As you enter the front doors, you instantly feel the worms in the welcoming faces of the staff and how the The building is well kept To make sure it’s safe for your loved ones. The management emphasizes on teamwork everybody there as a family even the maintenance people are always making sure that everything is working In the rooms and hallways in few times, I walked into the dining room and the staff is so attentive to the needs of everyone making sure it’s a pleasant experience dining At the Sunrise If I would sum it up, it is a place full of kindness and love .

While the facilities were clean and some of the staff were very nice, I feel the need to give this negative review in light of my mother's experience here. I can't speak for the independent or assisted living areas but if your loved one needs any amount of care beyond the absolute minimum, I would go elsewhere. My mother was in the memory care unit and had regular issues with toileting, dressing, and aggression. The staff at sunrise blamed my mother, often judging her behavior, rather than see it as a part of her disease (Alzheimers) and did nothing to work to adjust her behavior in a safe and systematic way. My main take away for you is that unless your loved one needs only basic care, go elsewhere!

When you walk into Sunrise of Holladay, you are greeted with a smile by everyone. During my tour, the residents were telling jokes and laughing. They had great relationships with the staff that were working that day. There were multiple activities going on and the residents were enjoying themselves. I did a lunch tour and I highly recommend it. The food was really good and there were multiple options to choose from. I was referred to this community by multiple people in the healthcare industry. Ok with independent living, but when things started going poorly, sunrise wasn't there for us. Transition of care to a higher level simply didn't work and we were left fending for our parents and having to quickly move out and find care elsewhere. Sunrise then said we had to give a 30 day notice. So we were forced to move out, then forced to pay an extra 30 days. During that 30 days, we were slowly moving stuff out of the apartment. We had just a few things left, when we went to pick them up, Sunrise had thrown them out and they were repainting and recarpeting. It was very upsetting to have them treat us this poorly.

Surrounded by cherished neighbors, served by caring, capable employees, meals 3 times daily, 7days a week, a major variety of food, all excellent. Sunrise Holladay is a joyful place. Everyone from the receptionist, to the residents, to the dining room staff, to the Executive Director are friendly, knowledgeable, respectful, and kind. There is a definite sense of community and welcoming here. Hannah Kelly, our main contact at Sunrise, is especially lovely. She is smart, professional, empathetic, patient, and so good natured. She was able to answer all of our questions and anticipate others. She made the whole process of moving my aunt as comfortable and easy as possible. We are especially happy with the ratio of staff to residents, which is more than double from where my aunt was previously. They have systems in place which address each resident’s individual needs in ways which protect their dignity. I am so grateful my aunt can reside in such a well run, safe, and comfortable community.

I can't speak to the AL side, but the memory care facility has utterly failed to provide a decent quality of life to my high-functioning mother. She moved there after receiving assurances that she would thrive in their environment, but the reality has been the opposite. This facility is only appropriate for providing basic needs to people with very advanced dementia. It is woefully inadequate (and frankly depressing) for residents with mild or moderate dementia. The direct care staff (care managers or CNAs) are kind and helpful and have earned our deep appreciation. That and the good food earn the two stars. But a good care facility needs good, responsive leadership, and that's in short supply at Sunrise. Instead, the administration at all levels (memory care director, resident care director, executive director) are more prone to deflect blame toward your loved one with dementia rather than try new things or find creative ways to make good on their marketing pitch. They have been consistently unwilling or unable to provide for the well-being of a high-functioning resident like my mother. If I knew then what I know now, I would never have placed my mother at Sunrise at Holladay. The reality doesn't come close to the sales hype. Do your loved one a favor and look elsewhere, or consider contacting a senior living advisor for objective, invaluable advice. Our elders deserve much better than a cookie-cutter approach to dementia care.

Sunrise at Holladay has been the best thing we could have done for my my family member when it became necessary to place them in an assisted living facility. We had previous experience with Sunrise and their excellent staff and care with another family member several years earlier and it was a no-brainer when it was time to help my family member transition from home to Sunrise. Since day 1, the staff has been so welcoming, warm and just excellent in providing care, kindness and the highest level of professionalism one could ask for in handling the ongoing care of a loved one. Some of the specific items that I think make Sunrise stand out from all the other places are as follows: 1. The facilities are kept clean and it is a very warm and inviting place to be and to visit. 2. The staff, from the front desk folks to the care givers to the management team are all exceptional and dedicated to doing the very best they can to make life for their residents the best it can be under the circumstances. 3. There is no lack of things for the residents to do from bus rides, to guest speakers to musical programs etc., they seem to have a lot for the residents to do to keep them engaged and active in meaningful ways. 4. They seem to genuinely care about the people there and there is a lot of the staff that has been there a long time, so they don't seem to have the turnover issues that a lot of other places seem to experience. Although Sunrise is a little more expensive that some other places, The overall value they provide I think outweighs everything else. If you are considering a facility for your loved ones, Sunrise should be right at the top of your list in my opinion.

