I had the pleasure to interview for the Director of Dining Services position. When I walked into the building I was greeted by a very nice lady at the front desk. After I told her I was there for an interview, she very nicely asked if I wanted a drink and would let Kate, the director, know that I was there. I was early, but only had to wait a short time. Even though I was nervous during the interview ( I'm use to giving them instead) I thought it went well. Kate went over a wide variety of questions and scenarios with me in a very professional manner. During my time there I saw several interactions the staff had with the residents and felt they were patient and positive with them. I do hope I get a call back, I think it would be a wonderful place to work at.

Just walking into this company's front door for a job interview I could tell it was a great place to be The first person I interacted with was at the front desk and she was so nice and absolutely helpfully The maintenance / housekeeping supervisor I met greeted me with a smile and made me feel very comfortable. He was very easy to talk to. While I was there I observed my surroundings of course and loved seeing the interactions with the employees and residents  seen nothing but smiles and kindness …. let's just say I loved the feeling I got from this place and knew this was the company I wanted to join 

My Mom is in memory care. The caregivers are good in general. The problem is in the past year there's been an outbreak of bedbugs and two instances of scabies that I am aware of. My mom has gotten scabies twice. The facility needs to take preventative measures. We're considering moving our Mom because they don't have an ongoing solution with dealing with outbreaks.

I am always impressed at how warm and friendly all of the staff is, whenever I visit. I tend to come at all hours of the day because of my work, but there is never a difference in the consistency of the staff's kindness. They are very respectful and caring with the residents and it is obvious that they are always trying to help and keep them comfortable. They have incredible patience! I pray for them constantly for the love and care that they show these elderly residents

I came to visit during dinner, while there I observed an elderly woman, who was quite agitated, verbally demean and assault the character of a young woman serving her. The young woman handled the incident and the cranky elderly woman with self control, kindness and grace. Her name is Kennedy. I just wanted to say what a remarkable woman she is and that she not only exhibits the nature of a seasoned professional but is an asset to this organization.

We explored all of the options in the area and found Charter to be far superior and our top choice. The rooms are all very nice as well as the common areas, but without an exceptional staff nothing else really matters, and they have that in spades. The average tenure for the team is far higher than anywhere else and speaks to the quality of the environment. You could not find a harder working, caring staff that delivers exceptional customer service to all of the residents and visitors. From the management, maintenance, nurses, cooks, servers, cleaners, and everyone else, they are always very helpful and sincere, and often go well beyond the basics of the job to ensure the highest quality of life possible for the residents. There are daily activities and a lot of talent brought in for entertainment as well. You can't go wrong with choosing Charter. The owners and the staff have really created a great place for many to call home.

A great place. The building is a bit older than many of the newer facilities that have been built recently, but you would not know it. The entire environment is warm, cozy and inviting. However, it is the staff here that sets it apart. They went the extra mile even before we checked in to make sure we felt welcomed and comforted. Sadly, our stay was short. Had my uncle been staying there longer, I'm sure many of the staff would have been counted as good new friends to him, and to me as well. I highly recommend Charter, and should the need arise for another member of my family, or even myself, I know exactly where we are going.

We had the privilege of having our father reside at Charter after his move from Mississippi. It was one of the best decisions we made for him. The entire staff was amazing each and every day. Recently I had a difficult time were my aging brother could no longer live at his home. At a suggestion from a friend we contacted Kate at Charter Senior Living. She led us through the process and made it as easy as it could be. Once he was at Charter the level of care, compassion, and attitude from ALL the staff was amazing. He was comfortable and smiling by the second day. The facility is clean, I saw a lot of smiles and laughter from the residents. The staffs positive friendly attitude is contagious. Had an event for a patient there. The facility was clean and the decor was very pleasing and felt homey. The staff were very professional. Several activities were happening around the facility that was designed to engage the resident. Resident seemed well cared for and very happy. My husband & I evaluated this establishment as one of several to consider placing our loved on for assisted living support. We found the staff to be kind, courteous, professional & knowledgeable. While there, we were invited by Sheila Giscard to attend a forum of very knowledgeable panel leaders disscuing issues on the aging community, caretaking, long term care, home health, etc. It was highly informative & everyone should go if they have an opportunity. I am moving my loved one into Charter next week and could not be happier. I had checked them out earlier in my search for a facility, but unfortunately went with a different place. I was so disappointed with that facility. I went back to Charter and again spoke with Sheila. She is an absolute delight. She invited me and my husband back to their St Patrick's Day event. We had a wonderful time and really enjoyed how involved the residents were with the festivities.

