Awesome community for senior living. Superior savings in comparison to similar opportunities and the care and compassion in both meeting and exceeding the needs of the residents under their wing. Abundance of resources and programs tailored to keep them the head and not the tail. Additionally the lines have been redrawn so that even non military families can now enjoy the opportunity and benefits.

I've worked at Blue Skies for a long time, and so have many others - we stay because people here - both residents and employees - are guided by a desire to always "do the right thing." Great place to live; great place to work!

I stayed the night in their guest room. It was so comfortable and quiet.

I was really impressed by the quality of care given at Blue Skies of Texas. The staff went above and beyond on several occasions and we found the facility overall to be extremely welcoming. The nurses here are simply outstanding.

After reading all the reviews it would appear to me that the people writing negative reviews would not be happy anywhere! Too many positive reviews. I will consider this facility first when I make my move.

so dissapointed with this place and helping my folks move into Blue Skies. Everything has been closed for months onsite. Even with everyone being vaccinated they continue to keep everything closed. They even stopped the cleaning of the apartment for weeks now for my elderly parents saying it was due to covid. Wouldnt you want to have more cleaning with Covid? The restaurants are also closed and they bring food to your apartment. The stove broke 3 weeks ago in my parents apartment in the main building and they won't fix it or replace it! How are they supposed to heat up there meals?!! Tonight the power is off in there room but the lights are on in the hallway!!! So they have power for the hallways but my parents room is below 60F and they are in the dark tonight! I would not recommend having your elderly folks or relative move into this place. Went to speak to the support staff as well and they complained that my dad might be losing his thought ability and he might need help. My father is very sharp and was only asking for help to find a place for a Covid test since its a new area for him. They simply did not want to help or be bothered with the extra work. I am very sad about this whole situation and would recommend looking at all the other options and avoid this retirement community at all costs. Expensive and for the service and how they treat their customers very very sad.

What a blessing Blue Skies of Texas is! I have been in independent living for almost three years. The apartment is comfortable, the staff is great, and the food is wonderful... and the price is cheaper than nearly all quality senior living locations. Thank you Blue Skies!

My husband and I moved into this community this past summer. We wanted to make this move while we were healthy and able to enjoy all it has to offer. Like the saying says, "Better 5 years too early than 5 minutes too late". We have enjoyed the people we have met here. Such an array of interesting backgrounds. The staff is very pleasant to us. The exercise room and pool being so close and accessible has been a big plus for us. There are a large variety of activities to keep you active if interested like: line dancing, water aerobics, yoga, etc. Also, for the mental exercise a nice variety of activities to suit various interests. It has been great to have the freedom to go on trips and not worry about anything at home. It is especially nice to come home after a vacation and not having to face getting caught up on yard and house work.

We have recently moved to and have been independent living residents at Blue Skies of Texas East (BSTE) for almost a year. BSTE is a Life Plan Community with a full continuum of care; Assisted Living, Skilled Nursing, Memory Care, Rehab Services and Hospice Care. This was a big decision that we had been researching and kicking around for several years while trying to make the best choice. After researching/visiting several differing venues (CCRCs, Del Webb, The Villages in Fl., Jimmy Buffet retirement communities, etc.) we settled on BSTE as our forever home. Blue Skies of Texas came out on top because it is both CARF certified and highly rated by Medicare. BSTE is one of only three CARF accredited Continuing Care Retirement Communities (CCRC) in the entire state of Texas indicating a very high level certification for care with management looking for continual improvement, which has really shined throughout this unprecedented Covid-19 pandemic. Downsizing appeared challenging until we finally committed to making the move. We decided an estate sale was the best choice for us as it easily eliminated a lot of unnecessary STUFF along with charitable donations because it was time to make new memories! The staff helped make our relocation extremely easy and the move-in amenities ranged from help with unpacking to picture hanging. The interaction between the residents and the staff is an unbelievable plus as all are very caring and friendly. Our neighbors and fellow residents are also extremely friendly, caring and always willing to give a helping hand. One can be as active as desired since the social amenities here are not only envious, but much more fulfilling than our previous lifestyle. As we learned longevity is attributed to 35% genetics and 65% social life, which is indicated by many wonderful BSTE residents. We couldn't have asked for a better place to live because it's like a cruise ship on land. We highly recommend this to all seniors looking for a more fulfilling, happier, and secure lifestyle.

Guest rooms are always wonderful. My grandmother also really loved living here. There is more closet space than normal. 2 places to eat in the building. Fitness center with pool & classes, computer center, game room, multiple libraries. Services available include on site dental care, prescription pick up, rides to shopping and appointments & beauty shop. Daily activities for residents and a convenience shop like a hotel. Pictures are from guest room.

A great, awesome, wonderful, CARFF certified retirement home. Come by and check us out.

Due to budget costs, the Quality of care and service has gone downhill since my mothers 2nd admission to this place. Always a good idea to just drop in and do a welfare check on your loved one day or nights. You'll see a difference in care. (In general with any facility)

Five years ago, I decided to live at Blue Skies of Texas because it was the best value of the non-profit CCRC's. The many activities, health facilities and wonderful friendships have brought great joy and satisfaction to my life. The secure urban campus next to loop 410 is a gateway to all of the benefits of living in vibrant San Antonio.
