pride of the Lynchburg community. Thoughtful, consistent, safe.

Nope. If your loved one needs assistance, do not go there. If you want the staff to sufficiently and correctly communicate with you, don't go there. 5 years experience of assisted living for my mom -4 yrs at Bentley and over a year at another facility in Bedford. The SYSTEM is BROKEN across the board.

This review is based on my experience with Padishia only, not the facility which wouldn’t get 5 stars. Padishia is professional, caring, quick to respond, and great with my parents. She is a huge asset for Bentleys which helps offset some of the problems.

Several months ago (May, 2022) my 94-year old father finally agreed to cease living alone and come to Lynchburg to reside in an independent living facility. My brother and I searched very closely, and presented my father with several options. Although I had previous knowledge about Bentley Commons, I left the decision to him. My father strongly selected BC over all of the other options. Among the factors were the professional manner and attention to details shown by BC's staff, esp. Padishia Logan, the Director of Community Relations. Our many questions were answered, and BC made every effort to help us complete the process quickly. We could not have asked more from Ms. Logan or the other staff. In addition, we found the physical facilities to be very pleasant and accommodating. My father is visually impaired, but the lighting, colors, and architecture enable him to function independently. The staff is very friendly, and have made an effort to get to know us. They have been very helpful when we have special needs (that are minor, but needed.) They keep the public areas clean, and the residents' laundry facilities are very nice. The food is plentiful, varied, and tasty. The dining room is pleasant and well-lit. We felt the price for independent living was quite reasonable. I am usually reluctant to give 5 stars, but Ms. Logan, the other staff, and the facility at Bentley Commons have earned them.

Bentley Commons is an incredible community full of wonderful residents and great, caring staff. Daily activities lead by an amazing Activities Director, delicious food handmade by the chef, and a beautiful building kept clean by hardworking staff. Management is always available and quick to address concerns. Nursing staff cares about residents and responds quickly to needs. Best community in town!

Bentley Commons is a beautiful facility with a friendly staff. The Director of Community Relations, Padishia, was extremely communicative and helpful throughout the enrollment process. I love their concept of aging in place -- the level of care can change depending on needs, but the residents stay in the same apartment. If you are considering a senior living community, Bentley Commons is certainly worth a look.

Communication with families is poor, they won't take volunteers, doctor omstead and nursing staff don't keep you informed even with medical proxy but book monthly blood work etc. Staff is friendly but they need more help. When my mother in law was sick the lunch was a sweet potato green beans and dry roll .....she weighs 80lbs so a protein would have been nice . I made soup so that day was fixed. Staff turn over is Hugh including admin staff but my mother in law lives it there

I have always enjoyed doing business with Bentley Commons everyone is so friendly and professional. I have a friend who recently moved to the community too! it is such a nice senior community in our area! I would recommend to anyone looking to downsize or have more community than living alone!

I just moved my mom in there and am very pleased with the help I received when she moved in. They are friendly and helped me get all the paperwork for my mom in and kept me informed of the process the whole time. It is very clean and have activities for them and the apartments are nice size. I would recommend this place if your looking to put a parent there for them to enjoy their senior years in a nice environment with activities to keep them busy and meet new people.

Great partnership between our family and Bentley Commons for my father-in-law as he wanted to maintain his independence, but needed help with meals and medications. Beautiful facility, caring and engaging staff, willing to work with us on his very limited diet (his pickiness), plenty of activities & outings that interested the residents.
