We couldn’t be happier with our experience with The Lodge at Leon Springs. From the moment we walked through the doors, we were greeted with warmth, kindness, and genuine compassion. The staff consistently go above and beyond to make residents feel safe, respected, comfortable, and truly at home. What stands out most is the personalized care. The team takes the time to get to know each resident as an individual, and it’s clear that they genuinely care about their well-being and happiness. The grounds are welcoming, beautifully and maintained. Communication with families has also been exceptional. Knowing that our loved one is in a place where they are cared for with dignity and treated like family gives us tremendous peace of mind. We are incredibly grateful to the entire team for the compassion, professionalism, and dedication they show every day. We highly recommend this community to any family looking for a caring, supportive, and wonderful home for their loved

This is the most wonderful place for my grandmother! She has been suffering from Alzheimer's dementia for years and she was in a memory care facility that had been sold to new owners a couple of times. We saw a decline in the services she was getting at that place. We researched extensively for a new place that still felt small and family oriented. We are so happy with The Lodge at Leon Springs! My grandmother has made significant improvements in her mood. She smiles a lot now and is eating well. The staff really care and importantly, seem to be getting the support they need from administration. The staff seem happy at their jobs and that's a big deal for the happiness of the residents. The building is clean and inviting. The cabins for Independent living are very nice. I want to retire here someday. The pond with the ducks and all the trees in the Hill country make for a beautiful place to live.

I want to say that my experience with The Lodge at Leon Springs has been an excellent example of elder care. Having my Mom at two other facilities really allowed me to compare and provide a credible opinion of this facility. There caregivers are exceptional and sincerely extend love and concern to their residents. I highly recommend this place!

The Lodge at Leon Springs is a very special place. Our Mom had been living alone in Florida for almost 6 years since our Dad passed and did not want to move. We convinced her to move into an 800 square foot independent living cottage at the Lodge at Leon Springs in order to be close to family. She immediately found herself in a loving and supportive community and really enjoyed her screened porch, the mature trees, the pond and the birds chirping. After a fall 6 months later, we were very fortunate that a large suite was available in the assisted living building. We moved her into assisted living and the care she received was extraordinary. I cannot imagine a more caring and supportive staff than the professionals at the Lodge at Leon Springs.

In my current role, I visit senior communities daily. Some multiple times a week. From my personal experience, this community really cares for ALL of its residents and staff. They are always warm and welcoming each time I visit. They give each resident the care they need with the respect they deserve. The community it self is naturally beautiful, always clean and well kept. I would have no regrets trusting them with my own loved one, and you can feel confident to do the same.

My dad spent the last 5 months of his life at the Lodge at Leon Springs. Becca and her staff were absolutely AMAZING. The staff is so caring and treated my dad like a member of their own family. The staff really shined the last 5 days when dad was unresponsive and on hospice care. He was comfortable, clean and treated with the utmost dignity and respect. If the day comes where I need to moved to an assisted living facility, I hope The Lodge is still there, doing what they do best. I would (and will) be their biggest advocate and recommend this facility to anybody in need of care.

Our Mom lived at the Lodge for 9 years before her passing in April. The staff was always welcoming and inviting. Visiting hours are not restricted which allowed us to visit anytime of the day or night. They would always call and communicate with any concerns or just to share a special moment they had with Mom during the day. The support, care and love they gave Mom and the family during her time at the Lodge was above and beyond what we expected of an assisted living facility. There are many senior facilities to choose from but if you are looking for a place that feels like home with people who genuinely care about their residents I would recommend you consider the Lodge at Leon Springs.

Last year, I realized I could no longer safely care for my 90-year old dad due to his progressing dementia. I looked at many assisted living facilities and chose the Lodge hands down. It has exceeded my expectations and the prices are reasonable. It is a small, close and naturally beautiful community that encircles a spring fed pond with large trees which makes such a peaceful setting for gathering, walking and just sitting to admire the beauty. My husband and I moved Dad into one of the cottages just over a year ago and it was wonderful as far as some independence but absolute care by the staff. As his dementia was progressing, we moved him into the assisted living building into a spacious "apartment" where he has round-the-clock care by the very attentive and caring staff. Becca and the whole staff are always there for us. They directly contact me often to keep me up to date regarding any med needs, when he is having a good or bad day, or just any fun info including pics of staff doing fun things with him! We visit several times a week any time we want and are always welcome. Over the past year, we have gotten to know the entire staff so well and love them all! They are so helpful with advice about things that I simply don't know. Senior Buddies also became very important after Dad had a fall and needed some extra care while healing. There are lots of activities including live music which Dad absolutely loves. We are welcome to join in and I often dance with him 🙂 The Lodge does great food and snacks at so many celebrations of Easter, Christmas, Memorial Day, resident birthdays, and on and on. Also, bingo, movies, card games, exercise, etc. The food is excellent and the kitchen staff is always willing to help with particular needs. There is a loving church within walking distance. They send a pastor over once a month who does a sermon and leads in singing and so many residents enjoy that immensely. I know that each resident is known personally and cared for accordingly. I witness this all the time. They even put one of my dad's pictures in the living room because it makes him know it's his home. They do wonderful decorations for EVERY holiday which is so uplifting 🙂 I would highly recommend The Lodge at Leon Springs and its staff to care for your loved ones. Gina Rinas Fair Oaks Ranch, TX

