I just love the Elance at West End Community! Whenever I am there visiting I'm welcomed by the wonderful team. They are so caring, friendly, and warm. You can tell they genuinely love what they do and are there for all the right reasons. Their memory care is just beautiful with several beautiful and engaging spaces for families and friends to connect and create memories together. I also love that they offer their memory residents a daily mocktail hour and they get a warm hot towel and hand spa before meals. Talk about first class!! The lovely library is one of my favorites places to visit and spend time in with my friends.

We are so unhappy with Elance at West End we are moving our relative right away. Over the past 10 months this went from a wonderful vibrant community to a horrible experience on so many levels. Management is either unable or unwilling to make changes since RUI took over the property. The same food is served over and over tastes very salted and the variation residents used to get especially for lunch and dinner is gone. My mom complains nonstop she eats the same unhealthy food day in and day out. The nursing group has issues and we had to take her to a lab for all tests as they cannot get the results and ignore physician offices resulting in missing appointments and jeopardizing care. Call time for pendants can run over an hour often (told to me by several families). They have slashed a lot of extras residents used to get and jacked up the rates 7% with a $150 junk fee on top of the money paid for care levels. This is a residence in turmoil with staff that seems indifferent and can be rude. Plus, RUI does not return messages to address the issues and just ignores the residents and families when they want to discuss what's going on. I will be very relieved when my relative leaves at the end of the month and goes to a better assisted living.

I would definitely recommend this community to any one that is looking for their loved one. On Wednesday, I had a tour with a sales director who knew what she was talking about an answered my questions that I didn't even know I needed to know… The community itself is fabulous especially the Second floor Terrace. With my mom wanting to live in the city this makes a great outdoor space for her so she can get her rays as she calls it. Now all I have to do is convince her that this is the best fit for her.

What a fantastic place; having looked at several other assisted living on behalf of my nonagenarian Mom, it was a tremendous relief to find Elance at West End. We needed specialized food ..., 24/7 available nursing staff ..., safe environment ... near great hospital  highly rated for safety and patient care ......(it's close to one and not much further to a second, even during rush hour!) We WANTED highly trained and skilled available house call physicians ......(two options!), medical tasty food ..., longevity of care and dining staff ..., comfortable & roomy ...relatively new accommodation..., with individual a/c and heating controls..., which has own fitness activities..., fitness pool..., art room and leisure activities..., and not just a beauty salon ... BUT massage therapy ...and personal training..., as well as religious services of choice ...! Jaw-droppingly great experience! The company ("Retirement Unlimited") funding it has a wonderful rating and is doing upgrades on what already is stellar! And the admin staff? Wow, accommodating within the reasonable limits of having to stay on business. Bravo! I was truly stunned Mom's lengthy needs and desires were so well fitted, and the people so compassionate and helpful! Check it out yourself. (Note: Many places have visiting or in-house physical therapists ..., speech therapists ...and podiatrists..., a lesser number have psychologists..., and virtually none also have a visiting psychiatrist .... The best part was the number of happily engaged residents I have observed on several occasions, in contrast to those observed in more isolated situations at other assisted livings. There are a mix of walkers, those without such aids, and wheelchairs, and a range of ages. Odds and ends: Visiting family can order food there, there is a park with playground within a block, do little ones can visit. I believe residents can have pets and help caring for them! They have an incontinence supply program. Phone, electricity, water, basic cable, internet included in pricing. And, the "vibe" has been much better than other places. Cons: I admittedly don't understand the name "Elance . Seriously, it is in a city-street environment, so the views out the window may not be amazing, like... traffic, a car dealership. Closest hospital is Inova Alexandria, about 8 minutes give or take. Inova Fairfax about 18 minutes away. Rush hour for the latter May be longer. The carpet is a bit dark, but I understand they will be lightening it up. Closets vary in size. (But, it took me visiting more than a dozen ­ other places to find this one. I am hoping my review will help you avoid this same scenario.) And, you DO get what you pay $ for--they have some well-arranged studio apartments we looked at, although I am not speaking Re: availability. It would be much more comfortable to be in a studio here in my opinion than in options I have seen at inferior places. (One different company's assisted living had families urging me to leave/not place Mom there unless I could daily visit! And the food at some places where they KNEW I was coming?! Shaking My Head.) And: non-refundable deposit likely, don't be surprised to be on a waitlist. But they will work with you on dates and are very clear when money due avs charges start. Disclaimer: I get suspicious of crazily rosy reviews. I have zip relationship with the company or staff, just want to share about this place and people. I had the luxury of not having an emergency situation, as this involves providing a closer option to family already in an assisted living, who has a hard time with change, and gave me seemingly/impossible requirements to fill. After many months' painful research, this option head and shoulders above the rest.

Brandywine is a beautiful facility and for the most part the staff is wonderful and they are nice compassionate people. The food was wonderful and there were many choices for the residents. It sometimes could take a while to actually place your order and receive your food though which I know many of the residents were frustrated with. My dad moved in when there were less than 40 residents and I will say that for the most part we were really satisfied with his care. Nothing is perfect and of course not all personalities mesh but I was pretty pleased and more importantly, he seemed to be happy. My dad had cancer and took a downward turn pretty quick and at first he had Palliative care through Capital Caring and that seemed to work in association with Brandywine. Having the Brandywine doctor proved to be challenging ( for my family anyway) due to her only being there one day a week and it being so challenging to get her on the phone, but in all fairness she had many many patients spread all around town along with patients at their normal offices. Now here is my reason for only giving three stars. My dad was released from the hospital on a Monday and thank the lord we had started hospice care with the help of Capital Caring ( whom by the way are fantastic) and we had no idea his time left was so short. By Friday morning it was clear things were bad and I immediately notified the hospice nurse and she ordered all medications and oxygen to make what time he had left more comfortable. He got two rounds of the medications which were given every 3 hours and then there was a shift change and all the hospice meds were misplaced. After they were finally found I had to leave my dad and beg the nurse to come every single time he needed his medication because they did not come to administer them. Those three hour intervals turns into five hours a few times before he would get his medication. To say I was upset is an understatement. And this is when there were 40 residents. No where near being even slightly full given how many rooms there are. It was heartbreaking that my fathers last two days were not peaceful and that he was not made comfortable. I spoke with them after his passing and honestly I did not feel like they understood this. All I wanted was for my dad to pass not in pain and to have the care he deserved. It is not cheap to have a loved one there,and to me it was devastating the care he received in those final two days. I wanted to add that up until his last days, of course there were a few things that were annoying but I was very happy especially compared to other facilities he had been in ( for rehab after hospital stays) and I would still recommend Brandywine for a loved one. I would have my mom there if needed. I changed my review to 4 stars from 3 because given the amenities and the wonderful staff I felt it was deserved. As with any senior care, family involvement is essential

One of the main reasons I buy Mercedes vehicles is the expectation of superior service and interaction with personnel at the dealership. I recently had my GLC300 picked up for service and a Virginia State Safety Inspection by Mercedes Benz of Alexandia. I cant rave enough about Zack and the ease of scheduling the entire experience from making the initial appointment, updating me about the progress of the work and scheduling the return of my vehicle. Every aspect of the was performed with attention to Corona Virus precautions. Everything was done to mitigate my concerns about potential spread of the virus. The service was done when promised and every schedule was meet. My vehicle was returned in immaculate condition. As usual, the work was done perfectly. Even the process to pay was completed with full concern for the spread of the virus. Mercedes Benz of Alexandria fulfills my expectation of Mercedes quality.