My Father has been a resident of the Charter Community for just over a month now after coming from another community in the Fredericksburg area. The other community wasn't a good fit for my Father for several reasons. When we toured Charter, we knew immediately this would be a much better! The facilities, accommodations and staff all exceed expectations. Charter is a vibrant, friendly, clean community that feels more like home and a family. My Father is much happier here at Charter, and I couldn't be happier with the quality of care, extremely proactive communications, and overall hospitality of Charter Senior Living of Fredericksburg!

Disclaimer: my loved one never became a resident for reasons unrelated to Charter; this review covers the process before residency. From what I've seen of Charter, they are a very professional, merciful, patient, loving bunch, especially Sheila (and Tracey, from what I've heard of her). My grandfather, who has dementia and is extremely stubborn and difficult, was in emergency respite care in another state and we were trying to find a place in FXBG for him to be near family. After tons of research, Charter was our #1 choice and we put down a deposit and started the process. This is the first time grandpa's ever been in assisted living, and it's been a HUGE adjustment for him, to say the least. The folks at Charter interviewed him via video chat (he's still out of state) for his intake processing and I had to say I was extremely impressed with their reactions to him and their handling of his less-than-amicable qualities; they are truly professionals who deal with these kinds of matters more often than the average person. Unfortunately, due to other issues, my grandpa can't come to the area after all, so that's the end of our experience with Charter, but I will remember them in the future should that need arise. I did go on a tour, and the facility seemed very nice, residents well cared-for and happy, the grounds quite pretty, and the staff very wonderful. Sheila knew the place inside and out, which was something I was looking for on every tour and didn't always see in the people leading the tours at other facilities. They also returned our deposit when it didn't work out, even though the reasons for the fall-through weren't on them. They really worked with my family and we have so much appreciation for that as it's been a very hard time for us with all that's going on.

HeartFields at Fredericksburg has earned my highest personal recommendation. This is the 1st Google review I have ever written on any organization. I am doing so because I so cherished the stellar care provided to my husband during his stay at HeartFields. David has multi-modal needs that I believe are beyond those that Assisted Living Facilities generally accommodate. Our 1st contact was with Sheila Giscard, who was not deterred by this. In fact, she addressed as enthusiastically solving a puzzle. It was evident to David and me that she was our ally. He thrived during his stay. On a personal note, one thing we most valued was their embrace of being pet friendly versus solely accepting pets. Another was the fact that management team members, Executive Director Tracey Hecox, Sheila Giscard and Nursing Director Connie were accessible to our family and played active roles in managing my husbands care. If you are seeking a friendly, positive, safe community, HeartFields will not disappoint.

I cannot say enough about the incredible staff here. My father had a very difficult transition and I was a wreck having to relinquish his care. They couldnt have been any better! They were very upfront, yet also very understanding. He has now been there a month and has had to go from Supported to Memory Care and they have continued to be amazing in their communication and support in working with me. My Dad is settling in and even doing better! As one of the longer established, older places, it may not have all the new bells and whistles of some of the others- but it has much more heart and a core staff that has been their for years. Which in my book has proved to be MORE than worth it!!!

Having the difficult task of placing my 90 year old father into Assisted Living was complicated by my living out of state. After a phone conversation with Sheila Giscard, it became very clear that HeartFields would be the best I could offer him. Due only to a delay from his physician, he was quickly placed in the apartment of our choice. He was not ready to leave his home, however the staff has tenderly cared for and encouraged him. Covid complicated the move even more, but the staff has gone above and beyond to settle him in, doing all the little touches I would do if I was there. The price is competitive with nearby facilities and I believe the incentive offers from those facilities does not equal the personalized service I have received. I trust HeartFields with my most important person, my Dad.
