I want to express my sincere appreciation to Ms. Wenta Tadesse for her outstanding assistance with our billing questions. Navigating assisted living billing can be complicated and stressful, but Wenta was patient, knowledgeable, and incredibly responsive throughout the process. Every question was answered clearly, and every concern was handled with professionalism, kindness, and genuine care. Wenta took the time to explain the details, follow up promptly, and make sure everything was resolved correctly. Har level of dedication made a difficult situation much easier for our family. We are truly grateful. Thank you, Wenta, for your compassion, integrity, and commitment to helping us.

For months I visited many assisted living facilities in an attempt to find just the right place for my brother. I wasn’t happy with any of them. A friend told me about Vitality Senior Living. I immediately called and arranged a tour. From the moment I walked into the lobby, I knew this was the right place for him. I was greeted with a warm and friendly hello and then given a tour. I was very impressed with all of the activities they had for residents. Things got even better as I was invited to lunch to sample the food, it was delicious! Vitality Senior Living has been the absolute best placement for my brother. It’s like living in a fancy little hotel. The food is delicious; the facility is spick and span clean and the best part is that all of the people who work at Vitality are kind and caring. Each staff member treats residents like a member of their own family. I couldn’t be happier with Vitality Senior Living and neither could my brother. I’m so grateful for the excellent care he receives.

I have had the privilege of working with Vitality for the past 5 months, and I can't speak highly enough about the level of care and support they provide to their residents. Their team is professional, compassionate, and attentive.

If the resident can self advocate and get out and about, even with wheelchair or walker, Vitality Living in Arlington is a lively home for assisted living and 24-hour care. Their activities are plentiful and well-attended, and the dining room has good food, variety of healthy choices, and waiter service. Furnishings in public spaces are solid and traditional”a big TV main room with many additional seating areas for games and staff-led activities. But if your loved one is unable to self advocate, this may not be the correct setting for them. My sister had increasing dementia and suffered with lack of care such as for bathing, daily hand washing and other hygienic care, room cleanliness, laundry service, and diaper changes. Only a few, long-term staff members are well trained, and the wellness director’s dictatorial management style does not encourage teamwork or compassion. My sister was in a shared suite, and her neighbor in a wheelchair also had declining mental acuity, and was often left for more than an hour without response to her call button for assistance getting in and out of bed. Their bathroom had frequent smears of feces and a filthy floor. Only when hospice came into my sister’s care did she receive decent treatment. If two of us were not active in her care, visiting at least twice a week, she would have received only minimal attention. When she had Covid, we were told not to visit for 10 days. On day nine I went and found a disastrous setting”bedsheet and mattress soaked with urine to the point of being black, her diaper unchanged for days, nor was she bathed, feces on the floor, containers with dried-out food scattered about, and she had bedsores on her coccyx, shoulders, and ankle. She was skin and bones upon entry, so these were pressure points, but it meant no one had changed her clothes, diaper, or had bathed her for these pressure wounds to have developed in that period. Naturally I complained to both wellness director and executive director, after which hospice services were ordered. I believe my sister’s intake was at an incorrect level to make the sale, and though the ED insisted this was not so, she increased her level of care without charge. Medication services were great”they crushed her medicine in applesauce when she showed difficulty swallowing, and gave her a required injection on time. Vitality Living could be a great home for still-active elders, but it was most definitely a terrible experience for my sister. I have photos of her wounds and filthy rooms but they are disgustiing and upsetting so I won’t post them.

I managed the transition of an elderly neighbor into Vitality in August 2024, and our experience from the start has been excellent. I toured multiple facilities in DC and Northern VA before choosing Vitality, where I was drawn to the clean and updated facility, the responsive staff, and the supportive community. Excellent operations truly start from the top down, and it's clear from the leadership team that this place is a cut above. I am reassured by the direct contact that I've had with multiple members of the leadership team (Avanel, Sarah, Hector, Levan, Brian), and how friendly and approachable they are. It's clear that they take the needs of their residents seriously and are committed to creating a safe and responsive environment. The nursing staff, activities coordinators, and dining room attendants have all been wonderful and professional. My neighbor initially started in Assisted Living, and transitioned to Memory Care after it became clear that his dementia meant that he needed more assistance. Both experiences have been great overall. Nothing is perfect when it comes to aging, but Vitality comes close - and I am grateful for how they've accommodated my neighbors specific needs amidst their larger program.

