My wife entered Arden Courts in early March of 2020 just a COVID hit this area. In person visitation ceased with days before I could visit my wife. The staff immediately developed a process for virtual visits and the facilitation was wonderful. Once porch visits began, the facilitation of these visits went smoothly With the advent of in-person visits, the staff have continued with cautious and caring monitoring monitoring. Family and friends have a choice of visitation setting. I have witnessed the group activities for the residents and believe that these are specially designed to offer residents the best array of options. I have found it each to reach out to both the Program Director and the Director of Nursing. The front desk staff and the staff who work directly with my wife appear to be knowledgable about her and are always welcoming and focused on customer service and seeing the resident's needs a paramount. As someone work serves as a team leader for an accrediting organization, I believe that Arden Cours uses best practices based on science. After reviewing many types of residential programs for decades, I can see that the offers excellent care, a caring and comfortable living environment, and a governance model that puts the residents first.

My mother's situation got very bad at the worst time, during the initial covid wave. She had been stuck in various facilities on the Eastern Shore for three agonizing months. She was turned down by three facilities that deemed her too difficult. A friend recommended Arden Courts, where she had placed her brother...and she recommended them "110%". When I met with them, instead of telling me that they couldn't take her, they said that "we have a dozen residents just like your mother". They skillfully helped me make a complicated transfer. They allowed me to at least glimpse her, for the first time in months. She looked awful due to the heavy doses of sedative drugs she was on. Over several weeks, the skilled caregivers of Arden Courts weaned her off of many of the medicines. Her smile came back, she was able to eat solid food again, and she relished the social activities and upbeat nature of the staff. The scale of the building and the allowance for residents to roam wherever they want is completely different from facilities that merely have an Alzheimer's wing. The staff always calls if there is any issue, even a minor one. They are amazing people, and have allowed our family to relax and stop worrying about her. As her needs continue to transition, we know she is in caring, skilled, and gentle hands.

I wanted to share my very positive review of the Arden Courts of Annandale facility. My brother is a resident of the facility and my siblings and I have been impressed with facility, the administration, and the staff there. The location is clean and accessible, and the care personnel are consistently very helpful. I manage all of my brother's affairs including the sometimes difficult list of associated paperwork and communications involved- I have to say that the administration and staff have been very easy to work with and always very helpful. Thanks Arden Courts of Annandale (really)!

My colleague and I were invited to meet the Arden Courts leadership team and have lunch yesterday. We were kindly greeted immediately upon arrival, underwent proper COVID screening protocol, and were escorted to the meeting office. We did not visit in any residential care areas. Terry (Memory Care Advisor) and Barb Lear (Executive Director) were engaging and committed to their residents. We experienced a beautifully presented and deliciously tasting lunch at the hands of Steven (Executive Chef). I have many dietary restrictions; Steven went above and beyond to accommodate my needs so I could truly enjoy my meal. Thank You Barb, Terry, and Steven for a lovely visit!

Arden Courts of Annandale was a life-saver for our family! Late last summer, we discovered our sister (who lived alone in Alexandria) was suffering from dementia-Alzheimers Disease and needed to be transferred from the hospital where she had been taken to a secure memory care facility. With the rest of the family residing in either MI or FL with no local contacts, we asked the hospital social worker for a referral - and thats how we were introduced to Arden Courts. Even knowing that our sister would likely not remain there and would be moved closer to family in either MI or FL, the Arden Courts team provided sorely needed information, professional guidance and emotional support throughout that very trying time. I would highly recommend Arden Courts of Annandale. They were a welcome help in time of need and our family is forever grateful for their kind support and guidance!

Pop, my father-in-law, lived at Arden Courts for several months. We moved him from another facility that had a memory care floor, but this entire facility is dedicated to memory care. We immediately knew that we made the right move. Management and staff were very professional, friendly and caring. Clem thrived there before he was taken ill. He loved to roam around inside and outside of the facility. There were lots of activities that kept him engaged. The Executive Director used to shave him herself! I recommend Arden Courts of Annandale unconditionally!

Arden Courts is an exceptional facility specializing in the care of those suffering from dementia. The facility was designed for dementia patients; open spaces with private rooms. I cannot say enough about the staff other than they are a Godsend! When we met with Barb Lear, Executive Director and Terry Gross, Memory Care Advisor to discuss Dads placement in Arden Courts, we knew we were in the right facility for him. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic protocols, we were unable to tour the facility, but the pictures and diagrams of the layout of the facility were very helpful for us to make this very stressful decision. They explained that their entire facility is completely surrounded by fencing, but open to the patients, meaning they can walk anywhere, both inside and out of the complex, if they so desire. After our meeting, Barb drove to Potomac, MD to evaluate Dad. They hit it off immediately. He responded to her questions and even showed her around his home. Within a week, and the help of Barb and Arden Courts new Director of Nursing, they traveled to Dads home and convinced Dad to come with them to Arden Court. Without any hesitation, Dad accompanied them to the car and was driven 30 minutes to Arden Courts. Barb and the staff know how to care for and talk to dementia patients by placing themselves in the patients world. Once Dad was processed (examined by Diane Hendel, N. P.) he was showered and shaved. They sent us a picture of Dads first evening. He looked great and had a smile that we havent seen in years! He received physical, occupational and speech therapy and is doing exceptionally well. What a relief! Dad no longer sits in his chair sleeping all day. At Arden Courts, he participates in activities (assisted by staff), enjoys his meals and most of all, socializes with the other patients and staff. Diane visits once a week, examines Dad and adjusts his medication and care. What a difference Arden Courts has made in Dads life. While trying to honor his wishes by keeping him in his home, we realized that once we observed him at Aden Courts, we were actually providing him a disservice. The staff has bent over backwards assisting members of the family to see and talk with Dad via phone, FaceTime or Google Duo. Whenever we contact Arden Courts, the staff is very responsive to our questions and needs or, return our calls shortly thereafter. They provide updates on Dads status and condition. If youre looking for a place for your loved-one who suffers from dementia, look no further than Arden Courts. I guarantee, you will NOT be disappointed.

Arden Courts of Annandale was a saving grace for my family when we found ourselves in need of a dementia care facility for my Dad. When we toured the facility, we were in awe of the freedom and independence the residents get in this facility. They have a secure environment with a lot of sitting areas inside and out. The residents have the freedom to walk outside, weather permitting, whenever they want to. It made my father quite happy to have that freedom. The Executive Director was amazing and showed personal attention to the residents. She would even personally shave a resident if needed. The nursing staff was terrific and cared very much for the residents. They provided a lot of fun activities for the residents, including movies, music and family gatherings. At the end of my fathers struggle, the care and compassion Arden Courts of Annandale showed my Dad and our family was incredible. I highly recommend Arden Courts of Annandale.

Visited with Anna a few weeks ago. she was kind and compassionate about my needs for my mom. There was so much positive energy when I was visiting, so many residents participating in musical sing a longs or walking around happily. My hunt for memory care for my mom is a challenging one, but every place I have looked at since I visited Arden Courts in Annandale hasnt even compared.

Very professional and extremely caring facility and people. Well-managed and staffed with top-notch experts on dealing with Memory Care needs. Our mother was very against moving into a home and we four sons felt compelled to make it work in our homes. But so much more was needed to deal with Alzheimers, etc., than we could ever give. Mom is living a much fuller life and enjoying the many activities geared to keep her stimulated, active and in good health. Really enjoy our visits!
