All the employees are great with my mom. They are very helpful, answerers any questions I have. If they can't answer they will tell me how to get the answer.

Our Dad has been a resident of Highland House for the last 4 1/2 years. He was, to say the least, extremely reluctant to even consider it. He adamantly refused to allow one of us to stay with him in his home, or to stay with one of us in our homes. He absolutely would not allow a stranger in his home either. After a while, he finally agreed to give Highland House a month's trial. I wouldn't be honest if said that he was happy to be there after the month was up. However, during this trial period the entire country was locked down due to Covid19. None of us could go anywhere. Once the country wide lockdown loosened up Dad had adapted well and felt like Highland House was home. During his stay at Highland House he has had a couple of serious health scares. After one of these events he was sent to a rehab facility. Dad insisted on returning home to "his room" at Highland House. He constantly talks about how good the staff is to him. He tells us that he has never heard a disagreement, crossword or argument among the staff or the residents. The staff greets him by name, ask him if he would like or needs anything and seem to genuinely care and have compassion for him. Dad will soon be 92 years old and is happy and content at the Highland House, plus we are relieved in knowing he is in good hands. Dad receives three full meals and two snacks daily, his meds are administered in a timely fashion, his room and linens are kept cleaned or washed regularly. The building and grounds are well maintained, clean and neat. Visits with the residents are encouraged. Wendy Gibson, Administrator, stays in contact with us and we have had no issues in reaching her when necessary. We, as a family, are more than pleased with the care and compassion shown to our Dad. All four of us would highly recommend Highland House to anyone needing this type of care. A sincere thank you to Highland House. Terry A. Brackman, The Ayers Family

What TRULY a disappointment today at the Family Xmas Meal...I can't remember having such a terrible meaL ANYWHERE.. The meal was 100 percent Carbohydrates....HAM, MASHED POTATOES, MAC AND CHEESE , ROLLS THAT WERE NOT COMPLETELY done..The sad part is that the Residents, that pay dearly to live there, eat this everyday...Sorry, but this will be one Assisted Facility that I wouldn't recommend.
