Spring Oak Bedford at the historic Elks Home is a good place for your loved ones. Our experience with executive management, health services and nursing leadership, the facilities team, diet and dining management, front desk help, activities team, daily Rx meds delivery staff, daily door-to-door care visit personnel, and dining room wait staff has been excellent. From the chief of operations to the many rank-and-file workers, the care and service is competent, diligent, and it is done with kindness and love. The setting is beautiful. We are happy with Spring Oak Elks Bedford Assisted Living. God bless these folks.

I have visited this community on several occasions and found the team to be very attentive and kind. The building is a historical landmark in Bedford and shows well for its age! The residents enjoy a beautiful dining room, nice activity center and open common spaces! The staff caring for the residents know them and their needs!

My mom was a resident there for about 2 years, passing in November of 2022. It was such a mixed bag of some good helpers and some terrible helpers. They were understaffed, had very little security, there were numerous lost and stolen personal items, and miserable wait-times for assistance. Communication between loved ones of residents and staff was very inadequate; to the point of administering new meds without my authorization. At the last weekend of my mom's life, she was sent to the ER because the assistant nursing supervisor panicked, being ill-trained in how to deal with a specific issue. I did not know about it for over three hours because I was not by my phone. But the thing is, she didnt try calling the 2nd emergency call number of my husband, nor did she try to call me again, to see if I received their 1st message. Then, when she was returned back to the Elk's from the Bedford hospital, I was not informed. When I tried calling on a Friday night to locate her, no one answered the phone-either at front desk or memory care. I agree with one review where they stated that the supervisor and admin staff were way over their head. Since I live in the area, I have yet to hear much good about the Elks-or as they are now called Spring Oak, and it is very grievious. Unfortunately, the WHOLE Assisted Living system is broken and run by corporate greed. The elderly deserve so much more honor and respect on a daily basis than what they can receive at most of these places. If I had to do it over again, I would never choose assisted living for my mom. I would have sucked-it-up and had her stay with me and hubby and had hired help when she needed it.

Staff really needs training. I wanted to see about volunteering and I was told I could apply on the website. I called back to explain there is nothing about volunteering on the website, and while she was not rude or anything, she did multiple times tell me to submit my application and call back in the morning which made no sense because there is no way to apply online.

I have so many memories in this wonderful place. My beloved Great Grandfather lived there until he passed. I remember visiting him there and it was always a beautiful experience. The Elks home treated him with love kindness and respect. Just as my my Great Grandfather treated me with so much love . He passed when I was very little but even now I remember my Great Grandfather and the Elks home . It's part of one of the most beautiful memories of my life .

Spring Oak is a beautiful and peaceful place. I originally stopped by as a "secret shopper" and was pleasantly surprised. Juan, the Director of Community Relations provided an on the spot tour, answered all my questions and introduced me to other staff and residents. When I returned it was heartwarming to see how the 3 rock stars Juan, The Recreation coordinator and Mike was talking great care of my parent. They immediately took intiative, ensured proper equipment was retrieved and put together and added a few "bells and whistles". Juan engaged with my parents interest and encouraged socialization. Everyone has been kind and made themselves available for any of my questions and requests. I feel comfortable that my parent is in a good place in large part because of Staff members like Juan who genuinely care for people and demonstrate with their actions and engagement.with both residents and their families.

Spring Oak is a beautiful community with fun activities and loving staff. There has been a wonderful and welcome change in management and ownership recently that has greatly improved the whole culture and environment. If you need a place for your loved one to call home you need to call for a tour!

My parents spent almost a month at this facility. Their apartment was wonderful and they reported the food as adequate. Privacy, however, was almost nonexistent, I witnessed the staff talking to my parents in a condescending way, and there were consistent problems with the giving of medicines, which the people in charge were unwilling to correct. Not as wonderful a place as the Christmas decorations would suggest.

While I can only rate the Christmas light show that I drove through tonight, I cannot rate this place as an assisted living community as I have never been inside nor know anyone who has, but it does look like a very nice place and I can tell they go through a lot of work to get it looking so good. If you are in the area it is definitely worth a drive-through and remember to shut your headlights off. There may be a long line of cars but it moves pretty fast and it's well worth it! There's nothing better to put you in the Christmas spirit!
