Reviews Conservatory at Plano
October 2024
I recently moved my mother into The Conservatory in Plano. She had been living in a senior center in Colorado Springs but decided she wanted to live closer to family so I began the process of visiting numerous senior centers in Plano, Dallas, and Carrollton (I had gone through the same extensive search in Colorado Springs about 5 years earlier when we moved her from her single-family home into senior living). I believe I looked at 8 different facilities in the area and just loved The Conservatory. All the staff and administration are incredible friendly but the most impressive feature is that all the residents that you see (and there are so many buzzing through the halls and involved in activities) seem so happy to be there. Smiles everywhere! After my initial visit I probably went back 5-6 more times to relook just to make sure I was making the right choice and I just have to give a special shout out to Marjorie Fulmer. This woman is patient beyond belief with all the questions from me, all the questions from my mom, all the times my mom waffled about whether or not she wanted to move, when she wanted to move and on and on. Marjorie was understanding, flexible, and always on the lookout for the right space to accommodate my mom's shifting wants and desires. She was always looking out for us and got us exactly what mom wanted. To this point in time I could not be happier and I have no doubts that this is going to be the right fit for mom!

We toured several places before deciding The Conservatory would be the best fit for our parents. It has been a great place for them - the staff is very helpful and kind. Shequila was very patient and helped us secure a good apartment for them. They have great amenities - my father has even been able to do physical therapy right there on site. Our parents have made new friends and really enjoy living there. We feel that they are safe and have lots of activities they can participate in. We're very happy we chose The Conservatory!

The Conservatory at Plano was warm and welcoming as we brought my mother in law for a tour. Shequila Holt was so patience and kind. She took the time to answer all our questions and has continued to follow up as we go through this transition. The building and residential units were well maintained and the amenities provided to residents was well thought out. I recommend the Conservatory of Plano be on your consideration list.

Leaving a home of 43 years is not easy. I helped my parents tour places and make a decision for their next home. I thought this was going to be tough for my parents, but the transition went better than expected. Shequila not only took us on a tour several times, but also helped us navigate this change. She was so patient and helpful. I was grateful to her for helping my parents see the exciting possibilities of moving to the Conservatory. Michael, the executive director goes beyond his job. He is personable and kind to the residents. On the first day, we were having trouble with the TV. He immediately came to the apartment to see if he could help. Once they moved in, the other residence were friendly and welcoming. My parents made many new friends right away. They keep busy with the different activities that are offered: games, movies, singing entertainment, happy hour (their favorite), exercise classes, volunteering in the store and water aerobics just to name a few. I am so happy my parents have a place they can truly call home. If you or your parents are looking for the next place, I would HIGHLY recommend The Conservatory Of Plano!
September 2024
My dad and I toured a few places to get a feel for what independent living was like and how much it would cost. He waited about 6 months before asking to go back to two places for second visits. Both times Shequila took time to show us around and answer all our questions. The move was easy and he adjusted quickly and enjoys going to the dining room and eating with other people everyday. We are both very pleased with The Conservatory and their staff. They really care about and get to know each and every resident.

My stay here at Conservatory of Plano has been the best. I have lived here over a year. I tell anyone who asked that I am living the dream. The staff is so accommodating, friendly, and cheerful. There is always some activity going on, and lots of things that are entertaining. We are encouraged to participate in lots of things. I especially enjoy line dancing twice a week. Its great exercise, which is great! Also, the food is exceptional. Lots of variety, never boring, three meals a day. It didn't take me long to feel right at home…its easy to make friends.

Thank you to Shequila Holt and all the staff at The Conservatory Plano for the welcoming tour and visit with my parents last week. From the time set aside to visit and discuss questions, to the tour of the facility, to allowing us to stay and talk with residents during happy hour and dinner, each step was gracious, non threatening, and reflected what I believe to be the culture at The Conservatory which is supportive and an extension of family. The activities and amenities are wonderful but it's the residents that make TC special. Thank you!

My parents moved into the Conservatory a year ago from their home of many years. They choose the Conservatory over several other proprerties for its beautiful facilities, floorplans, food & activities. In addition, they had several friends already living there. While any property can look great on a tour, where the Conservatory has really stood out is in the staff -especially executive director Michael Collins. He has gone far above and beyond expectations in making them feel at home. We have been so pleased with their experience and can highly recommend the Conservatory at Plano.

Sheguila was amazing! Compassionate, caring, and thoroughly answered all my questions. She spent 1 1/2 hours showing us around and giving explanations of all services, etc. I will definitely keep this in mind for my mom.
February 2024
Shequila Holt was excellent. The place was great -- clean, upscale, friendly people, beautiful. Shequila spent a lot of time with my mother and family, explaining everything -- answering questions. Great place. She was great.

When my mom made the decision to downsize and sell the home her and my dad had lived in for 40 years, it was an emotional and difficult decision. It was also the first big decision she had made without him in over 50 years. We lost our dad in 2021 and it has been so incredibly difficult for our whole family, but of course, for my mom most of all. We toured The Conservatory and right away, we just knew. Shequila was absolutely incredible. She is so warm, welcoming and put my mom at ease instantly. She is so prompt in communications and was there every step of the way. I know she will continue to be there to help with anything needed and the support given….it makes all the difference. The whole staff at The Conservatory have been beyond fantastic. The Conservatory is beautiful. It truly does feel like a luxury hotel. The residents have been so kind, friendly and are going out of their way to make my mom feel welcomed and at home. She just moved in and I know that once she is adjusted, she will absolutely feel she has made the best decision. I am one of 5 children and each of us are just thrilled with The Conservatory. We could not be happier!!