My dad has lived at the Lodge at Leon Springs for nearly seven years. He first lived in an independent cottage for several years. These cottages are perfect little homes. A lot of care and planning went into the design of these cottages, and the campus as a whole. The headwaters for the Leon spring is located on the campus and freely flows out of the hillside and down to a peaceful and gorgeous pond following a rain. So much early settlement and native American history is centered around this immediate area. Residents frequently see wild turkey, deer, racoons, ducks and geese as they make their way to the pond for a drink. It's a lovely place to walk around the pond and greet your neighbors. The cottages have an abundance of windows to view the gorgeous setting, plus a screened-in porch to sit and enjoy the outdoors. The floors are one-level, and each cottage is designed to be accessible by wheelchair. Their website has photos and videos that show these features in detail. There is an abundance of fun activities and ways to get together with your neighbors. Three meals a day are delivered to the residents in their cottages or assisted living rooms, or you could choose to eat in the dining room. Though my dad lived in an independent cottage, he needed some extra help. We chose Senior Buddies, which is an on-site organization. The caregivers helped him shower, washed his clothes and dishes, made his bed, and provided companionship. Just so you know, there are residents who have other caregiving agencies come in too. That is an option, but we chose Senior Buddies because they were convenient, based on the level of care he needed, and the caregivers were wonderful. These agencies are flexible and can provide services based on your needs and some are there full-time all the time, full-time for a period of time, or just a few hours a week. Eventually my dad needed an even higher level of care and he moved to the most wonderful room for him within the assisted living building. This is a Spanish-style converted residence. He has a birds-eye view of the pond and people coming and going. There are many great suites and studios. The team within the assisted living part of the campus is led by Rebecca (Becca) Schroeder. She and each of her staff are incredible! They treated my dad with so much compassion. They gained his trust and became his friends. They are my friends too. Navigating the various outside support services and agencies that may be needed can be difficult. Becca and her staff have been wonderful in helping guide me in making the best decisions I can for my dad so he receives the best care possible. I have learned whether you're a resident, a family member, or a friend helping, you need to develop and keep a consistent line of communication going with all members of those caring for your loved one. One of the biggest challenges for any caregiving organization lately has been COVID. The staff at the Lodge did an outstanding job in navigating this complex and uncertain time, creating a safer environment for residents and staff. In addition to COVID was, Uri, the Texas winter storm of 2021. Based on their dedication to superior care for my dad, and all the residents, from these two events alone, I'd give them 10 stars if I could. My dad and I highly recommend this facility for anyone considering moving to a senior community.

My mom moved into an independent living cottage a couple of months ago. The cottage is roomy and well maintained. She has had an opportunity to meet many of her neighbors and loves to play bingo on Thursdays. She says the food is delicious and loves the seafood meals. Her cottage is right on the pond, and she can sit on her back porch to watch the hawks, ducks, hummingbirds, and fish. The Egyptian geese have 9 babies and they are adorable. Her new place is super close to my house, which is great and not far from the medical center. Also, HEB and Walmart are only a 2 minute drive away. This place has been a great fit for my mom and I highly recommend it.

My mom moved into one of the Cottages over the Thanksgiving Holiday. While this was probably not very convenient for the staff, they made it work. All of the employees from maintenance, housekeeping, to the (sweetest) Community Liaison and Administrator, have been nothing short of helpful, kind, and caring. It’s as if my mom is their mom. I feel extremely satisfied knowing my mom is very happy. She is safe, cared for, and loves the 3 meals delivered to her Cottage everyday. The Lodge even put up a fence around her back area so her beloved dog could go outside. I couldn’t be happier with The Lodge At Leon Springs.

