I am an employee here at Truewood by Merrill Gardens. I have only worked here a short time through the covid19 . I have seen the good and the bad in all departments. And its not really bad things that i have seen its more of things that can use improvement. For tje mostoff is that the people care givers aids medtechs cooks and servrs and all upper management really really do care for the residents. I personally have become attatched to quite a few residents. Its really hard not ro become friends and Ive seen employees co.e and go and justlike any other buisiness you need to weed out the bad and hope the next one will be better.like with any buisiness there will be ups and downs until you find the right employees. I would reccomend bringing a loved one to live here.

Five days ago we moved my mother into her apartment. She had been living with family prior to the move. We were concerned that she would be unhappy. We were so wrong! She has been extremely happy and loves the food and friends she has made. She is always telling us how nice everyone is. When we visit she acts like she cant wait for us to leave. I wish we would have done this years ago. She is so much happier than when she lived with me or my sister. Thank you Canyon Creek for making all of our lives better, especially hers. It is great to see my mother happy again!!

We moved our loved one into Canyon Creek and have been so happy we did! We have been welcomed by staff, family, and residents. Our family has grown immensely! We are so pleased with the care givers who truly love what they do and it shows. We know that our parent is well taken care of whether it is care givers, the food, or even being active and having the social time with new friends. We love sitting by the creek or barbecuing in the courtyard. If we ever want to take our parent out we just go right across the street for eating and shopping. We are so grateful to the staff at Canyon Creek! Thank you for all you do.

This place in excellent when compared to other facilities. Negative comments from others have likely not been to or worked at other facilities. I have visited several other assisted living facilities that have literally half the staff, or less, that this facility has. Occasionally things will slip through the cracks, like with anything in life, but no facility is "perfect". When I visit my mother, there are always plenty of friedly staff that are ALWAYS willing to assist. The activities coordinator is AMAZING, where she actively plans lots of activities, outings, etc., and personally is invested in getting the residents involved. Administration is always open to feedback, good or bad, and actively strives to improve any issues that arise. The food is very good, and sometimes even great! My mother is very happy here and is thriving since she's moved here from an independent senior appartment complex.

Describe your experience I had the opportunity to tour this facility in December, while looking for nice, clean, caring environment for my parents. Miss Megan Leishman gave us the tour. She was very knowledgeable, pleasant and bubbly. She explained all of the amenities, costs, insurance; she was able to answer all of our questions. She did not make us feel rushed, or feel as if we were intruding on her time. It was a very nice experience. I would, and have, recommended to many of my friends that when they are in this type of situation with a parent, or parents, they definitely need to check out the Canyon Creek facility.

We put my wifes mother in Canyon Creek in June of 2014. We had to make a fast decision and brought her up from Mesquite on a Sunday evening. Canyon Creek made all of the arrangements for admittance. The CARE is great, every need was met with above average care. The staff only needs to see you a couple of times before you are on a first name basis. Canyon Creek Assisted Living is Excellent! it is a very friendly staffed facility-all employees are very nice and always willing to help out-you are greeted warmly when you walk in the door. The facility is clean, and nicely furnished. The dining room is beautiful and the meals are delicious. They have games, entertainment and great programming. They are also very willing to come into the community and participate in games and other activities that benefit the surrounding senior centers. We highly recommend that you go and tour Canyon Creek you will be amazed and very pleased!

I had the best experience at a Canyon Creek resident field trip the other day at Hollywood Connection. We had the most wonderful time put-put golfing and riding the carousel with the residents. The pizza party in the Hollywood Café was the highlight where one of the residents showed us all how to blow the paper off of straws and we sang along with the juke box to nostalgic songs. Two thumbs up for Canyon Creek and their wonderful staff. Thank you from all of us and thank you for all the wonderful care you give.

My mother has been at Canyon Creek for a year and a half. She is very happy there and one of the main reasons is Jeanette, who truly makes a point of getting to know each and every resident personally. Jeanette goes above and beyond to try to meet the needs and desires of the residents, so in my opinion, she is the glue that holds this facility together. I did visit 2 other places before choosing Canyon Creek but chose CC because of the recommendations of 2 of my friends who had relatives there previously. One of the practices I especially like is that they put a new resident at a table with other residents who are on the same level of independence, and this makes conversation easier and creates a bond of friendship that makes being new so much easier. My mother is very shy and it would have been very difficult for her to go to the dining room alone and blindly approach tables and try to find a group where she would have been welcomed and happy. I would definitely recommend Canyon Creek to anyone looking for a place for their loved one.

