I am 73 years old, have lived at the Hanover Manor Assisted Living facility for over a year and think it is a wonderful place to spend my retirement years! The building is located in Ashland, VA & has been remodeled to provide an attractive, supportive home for about 40 people of varying needs & abilities. The excellent, caring & professional staff make it a very welcoming, safe & desirable facility; they genuinely care for the residents as if they are their own family members! It also has many perks, such as private rooms, 3 meals a day, plus snacks in the dining room; The Activities Room staff provides many different things for the residents to enjoy, such as crafts, puzzles, card games & Bingo games. There are daily exercise classes & nice halls in which to walk when the weather is bad. There are often opportunities to listen to special guests giving informative talks on a variety of topics, as well as opportunities to enjoy a variety of musical acts. Finally, there is a smaller facility on the grounds for people who need extra care & more safety measures. If you want to hear more about this wonderful place, just talk with the residents &/or schedule an appointment with our administrator!

When searching for an assistive living it can often be hard finding a place where the staff cares about the residents as the individual people they are. Hanover Manor gets to know their residents so well! I have been super impressed with their care. The director and staff gives just a warm presence to the entire building. Truly a special place.

Hanover Manor contacted me to find out if I would do flower arranging activities with residents as part of my studio florist business, Honeygirl Flowers. Although I had mostly worked with children before, I agreed to try. It has been a lovely experience, and I just did my third workshop there in September. HM manager, Sarah, and activities director, Nyema, have been so easy to work with and so positive about the activities we’ve tried. I’m thrilled that they recognize the joy that working with flowers can bring to people. The residents who have attended the workshops have loved working with and learning about the flowers and have enjoyed having their arrangements put on the tables in the dining room to be enjoyed by all. All of the interactions between staff and residents that I have witnessed have been very positive and caring. And the residence itself has undergone a gorgeous remodeling since my first visit making it an even brighter more inviting space for all.

The staffing, the environment, the people, the events and the food is pretty good. Hanover manor has a way of making their residents feel at home and making it known that this is thier safe place. Hanover manor is known for having family, fun outdoor and indoor activities making it fun for everyone. There is one individual who I can say deserves all the respect and acknowledgment for not just who they are but what they offer to Hanover Manor. Please let me give a HUGE shout to Nyema Jackson she is the absolute best and most outstanding and hardworking director I know and represents Hanover Manor very well.

My father has been residing at Hanover Manor in the memory care facility for 3- years. He is loved and well-cared for and treated with dignity and respect. All of the staff is wonderful, but I would like to give a shout out to Cindy Henline, Director of Nursing. Cindy has been at the facility for several years. She is very knowledgeable and skilled with geriatric and dementia care, competent, professional, warm, compassionate and very supportive not only to the residents, whom she treats with utmost respect and care, but to family members and her staff. Cindy is kind, patient and always responsive to calls, questions or concerns in a timely fashion- returning calls 24/7. I would absolutely refer individuals, needing assistance with support for loved ones with memory care needs, to Hanover Manor and recommend they talk to Cindy.

My dad fell in 2020 after living alone for far too many years. The hospital didn’t give me time to research before basically kicking him out. I wondered what will I do next to take care of dad because he needed rehab. After being in a local rehab which I found to be the worst for thirty days, I was asking myself, what can I do next to take care of my dad and not get into the same last 30 days experience. I had heard of Hanover Manor so, I pulled into the parking lot and made a frantic call to talk with someone. I couldn’t have found a more friendly, comforting reception during my visit with Kathi Hathcock. She told me if he could walk on with a walker, they would get him healthy again. For the past 2 years I couldn’t have found a more loving place to call home for daddy. The administration, nursing, and staff are all the most caring, and loving that I could asked for. Dad is very comfortable in his new home. He enjoys the meals which I was afraid this would be something he would complain about, but, never once has he complained. Best place ever!
