Gloucester House has been wonderful so far. We are newer to the community. My dad's been in the memory care area for just about month. The facility is light and bright, clean and welcoming. I love that he has access to fresh air in their courtyard. There is usually music playing and activities taking place to keep my Dad and the other residents engaged. I've watched as the staff has been attentive to all the residents and patient with their individual needs.

Since 2023 I have had three family members who needed care above what family could provide at home. My mother is the most recent, entering assisted living a little over a month ago. When you walk in the door you notice how clean and bright the facility is. The staff is friendly and most speak in passing and are pleasant. The food and dining experience for all three meals is top of the line. Any issues with care that may arise are handled promptly. If my Mom isn't complaining things must be going pretty well. At times staffing levels may be down but I don't think it's a management issue but a workforce issue. I am very pleased with our choice.

Making the move was the best decision we could have made. The difference has been remarkable. We are always greeted with a smile, and mom is truly happy and thriving again. The activities keep residents engaged, the environment feels like home, and the entire staff-every single one of them, from concierge to administration-is exceptional! Their kindness and attentiveness shine through in everything they do. The food is homemade and delicious, and they have gone above and beyond to accommodate mom's dietary restrictions, preparing wonderful meals when she can't have what's on the main menu. Deirdre far exceeded my expectations in dealing with my sister's health and family challenges while she was a resident at Gloucester House. As my sister had no family in the area, and I am 1,000 miles away, Deirdre was exceedingly kind, patient and willing to step in and help with a complicated family situation. We discovered Commonwealth Senior Living the summer of 2025. We visited, scheduled a meal time, and a craft time for my mother. Upon every visit, we felt a sense of welcome and family. My mom has been at Gloucester House for only one month. In that time, she is physically stronger and healthier than she has been in years. The pandemic and time following Covid was really difficult for a widow. Her activities and social time diminished to nearly nothing. Mom is once again thriving! She enjoys making new friends, eating with others, engaging in crafts, games, worship, and music. The staff is sincere, helpful, friendly, and fun. Commonwealth Senior Living at Gloucester House has met all of our expectations for caring for our mother, and then some!!

I have been the Power of Attorney for an individual in the Sweet Memory care unit of Gloucester House since February 2018. As we know, adequate staffing is a persistent issue at all care facilities, but the GH staff teams up to get the job done. 2020 was tough, and the months following with Covid, but Cindy continues to thrive. She even was able to keep her cat until he died of old age. I truly appreciate director Deirdre Lund, who really listens and responds to concerns. Mostly I am just so thankful for Gloucester House!

I had the opportunity to assist a friend with finding a facility that could meet her needs. I learned about Gloucester House, did some research and spoke with Haley and Deidre about the process. Long story short, my friend now resides there, and the experience has been exceptional. She is being well taken care of and is thriving in the setting. The facility is extremely clean, and the staff is both helpful and knowledgeable. I will recommend Gloucester House to anyone looking for a facility of this kind.

My mother moved to Gloucester House in August. She was at another Commonwealth Senior Living before Gloucester House. By far Gloucester House staff is more caring and go beyond the call of duty. I have visited my mom many times & have noticed a resident sitting by a nurse. The resident seemed agitated & the nurse was consoling her. I have been to many assisted living places in my life & have never seen a nurse take the time to have a resident sitting by their side to console them . Other places would tell the family they need to hire someone to be with their loved one if this happened on a regular basis.

My husband is a resident in this facility on the memory care unit side. Most of the time his room is not clean. I see the same trash when i visit every two to three days. His bathroom is not that clean either. Today i saw a filthy men's underwear pad just laying in the bathroom floor. Most of the time the bathroom is not clean. I am aware of a shortage of people to work but something has to change. I am paying a lot of money for my husband to be in this facility and is most appreciative of the workers who are there who do take care of him.

Gloucester House is a wonderful place for my loved one. Their dining staff works with my dads dietary needs and always goes the extra mile to make sure he has what he needs. The variety of activities provided allow for all residents to feel welcome and included. The nursing staff takes time to call families with updates, needs and concerns. They know families by name and make you feel welcome. I am very blessed and thankful for the care my dad receives. I am able to be a daughter and sleep soundly at night!

Gospel hymn singing time on the first Sunday of each month at 2 pm is always a delightful time. The residents are wonderful and enjoy singing praises to God! The facility is always clean and in good order. The staff are kind and helpful. I would recommend Commonwealth to anyone considering an assisted living arrangement for themselves or a loved one. UPDATE (5/5/24): Commonwealth continues to perform at a high level to meet the needs of those who need a home away from home. I appreciate what they do and the opportunity that they provide me to minister to the residents there. Until Jesus returns to take me away, I look forward to sharing Christ with the precious folks there! THEY ARE WONDERFUL!!!

I don’t know where to begin to express our gratitude and Love for Everyone at Gloucester house. The staff is just amazing. They care so deeply for the residents and the residents families as well. Since my Mom has been there she has come alive. Prior to covid she was so active especially for her age of 96 young! Then she lost social contact and her church services. It really took a toll. She started to give up I think. She was falling and we knew it was time as she was getting hurt now. It was a hard choice to make for everyone but especially Mom. Mom has truly come alive again and just Loves the activities and everything about Gloucester house. The staff works hard to please all the residents and keep them busy. We are happy because we know in our hearts it was the right place for our Mother, and she is happy which is most important.

I love visiting with my Sister at The Gloucester House. She is always clean and the facility is clean. All the women working there are friendly and nice. Whitley is my favorite and her Mother also. They both are hard workers. The food is my only complaint. Pat’s hot dog was so tough I couldn’t cut it .

We recently moved a family member to Gloucester House. There is nothing short of panic in knowing that a loved one is not able to take care of oneself. However, that after seeing the facility and the staff that take care of the residents, we were more than secure in taking the next step and moved my mother to the community. She has been much happier and we have had excellent communication with the staff and administrators during the critical initial weeks. This was not an easy decision, but the continuous support my mother receives makes us secure in the decision we made. This is an excellent facility and I would strongly encourage anyone who has the same dilemma we had to contact the team at Gloucester House so that they may try to help.

I gave Earl Haury a push to his room and the door was locked. It took at least 20 minutes for the staff to find a key to let him in. I thought that was to long, basically unacceptable. Then I used the community restroom next to the dining room at 5:45 when I was leaving and there was a lot of what seemed to be quite a bit of urine on the floor around the toilet. I understand your janitorial staff had ended their shift but it was not a good look/ situation. I reported it to your staff. They said they would attend to it.

My mother, a friend and I went to Gloucester House yesterday to visit a friend. The building was beautiful outside and in. The rooms are very nice and large. My friend says the food is great and I saw a menu and everything looked scrumptious. I saw several people playing Bingo and noticed there are several games people can play etc I would be happy to live there when I am no longer able to take care of myself.

We've had a few incidents due to my father's health, but 911 was called immediately. The place is very clean and the staff is amazing. You bring your own bed and furnishings so you're able to make it feel as homey as possible. Large bathroom and closet; both wheelchair accessible. Maintenance will happily mount or hang anything you bring, onto the walls of your room. I left off one star because calls are not returned. Most communication is done through the on-site care givers. As mentioned above, they are amazing and truly care about the residents.
