Our mom is SO happy at Spring Gardens! She has been here for a little over a year now, and we are ecstatic that we found this little gem! She has made great friends with the other tenants, as well as every single staff member. The facility is immaculate, the staff is AMAZING, the activities are unparalleled, and it is so obvious that Shayne truly cares about his little community. Thank you, for taking such GREAT care of our mother.

Spring Gardens has been a great place for our father who has been there two years. The staff treats he and the other residents well and with great care. They constantly ensure they have planned activities and outings as well as fitness courses to keep them moving. The food has also been a positive thing and they try to keep a variety of tasteful but healthy options and will even make them special things occasionally when asked. The Administration really cares and invests in each resident and knows their needs and takes time to get to know them on a personal level which makes a big difference to our father and our family. Spring Gardens is really a great place for seniors who need care and/or a positive environment for socialization and wellness!

We moved to Mapleton eight years ago to enjoy the mountain views. When my mother needed assistance, we were fortunate that Spring Gardens was right across the highway. Fortunate that a such an amazing facility was so close was just the beginning. The staff is incredible, activities pleantiful, and mom raves about the cinnamon rolls. Now we can share those mountain views with her each and every day.

This was an absolutely terrific meal. The entire staff is first rate in every way. It has been amazing to experience the high quality meals that have remained consistently the best ever since Britt-Marie came here a few years ago. It's an all around wonderful environment. Thank you for your excellence!

The Memory Care wing at Spring Gardens is the perfect place for my 90 year old mother! She's been living there for almost a year now. When choosing a care facility for our funny, vivacious, sweet mom, my brothers and I were very selective about finding her a place where she could best feel safe and thrive as a person living with Alzheimers. When I was comparing Memory Care facilities in the area, I carefully read all the reviews and toured the facilities. If you are doing the same right now, read on as I share our experience with you. When first entering Spring Gardens, I was happy to see the light filled, spacious and colorful decor, knowing that my mom would really notice and enjoy the atmosphere, while also selfishly recognizing that it would be pleasant for me and my brothers to spend a lot of time there visiting. But what struck me most on this tour, was the moment we first stepped into the Memory Care wing. Right next to the desk area for the CNAs are a cluster of armchairs. Several residents were tucked into blankets in those armchairs while a movie played in the background. (This is the sight you will see there every day!) I immediately recognized that this cozy area has the perfect blend of ongoing companionship - it's the nexus of all the activity in that wing - as well as a place of comfort and safety. My mother feels a need to have other people always in sight, so I knew this would work well for her. I also noticed that there are only about 17 rooms for residents, all on one simple hall. The intimacy of this Memory Care wing was another huge plus for me, since keeping things as simple as possible makes life more manageable for my mother. Though she finds it difficult to tell you where her room is, she has learned through repetition that it's just down the hall. And there's only one hall! It was an obvious choice for us to choose Spring Gardens in Mapleton. I was also pleased that it was then approved by her long term care insurance policy. When I visit her (which is nearly every day since the facility is only 8 minutes from my home), I usually take her on a walk with her walker up and down her own hall, as well as the three other halls on the assisted living side of the building. There's so much for her to see, (she loves all the decorations that residents put on their doors,) and all the staff and many residents greet her by name. I tell her she's famous, and in a way, in this small world she really is! When the weather is nice, we walk on an outside sidewalk and then sit on the back patio and admire the hummingbirds and trees and mountains. I love that I can so easily take her out in nature which is just so good for her soul! And it's enjoyable for me too. When I arrive she's sometimes making a craft or attending a recital upstairs, and I often hear about how she enjoyed an earlier exercise class or made people laugh with her jokes. Then periodically, there are holiday events for entire extended families to come and participate in. When my brother visits her, he takes her to the family room that has a pool table, and she cheers him on while he practices his shots. I personally feel very welcome and at home there and I know my mom does too. And importantly, I also know that I can bring up any questions and concerns I have and the director and staff will make time to sit down with me and help me find solutions. In short, I highly recommend Spring Gardens Memory Care!
November 2023
This is a fair and honest review of the MEMORY CARE at Spring Gardens in Mapleton. This is a very sweet and kind place for your loved one (99% women) and you will be happy if your Alzheimers loved one has no behavioral issues. Our mother was there for 3 months, grew attached to the staff , made many friends and loved it. My sister, who resides in Mapleton, was called on the weekend to come and get our mother. She was out of town,(weekend), and was told to come and get her immediately. I live in AZ, but got a flight the next morning, flew into SLC, rented a car and drove to pick her up. When I arrived the director was not available , but sent the front desk receptionist to escort me to my mother and told me we loved having her and wished me good luck? She tried to give me Geriatric Psych Hospitals in SLC ... I didn't have time to find a bag or suitcase so I wrapped a change a clothes, etc. in a blanket from her bed and took her to the Emergency Room at Utah Valley Hospital in Provo where she was admitted with a UTI and was severely dehydrated to the point of hallucinating. After receiving treatment and care, the caseworker , you are assigned by law , called Spring Gardens and told them that my mother was better and they recommend she be released back to Spring Gardens Memory Care. They told her yes and we immediately brought her back because this was her "home". When I arrived they denied having spoke to UVHospital and the director brought me into his office with a member of the nursing staff and acted like they were doing us a favor. After my sister returned she informed them that we had signed up for private PA services, which they offer for situation just like this - when your Alz Patient is sick. She was there for another week , my sister was called again and informed that she needed more help than they could provide and we had to find a new facility that SAME DAY. We were informed that she had an "outburst" and pushed a walker into another walker. After consulting with her geriatric primary care physician we were told that these were VERY typical behaviors for someone with advanced dementia and alzheimer's disease and they were very disappointed in Spring Gardens. We went to considerable time and expense to put our mother in their care from the move in fees, painting her room and moving her furniture, clothing etc. in , hours of paperwork and forms, and the emotional toll on our mother. Your loved one should be assessed for their level of disease and behavior before you put them in to this facility. Medication Management is also a problem. Wonderful facility if your loved one has "perfect" behaviors.

Facility is great and management was awesome.

We moved Grammy in a few months ago and have been very pleased with her experience. We visited several other facilities in the area and this one by far had the best energy, the happiest people, and just an overall great feel. Nothing has changed since she moved in. I highly recommend this home along with Shayne and his staff.

I can said enough of how good is this facility. Every time that I go to see the resident I see how king and involve the staff is on the patients care which reflect on each visit when I interact with the resident. The staff is always very helpful and aware of the residents needs. I also love how clean and inviting is the facility.

My mom moved into Spring Gardens after a hospital stay last January. I really credit her team of nurses and caregivers with her recovery. Now, after living at Spring Gardens for 9 months, she loves the friendships she has made with both residents and staff. The activities (both the big events as well as all the daily and weekly classes) are amazing! We love that she is safe and happy