I could not be happier with Canyon Creek. My Dad did not want to be there but absolutely needed around the clock care. Although he is physically strong his memory is failing. Our Dad has been loving, generous and caring and we only want the best for him. The suggestions made by the staff (especially Toni) helped Dad turn the corner and make peace with his current limitations. Thank you Canyon Creek for all the extras you provide such as fresh flowers on the dining room tables and a very helpful and cheerful staff.

After visiting many (at least 10) care centers, we KNEW this was the place for our 88 year old father. We had very positive feelings when we met Janette, the community relations coordinator. Since our father did not want to live anywhere except his own home and he is very stubborn, we appreciated the staff for helping our dad adapt to his new living environment. After two weeks, he loved everything. He is very appreciative now and admits he is much happier than he was at home. We are so impressed with every staff member. I have asked five or so people how they like their job. 100% say how much they love the residents. You can see their love in their faces. Every person we've met is professional, open, honest, devoted to their work. The reviewer "Truth d teller d" does not know what a difference the staff makes. When you combine the food quality, the cleanliness, the superior professionalism and integrity of the staff, this facility is excellent.

Truthd Tellerd has it exactly dead wrong!!! I was alerted by my sister about the previous very negative review, posted by our brother, and which is very, extremely negative and incorrect. Canyon Creek has been professional, patient and very kind in working with our father. They have helped in this very challenging situation and transition. My father at first arrived at Canyone Creek to stay for one night, and he was combative and even violent, not an ideal candidate for assisted living or even memory care at Canyon Creek or anywhere else for that matter. The folks at Canyon Creek made very helpful and creative suggestions for us, his children, to turn this situation around, and as a result our father now resides there very successfully and happily. Without going into all the details, it's enough to say that our unhappy brother was not involved in turning this around, so now wants to criticize what he knows nothing about. The rest of us (5 other siblings/children of our father) are grateful and very, very pleased at the process, advice and outcome. You are miracle workers in the rest of our opinion. Great Job Canyon Creek!

I am currently the administrator for a local hospice organization and I have had the pleasure of working with the staff at Canyon Creek for the past 8 years. In this time, I have noticed the staff to be attentive and incredibly kind towards their residents. The management is driven by patient care and concerns and always does their best to accommodate personal preference. They have several RNs on staff which is not typical of this level of care facility. It further emphasizes that their main priority is resident care. I would and do highly recommend Canyon Creek.

I have a family member who lives at Canyon Creek, and has for awhile, and I can honestly say that I love it. I trust the employees to care for my family and I always can count on them to let me know when something happens or needs attention. The CNAs and managers all know my name and that of my family members. I dont feel like a client and my parent does not feel like a patient or room number. It feels more like they are part of a huge family that all reside at Canyon Creek. Whenever I meet with the CNA supervisor for regular check ins, he is always so friendly and actually listens to me. The few minor issues I have ever brought up he makes a priority. You can truly tell that him and his staff care about the people living there. There have also been times that I have called him on his personal phone during his days off, or after he goes home for the day, due to needing information on my parent, and he actually answers and helps me. No one does that anymore! It seems like there are always activities and things to do to keep everyone living there active and social. My parents room and clothes are always clean and they never have any complaints. If I ever do need assistance helping my parent out of the room for example, there is always a CNA around happy to help. If I call them ahead of time when Im picking my family up, the employees always have them dressed, fed and ready to go by the time I get there. All the other managers are always smiling and say hello to me and I just cant explain enough how nice it is to know that your parent is in a place being taken care of 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. I have read some of the low scoring reviews and honestly to me it sounds like a bunch of disgruntled employees. Every now and then I would walk by a CNA who was not smiling or helping and Im sure those are the employees that can always find something bad to say, while writing a review with plenty of grammatical errors and misspellings. I would highly recommend taking your loved ones here. The employees work hard, the managers truly care, the residents always seem happy and I have been coming here long enough to be able to say that with back up.

I use to work for The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company and I compare Canyon Creek, to the Ritz-Carlton of assisted living facilities. The staff goes above and beyond for their residents. I would recommend this senior community to anyone.