Although I have only worked at Vitality Arlington for a few months, I have found it to be a wonderful workplace and lovely assisted living community. From day one, everyone was welcoming and patient as I settled into my role. I look forward to coming to work every day because I get to work alongside kind and compassionate coworkers and interact with the sweetest residents. Each day, I am shown examples of our staff doing all that they can to make the residents happy and comfortable, meeting them exactly where they are at that time. It’s been immensely rewarding to contribute to this caring community and to make even the smallest positive impact on our residents’ lives. I cannot stress enough how wonderful our residents are! I’m constantly learning from their rich experiences, which in turn enriches my own perspective on life. Engaging with them daily is the highlight of my job. Whether you’re seeking a career or a new home for a loved one, Vitality Arlington is an exceptional place to find both.

Great location. Clean facility. Meals are okay. For assisted living, activities available daily. Family member now in memory care, cramped dining area, no outdoor space, only activities I catch is watching tv. Promises aren’t kept, apartments aren’t maintained/cleaned, the lighting is so low, no help with daily personal care (as promised), we have to provide toilet paper because they don’t want them to clog the drains but what about the simple dignity of being able to wipe yourself clean. Constant issues with laundry. The director of the facility is a fast talker that doesn’t listen, more concerned with the numbers (she expressed so once in a brief meeting). The memory care staff hardly seem adequate. Great choice if your loved one is lucid and can manage on their own but If you require memory care look elsewhere, please. At least it’s safe and the staff are genuinely kind. Tips: spend more than 15 minutes in the unit when touring, ask what a typical day is like get the details, ask about help with personal care, follow up with a second/third visit, look at the residents, ask the staff about their tenure, education, experience, expectations. Good luck, it’s a difficult choice but where you ultimately choose to place your loved one matters most.

While unsure about placing my father in a memory care unit, he has come alive again since moving into Vitality Arlington. He is more talkative now and is interacting with staff and other residents. It has been a good decision to move him.

Several months ago my younger sister, who was living in central Virginia, had a serious stroke. The family wanted to move her closer to me, and after visiting several assisted living facilities in the area, we chose Vitality Living Arlington. We have never regretted our decision. Ideally located in the Ballston neighborhood of Arlington, Vitality is close enough to downtown D.C. to be able to take guided trips to the museums on the Mall and elsewhere in the city. There are also local shopping trips. The executive staff runs a tight ship, and security is excellent. The caregivers are well-trained and kind. Therapy sessions are one-on-one, and the instructors are knowledgeable and encouraging. Voluntary activities for the residents run throughout the day and are organized by a dedicated staff. The food is healthy and carefully prepared. Vitality Living Arlington is definitely worth a tour if you are looking for an assisted living facility in the Arlington, VA area.

As primary care taker for my mum I could not see her go somewhere where the memory care was less than what I would provide. Vitality living is a home filled with loving family and an extension of my mother’s biological family. We went through many places to find this miracle. The aids are the most caring and truly loving people. I am grateful every day to have found Vitality living because unlike other places, there is a walk in anytime policy that only the finest establishment can offer because they know their care is of a constant high standard. In building relationships with my mother’s aids (Vitality Living family) they always express how much they love working there. My mother had not smiled in any other care center until she care here and this makes me cry with joy. My biological family has been expanded, and mum’s room is just a bit further down the hall.

Brookdale Arlington Pecan Park is an amazing place for a loved one. I moved my mother from another facility in Arlington (I had a lot of trouble at that other facility) to Brookdale and she has thrived there. The staff at Brookdale is not only fully trained and professional, but they have a heart and truly care for their residents. I am amazed each day by their dedication, caring and passion towards excellent care for our loved ones. They treat my family like their own family. My mom is their mom! I can sum this up with "Wow" and thank you to the entire Brookdale team for helping my mom and making life better for all of us. I am forever grateful. Steve Burke

I have visited this retirement home every 4 months for 2 years now. I am consistently impressed with the attentive and polite staff. The residents are varied in age and mental with-it-ness but they all seem healthy. It’s certainly not cheery, but this is understandable considering they are managing the aged and mentally vulnerable. They have various floors and levels of care management. They have less managed residents and then some in the 24/7 round-the-clock prkinson floor to care for residents who need constant assistance. The dining room offers decent food and restaurant style service. It’s not going to compete with any local restaurant on yelp, but it gets a passing grade. Their real skill set (as it should be) is in its care of the residents. The facility is consistently clean, and in good repair. No large scuffs or stains which can make a place feel drabby. The staff can be found throughout. I have never had to search more than 10 steps before encountering someone to help. They smile and chitchat and know my relatives names and even some facts about each. They are not only courteous but trained to greet every person with eye contact and a how-do-you-do. I am very impressed and I only hope that I find myself in a facility as nice as this when it’s my turn. Your work is appreciated Brookdale.