My experience with the Lodge at Leon Springs has been nothing but wonderful, everyone is very kind, caring and extremely helpful. My mom is very happy there and I feel stressed free, knowing that my mom is there. I thank all of you for everything that you do for her. Many thanks and God bless all of you. Mary Fisher

I was able to contact The Lodge and get a response within moments of my elderly mother saying she was moving to San Antonio from Dripping Springs. The staff met me the same day I inquired and then my mother days later to show her the accommodations. They were warm and inviting as well as flexible during the next week, months we were making plans to move her. The price for a double and single Lodge was just right for what she was wanting. The move in was seamless, the meals are warm and delicious, and the staff is caring! What else would I want for my mother. The activities for the occupants is really nice. They also bring in entertainment. My mom enjoys both. The grounds are kept nice and the pond and ducks add a nice touch to the property. The Lodge is close to storage, Walmart and HEB as well as a variety of restaurants! My mother feels safe and taken care of Response time when needed is great. They don’t act like they are bothered by my questions. Thank you all for helping with my mothers well-being! Curtis Cormack

We moved my Mom into her cottage during all this COVID19 mess. Despite ever-changing guidelines and requirements, the staff has been very helpful and accommodating. We chose this facility for the beautiful grounds and cottages. Just a short distance from I10 but it immediately becomes a quiet, country type setting. Would recommend to anyone looking to transition into an Independent/Assisted Living environment.

This was our first time/ experiencing a retirement home, and let me say I have never felt more comfortable and at ease than I have than here. Our initial impressions were impeccable and were only enhanced MORE by the manager/supervisor who takes her expertise and customer service to the absolute best. I was hesitate in putting my grandfather in a retirement home, but I now feel that he will enjoy his stay here and will be taken care of to the best. Thanks you LEON SPRINGS for the helpful transition and my greatest gratitude/condolences to the wonder, Rebecca.

The owners are absolutely amazing caring and loving people. Additionally, Rebecca has been nothing short of amazing and treats everyone like family. Great facility and great staff.

The Lodge at Leon Springs truly is an Oasis in the heart of the NW Dominion, Leon Springs, Boerne Stage area. Located about one half mile west of IH-10E. It's hard to believe that a tranquil setting still exists so close to all the retail businesses a Senior resident needs. As you turn off Boerne Stage Road to the entrance , the signage is clearly marked. Drive a quarter mile and the trappings of busy San Antonio Metro area fall away as if you had suddenly reached that far away vacation spot that is so peaceful to the senses. There is a lake that is fed from the origin spring of Leon Springs. There are beautiful ancient trees that surround the entire property, ducks, fish, deer, lots of wildlife in the area to make it really feel like a resort. But it is not, it's an Assisted Living facility unlike any other I've ever seen. Owner Steve Kitchens has built Bungalow homes surrounding the lake, to accommodate the space needs of couples who want to live in assisted living but in an environment where they still are autonomous. There is also a main house with homelike private rooms, attended to by certified staff. For my wife, Sharyl's case. She is suffers from early onset dementia. This disease became more than I, a retired 33 year Police Officer could handle. When I contacted The Lodge, an appointment was made at our convenience for the Administrator to come to our home to assess my wife, to discern if Sharyl was a candidate for a room inside the main building. Ms. Rebecca Schroeder (Administrator) has wonderful empathy. She is a wealth of information for caregivers, who are struggling with ethical, financial, medical concerns about making the decision to move their loved one in a facility. Rebecca put my overwhelming concerns to rest . I was stressed and depressed. With Mr. Kitchen's tour of facility and Rebecca's assessment the decision that I had to make was easier than I anticipated. From the moment I came on the property, it was a place I would not have guessed to be what it is, secondly, I would live there in a second if I were looking for a place of tranquility, largely unknown within our Metro area. My wife's room is very adequate for her. I was able to move her personal belongings into the room and set them up just as they were at home so as to make her immediately more comfortable. The bathroom in her private room is all I could ever wish for in my own home. The building is quite old, but impeccably maintained and clean like it's a personal home. The Staff, all who are exceptionally cordial are very approachable about any concern or question. You become acquainted with staff of every sort very quickly. They have all actually become friends, partners in the excellent and loving care of my family member. Finally, and for me, one of the best comments I can make. I moved Sharyl in in October 2018. When THANKSGIVING rolled around the next month, I was pleasantly surprised by an invitation to Family and Friends to attend a traditional celebration. The food was absolutely one of the very best Thanksgiving dinners I've had in my 68 years of life. Mom would not like hearing this, but it was better than my Mother's cooking. The food I see served everyday to my wife when I visit looks, smells and is presented in a family style environment where residents who have become well acquainted enjoy their meals with their co-residents. The Lodge is pet friendly. I take my dog almost every time I go. Some residents actually have their family pet living with them. There is not enough good things I can say about this wonderful home away from home that my wife lives at now. The rates are very reasonable. I am Blessed to have found this very home-style setting for her when so many others look corporate, smell antiseptic or foul, and are outrageously priced. 24137 Boerne Stage Road, San Antonio, TX 78255 Joseph "TIM" Reilly