The decision to move Mom to Sunrise was the biggest blessing for her and our family. She was finally in a safer environment than being alone in her home. The family could enjoy time with her instead of worrying about yard work and home repairs and caregiving needs. Her last months were filled with more joy and less worry and anxiety. Our biggest regret is that she wasn’t there a year earlier to take full advantage of all the wonderful things Sunrise has to offer. We’ve told our children this is where we want to live 20 years from now.

Leaving her home of 20+ years, during a global pandemic was unsettling, and stressful, but the caring and thoughtful care taken by the staff, in particular Tuputasi Reid, was nothing short of remarkable. Tupu was our direct contact and she set us all at ease. We will always be grateful for the humanity demonstrated by everybody we encountered at Sunrise, and would HIGHLY recommend that those that find themselves in the difficult transitional situation with a loved-one know about the care we received from them.

My Mom was at Sunrise Holladay for about a two and a half years. She was first in assisted living and then memory care. I looked at about 10-15 places before we decided on Sunrise Holladay. The minute we stepped foot in there we knew it was the place for Mom. She felt very welcome immediately. It is clean, does not smell and Mom looked forward to the food and activities. Everyone she came in contact with there was like an old friend/family. COVID was so hard but knowing that Mom was in the best care possible it put my mind at ease. All the necessary precautions were taken to keep the residents and staff safe and healthy. They really took care of Mom like she was family. The entire staff (both the ones you always saw and those behind the scenes) did everything possible to make her finals days peaceful. I am eternally grateful to each and every one of you there, Mom loved all of you!

Love this place! Mom was in the memory care unit. After looking at several different facilities we chose Sunrise at Holladay. The rooms were spacious and carpeted compared to some of the shoe boxes we looked at. The memory care unit is on the 4th floor so mom could look outside to see the mountains she loved. I felt there was better security being on the 4th floor. Because of Covid we were only able to visit in the lobby. There is a table and living room where we could visit for 50 minutes. On moms birthday we were able to go up to her room for a visit and cake. The room was clean and smelled good. Her clothes were neatly folded and put in drawers. Most importantly, mom was clean and smelled good. (This was a problem before she moved into Sunrise). The staff was kind and helpful. I received pictures of mom doing activities and crafts. Mom referred to them as her grandchildren. Mom fell a few times and I received a call right away. When mom passed away I was so worried she was alone but Tiffany was with her and that gave me great comfort. It was really a hard decision to put mom into a memory care facility. After mom moved in we didn’t have to worry about her because we knew she was being taken care of. I recommend Sunrise at Holladay!

The staff is very attentive, helpful, respectful, caring, and really like working there. Parking is at a premium, so plan accordingly or in the garage. My grandparents were here for 10+ years and moved from a 1 bedroom to a 2 bedroom and were then moved to the assisted living side of the building. My grandmother died here about 3 years ago in care of a hospice nurse. My grandfather was very old and had been using a walker and was coming in from outside and the automatic door knocked him down to the ground, he died in pain 9 days later. The staff tried to comfort him and checked in on him at all hours, for he was loved by all and will be missed greatly. They have since replaced the director here and it is a very nice facility, but there are minor issues that they need to attend to, the main one would be the transoms in between the floorings, there are literally ridges which are not something that you would want for people in their 80's, 90's, and 100's in wheelchairs, walkers, and shuffling of feet.

This was a very lovely home for my grandmother, but we removed her for great concerns that we had concerning some management. There were many nurses who confided in my gran that they were quite frightened of the head kitchen chef, whom had been known to be inappropriate with many ladies there yet the people who should have fired him fired the ladies who came for help after that man had been inappropriate with him. My gran no longer felt safe in this home with that man around.

The staff, from executive to the maintenance team, are caring and competent.
