They offer a lot of bate and switch. Minimal staff for those needing assistance. Special activities posted then moved to another place and/or time and not nearly as advertised. Hawaiian luau served fajitas and taco casserole. Nothing is ever their fault. Food is so-so.

I can’t say enough good things about the care my aunt received at The Westmont at Short Pump. She was there with hospice, and during such a difficult time, the nurses and CNAs from the Westmont truly made all the difference. Taylor, Shyca and Kennedy in particular, were absolutely amazing! So kind, attentive, and so compassionate in every interaction. They treated my aunt with such dignity and warmth, and it brought our family so much comfort knowing she was in such caring hands. I do work at The Westmont part time, so I see the level of care regularly but witnessing it firsthand with my own loved one gave me a whole new appreciation for what they do every day. It’s not just a job to them, it’s genuine, heartfelt care. Thank you to Mandy, the Director of nursing and to the entire team for the incredible work you do. It truly means more than words can express.

I have been living at The Westmont in Shortpump for over 2 years and it was the best decision I have ever made to move here. My 3 room apartment is on the 3rd floor with beautiful views, and my cat, Kramer, and I couldn’t be happier. The staff are amazing and always go out of their way to accommodate my needs. I have met many residents that come from around Richmond area and further away. There are lots of interesting activities for us to pick from and they also take us out on the Westmont van to enjoy other activities.

Westmont is Blatantly Disrespectful to Musicians, Freelancers, and the Local Community They contacted my band to play there, we had a written agreement on getting paid (all proceeds went to a non profit nonetheless), and they refused to pay. We had to get legal council involved to force payment, and the whole process took almost 3 months. Also as stated in another google review, other freelancers have had the same happen to them.

From the moment I walked in, I knew this was a place I could trust. The staff were warm, comforting, and professional, but not overbearing. My wife and I are on the list for occupancy after having looked at numerous other like facilities and have determined that Westmont will serve our needs above all the others reviewed. We have visited the dining facility a number of times and find the food excellent. We have had numerous encounters with the management staff in preparing for our occupancy and find them to be extremely willing to provide the information that we have requested. We attended the Christmas celebration a couple days ago and found the residents and staff very friendly and the residents to be extremely enthusiastic about the facility and their time there Looking forward to becoming a occupant in the future as space becomes available

I had the pleasure of taking a tour at Westmont Short Pump in November. I can honestly, I was truly impressed with the decor, staff, and facility as a whole. The place was immaculate, and the location was superb! The amenities alone were very impressive from the dining hall, movie theater, library, in-house beauty salon and physical therapy. I had an awesome tour with Allison at The Westmont at Short Pump. The community smelt of fresh bread upon entrance and I was greeted with a wonderful welcome from Kathleen and Christy at the front desk. Every staff member and resident were so kind throughout the tour. What a wonderful place.

I was among first few residents to arrive two and a half years ago. There were about a dozen others and over time I watched as the facility filled and became a great place to live for those requiring assistance for different reasons. There have been many changes over that time, but care and assistance provided by RUI and staff has been caring and professional at all times. RUI Corporation is dedicated to provide care and assistance to all residents, and at same time to provide good management and benefits for staff members. That has been difficult while growing and dealing with problems presented during the Covid Pandemic. Many adjustments and staff changes were required during the Pandemic in order to accommodate a growing number of Residents until reaching almost full capacity. These adjustments have been made with struggles, but never at expense of welfare and care of Residents. RUI Residents themselves have been understanding, friendly, and offered advice and assistance to others when they could ------- particularly as the facility grew to handle increasing number of Residents, the changes that had to be made, and simultaneously dealing with a Covid Pandemic. I attempt to personally compliment and give suggestions to staff directors when I have them. That allows all to know personally my appreciation for them and what they do to make our lives better. I have especially worked with a few where I could contribute, and I feel certain they know and understand my personal regard for each of them. They are a great team.

This community is stunning on the inside and out! My grandmother lives here, and I came to visit her while I was in town for my fall break. We ended up having a meal in the dining room and I was blown away by how good the food is. I have other relatives that are in assisted living places and their food is not very good so I was surprised when I ate dinner here how amazing it was. It was like I was sitting in a restaurant.

