Because of her Dementia, Mom did not tolerate a lot of the stimulation found in larger facilities. She was often at odds with staff and other residents. Flavius and his staff provided a safe and tolerant environment that adjusted to her needs and moods as they changed. His spacious back deck became her refuge when she needed a calming moment. Mom was genuinely fond of Flavius, and he was not easily aggravated by her occasional demands and mood swings. I recommend him without reservation!

My mother who is now 81 years olden was formally diagnosed with Dementia, resigned at La Cantera Asssisted Living and Memory Care. Prior to moving in, my mother's life was a chaos. Due to her mental condition, she was not eating regularly, likely was not eating healthy and was not taking her medications properly or at all. She was combative, very aggressive and complained daily that everyone's stealing from her - what we now know and understand to be results of her dementia. La Cantera Assisted Living and their provider, Flavius played a critical role in stabilizing her mentally and physically and transitioning her from a terrible living situation to a normal life. Thus her combativeness and aggression disappeared after a few weeks, and for the first time in many years, we were able to have normal and pleasant interactions with her. We were able to take her to dental and medical appointments that she desperately needed without fear that her combative behaviors would disrupt those services. In addition, for the first time in many years, my mother had healthy, regularly-scheduled meals. In fact, she began to gain weight within a month on moving into La Cantera Assisted Living and Memory Care. We will always be grateful to Flavius and the staff for playing a critical, much needed role in improving my mother's quality of life.
