When my mother went on hospice we were referred to a couple of personal care homes. After visiting a few, we picked Alternative Senior Care. Mom was well cared for in cleanliness, diet and medication - all her needs were well managed with compassion and sincere affection. Flavius was very responsive to all questions and requests and kept us informed at all times. He is a loving and compassionate caregiver and I highly recommend his care center for seniors.

Amazing personal care individualized to the patient. My uncle has been there over a year. My uncle was type 2 diabetic when he went in. He took insulin using a sliding scale and was not able to self administer or calculate. They were so good about his medication administration and diet control with food he liked that his A1C went down from 8.5% to 6.4%. He no longer needs insulin injections. Highly recommend this establishment. We've been through 4 other places prior to here. Alternative Senior Living has higher quality one on one care. Other places we were always faced with not having enough staff.

My dad suffered from dementia, accelerated by two accidents involving traumatic brain injury. Over the course of two years, I moved him from hospitals, to rehabilitation centers, to assisted living, and then into memory care. Over and over again, I was displeased with the care my dad was receiving and the lack of communication from staff. Toward the end of his life, my dad was being sent to the emergency room on an almost daily basis. The doctor at his final trip to the emergency room put us in touch with a hospice coordinator, who referred me to Alternative Senior Care, and Flavius. Flavius made time immediately to meet with me and then to come to the hospital to meet my dad. Thankfully, there was one room available in his six bedroom facility. Flavius and our hospice care team coordinated my dad's move from the hospital into Alternative Senior Care. From the very first moment I contacted Flavius, his high levels of compassion, empathy, and patience were evident. My dad spent his last four months under Flavius' care. I visited my dad almost daily and was always met by an impeccably clean facility and attentive staff. I knew undoubtedly that my father was receiving respectful treatment and care under Flavius' directive, and from the hospice staff who came in regularly. Flavius communicated with me constantly and was always available to me when I had questions, concerns, or just to listen to me as I was grieving my father's decline. I felt comforted knowing that when I was not able to be with my dad, he was in a home atmosphere. My dad passed away mid-January. Those last few days were especially emotionally difficult for me, and Flavius was a constant source of compassion and knowledge. If your loved one is in need of care, and there is a room available at Alternative Senior Care, I would encourage you to secure that space and know that your loved one will be looked after with the utmost respect, dignity and care.

Because of her Dementia, Mom did not tolerate a lot of the stimulation found in larger facilities. She was often at odds with staff and other residents. Flavius and his staff provided a safe and tolerant environment that adjusted to her needs and moods as they changed. His spacious back deck became her refuge when she needed a calming moment. Mom was genuinely fond of Flavius, and he was not easily aggravated by her occasional demands and mood swings. I recommend him without reservation!