The facility is very attractive, offering an aesthetic element missing from most nursing homes. My grandmother, who was almost 90 at the time she was there, loved the place. The staff is warm and friendly, offering assistance to both the family as well as my grandmother. Grandma would only say good things about the place when she came over to visit on holidays. She really enjoyed the fact that this facility allowed for pets, specifically cats. Compared to the last facility she was at, this one was more like a hotel. Grandma had more independence as to when she could eat and what activities she had to be involved with. She really enjoyed the large fireplace in the main lobby for sitting and reading. She even said it was her "home away from home." I know, near the end, she made many new friends with both the staff and the clients. I am thankful she spent her last few years at such a warm place.

I spoke to Allison and she gave me all the information and some more about their community. She was a delight to talk to and answered all my questions. I was most excited to learn about the various dining options (I order an iced coffee at the bistro while touring and saw the Sunday brunch setup!) and LUXE salon and spa! I’ve been volunteering at the Westmont Retirement home for about two months and I can genuinely say that I already know how much of an amazing and kind community this is. From when you walk in the doors you are greeted with smiling faces, especially from the life enrichment team which has been amazing throughout my volunteering experience. I have had the opportunity to do many different activities in the retirement home such as walking puppies, dining with the residents, going to different events such as birthday parties, bingo, and socializing with the residents and staff. One of the reasons that this retirement home is so amazing is the Life Enrichment Team run by Rebecca Merritt and her colleagues, Linda and Glenn. They make sure everything relating to enrichment activities are running smoothly from putting on the daily two showings of a movie, having fun parties, to taking the residents on fun outings. I’m looking forward to continuing volunteering this fall, as I enter the tenth grade. I will share my experiences with my classmates as well!

I’ve been volunteering at Westmont for about 10 months now, and can truthfully say that I love the community. As Highschool student, coming into the home and getting to know all the residents is a wonderfully enriching experience! What I especially love about this Retirment home however, is the amazing life enrichment program run by Rebecca Merritt and her colleagues. They, like all the other staff and residents I have met, are wonderful people, who provide so much vibrancy and life to the Westmont community by hosting seasonal activities (such as door wreath decorations), setting up two movie viewings in the upstairs theatre each day for the residents, organizing welcome parties for new residents, hosting anniversary parties, and so much more. One aspect of the life enrichment program which I have partaken in the most is Leash on Life, which focuses on providing a healthy and comfortable life for resident’s pets. I often enjoy walking the residents dogs, around the premise of the building, as well as letting them run loose in the homes very own outdoor enclosed dog area. I especially enjoy being able to partake in the Memory Care pet visits. All the residents bring so much life into this community through their very own ways, and the staffs support and furthering of their energy is truly something admirable. Like I mentioned before, I truly enjoy coming to the retirment home each week, and will continue volunteering at the facility as long as I can.

Highly recommend this place!! Since the second we walked it it took our breathe away. From meeting with Anna who took the time to answer each and every question we had to showing us everything around the property. As we walked the halls each and every staff we passed greeted us and smiled. The paperwork, deposits, and transferring to the move in coordinator was a breeze! Christy is an ABSOLUTE DREAM to work with! Quick response, caring heart, speediness with small issues arise (which will be everywhere; no place is perfect). I can’t say enough about this place. My grandmother has been there a month and a half now and has nothing but amazing things to say still. Side note: the food is amazing too!!

This facility is amazing! From the moment I contacted the Westmont, I was greeted with the smiling voice of Christy Fousekis. We arranged a tour and my mom and I were completely mesmerized by the beauty and cleanliness of this building. As we toured, every staff member made a point to greet us and made us feel welcomed. My mom has been a resident since January and Christy along with the Nursing staff, Amy with Fox rehabilitation services, Brad the executive chef and Sam the assistant director, have all offered amazing assistance to my mom in these past four months. I visit my mom at least weekly and the concierge staff, Kathleen and Willa always make me feel welcomed when I arrive. Mom was having a hard time adjusting at first, but Christy was there to help my mom make the transition. The nursing staff has also been very attentive to my moms medical needs. Nisa and her staff have contacted me when my mom has not been feeling well. If the staffed nurse practitioners, Erin or Karen feel mom needs a new medication, I am contacted first to inform me of the change. The nursing staff has gone so far as finding my mom in the in house theater at night to make sure my mom gets her meds at the correct time. Additionally, there are so many activities available for residents. Rebecca and Linda plan a party at least weekly. Last week they created a prom theme at dinner time along with a band playing while the residents and their families ate. Previously in the day the residents and their families could partake in a mini massage and nosh on snacks. Brad, the executive chef prepares delicious meals and catered events all the time. Life at the Westmont is one big party. I am so glad my mom has an opportunity to experience this loving environment. I know she is in loving and caring hands and will be well taken care of for the remainder of her life. Thank you Westmont staff for your genuine love and support. Andi Ramseur

Memory care unit leaves a lot to be desired. Poorly trained and poorly supervised staff who feel it's ok to yell at residents. No licensed staff or memory care experts in the unit regularly. Activities for memory care residents is minimal - TV is the main source of stimuli.

I moved to the area to be closer to my family, and I have thoroughly enjoyed living in this community, for the last year. In my time here, I have built relationships with other residents and have been able to partake in several of the daily activities that The Westmont has to offer.

I had high hopes for Westmont. Beautiful facility, nice rooms, everything looks great, and many staff members are caring (although the only truly great person is a contractor with another company who visits my parent). Things are really disorganized; perhaps because there's been a fair amount of executive turn over in the past few months. a few examples: Calls or emails with specific questions don't get returned. My parent was not given much information regarding the facility or help setting up or using any of the services. Little to no coordination of the move in process. The "ambassador" program simply doesn't exist. And the food, which had been one of the signature items, seems to have gone downhill very quickly, with a decline both in quality and in quantity. I attended a dinner and a number of residents were unhappy with the meals, noting that there seems to have been a real shift. For the incredibly steep price we are paying, we are not pleased. We are going to give it a bit more time to improve, but are starting to look elsewhere.

My husband and I took a tour of Westmont at Short Pump and found the facility to be one we would definitely consider when the time comes to make a move to an assisted living facility. We found the layout, design, decor and amenities to be of high quality and beautifully arranged. A staff member gave us an exceptional tour explaining the many services provided, we met some of the other residents and even had the opportunity to sample the food which was delicious and the staff very accommodating. It is certainly first on our list!!

My mother has been at Westmont since October. She is always happy when I see her. The staff in the Memory Care area are simply outstanding! Anna did a great job with Mom’s transition into her new home. We toured several places in the West End, but felt that Westmont was the best place overall. We are very happy with our decision for Mom, and we recommend Westmont highly.

I was lucky enough to tour The Westmont at Short Pump prior to its initial opening. This is a top notch facility with exceptional amenities for the residents and friendly and welcoming staff. The location is convenient to the Short Pump area which boasts high end retail and dining. I highly recommend the Westmont at Short Pump for those considering senior living communities.

The Westmont is a gorgeous community. Looks and feels like a high end Independent Living community with all the great care of a 5 star rated assisted living. The staff are kind and caring and attentive they feel like family.

The Westmont has exceeded expectations. From the public spaces to the private apartments, every detail is well thought-out and well designed and decorated. The staff are all very knowledgeable, helpful, polite and communicate well. I love that I sometimes see members of the leadership team manning the reception area. What great insight they must gain from being so resident and visitor centered! The food is restaurant quality and looks and feels like a nice restaurant with cloth napkins and tablecloths, beautiful place settings, menus (with a lot of choices) and the best "wait staff" ever. I like to think of them more as personal friends. They work not only to deliver stellar service, but to also get to know the residents and their food preferences and needs. I could go on and on. This is a facility unlike any other I've ever experienced.

I have been at this company for over three months, and I continue to be surprised and amazed at how well this company is run. They are truly walking the walk and talking the talk. There is legitimate care and concern for each resident and their needs and wants. Nothing is too much to accommodate. I love it here!

A friend and I toured Westmont, Saturday 7/31/21. It is a lovely facility with beautiful decor, and has a number of amenities as well as programs, designed to enrich the lives of their residents. My tour was conducted by an engaging young lady, and as we toured the facility, personnel in the different program areas were nicely dressed, knowledgeable, well spoken and addressed questions we had with ease. I also like the areas that were designed for outdoor dining and/or events! Our tour culminated in their stylishly appointed main dining room, where we enjoyed some delicious food - served table side just like in a restaurant! Our experience was a positive one - indeed! Everything was well organized, personnel- very knowledgeable, amenities, lifestyle programs, Therapy gym, beauty salon, a Spa area for massages, shopping, etc. - Very impressive!