This is a wonderful place to live. People are very friendly and welcoming. The staff care about the residents and community. Calm, stress free atmosphere and a joy to participate in community activities.

This is the third Senior Residence that I have lived in, and I am truly pleased. The facilities are very attractive and the management personnel are top-notch. Manager is always a step ahead of residence needs and "stays visible!" When there have been unexpected weather challenges management had solutions. On-site professional services for private assistance help meet unexpected care needs, this includes physical therapy services available. Gym has a full-time professional trainer and so many options for all levels of physical activity. The dining services offer table services, take-out, and private Room Service on request. Menu options are varied and creative. My apartment is perfect for my needs. Higher ceilings, attractive woodwork and flooring create a calm and comfortable home. We all enjoy the quick response to any maintenance needs! Skilled staff keeps our lovely building in good condition. Multiple, well placed elevators bring residents close to major areas of activity. There are many other value-added services at The Conservatory. I hardily recommend being "at Home" in The Conservatory!
November 2023
We have a chef who understands both the use of spices and preparing meals that are visually appealing. Vegetables are crisp, meats are prepared in a variety of ways, and options for carbohydrates are appealing and interesting. He is truly an asset to the Conservatory!
October 2023
Bobbie Rosenbloom 2023 has been one of the best years of my life. This is the year that I found happiness and a feeling of well being. All this, I attribute to living at the Conservatory Independent Living Community. This place is unbelievable; the staff is very caring, and all aim to please. The activities are enriching, and enjoyable. It has been said that it is like living at a country club. The amenities are too many to mention. When I first arrived at the Conservatory, I was depressed, and unenergetic. My daughter was very concerned about me. She thought I needed an assisted living facility. When I requested to view the property, my daughter asked for a wheelchair. My daughter, Debra, reluctantly permitted me to sign the lease. Of course, everything about the Conservatory was perfect. Debra's only concern was my inability to cope in an independent living environment. She insisted that I buy a scooter to get around. She was afraid I wouldn't be able to get to the dining room. Well, after living here for a period of time, I proved my daughter wrong. Not only was I able to get around without a scooter, I was able to attend all activities, and excursions. I did all this with a walker. My whole attitude changed. I was more cheerful, vivacious, and enthusiastic. I transformed from an introvert to a person who enjoyed socializing with the other residents. All the residents are so nice, more like family than friends. All of this I attribute to the Conservatory, and all that they offer. I have one example that proves what I have said. The other day, I had a neighbor from my previous home dine with me at the Conservatory. I hadn't seen her for about a year. She took one look at me and couldn't believe how I had transformed. Her exact words were "You are glowing, more youthful, and seem so very content and happy". Thank you Conservatory for changing my life!

From the moment I walked into the Conservatory at Plano, I knew it was the right place for my mom. Their attention to detail is amazing. The facility is beautiful, immaculate, and feels very safe. The staff bends over backwards to help its residents with any need they might have. I'm not an easy person to please and I am extremely picky about food. This is not your typical bland, cafeteria type food. It is restaurant style, well seasoned, chef prepared, and truly delicious (try the salmon)! For those who use a walker, scooter or wheelchair, the staff is very helpful in helping each resident into their seat in the dining room and then serving them. Executive Director, Michael Collins is polished, professional, warm and kind. He runs a tight ship, and it shows in every aspect of the facility. Be sure to ask for Marjorie Fulmer for a personalized tour. She is the nicest, most thoughtful person you will ever meet, and she is so good at her job. I especially appreciated her invitation to have lunch with her in the dining room. We had so many questions and she was so patient and knowledgeable. She is the reason my mom is now a resident. Overall...BEST PLACE EVER!!!
October 2022
The individuals who provided us with multiple tours really did a spectacular job. We are moving our mother-in-law here from Tennessee and we were very impressed by everything at the conservatory. We spoke with a number of residents as we toured the facility and all were extremely happy. The rooms are exceptionally good, the price is very very good particularly when you consider that virtually everything is included INCLUDING restaurant quality meals. We had lunch there and it was indeed restaurant quality food, not cafeteria food. The number of activities that they offer is far more than any person could participate in. There is something for everyone. They have a lot of committees to collect input from the residence for offsite excursions, movies, things to carry in the store, art and craft activities, groups to form, etc. The grounds are beautiful and the Bluebonnet walking trail is right there at the facility. One of the other things we particularly liked is that you can get from any apartment to the dining room any of the many activity areas without going outside. So when it is raining hard or freezing cold or extremely hot there is no need to go outside if you don’t want to. They have vans and cars that will also take you anywhere within a 10 mile radius. And they have regular van trips to common stores like Walgreens, CVS, Whole Foods, Kroger, etc. There is an on-site primary care physician, a healthcare option for personalized rehab or physical strength programs. We couldn’t find a single negative thing about The Conservatory.
October 2022
Having previewed numerous independent living communities in this area the Conservatory of Plano for me was an easy choice. I am not disappointed! This is now “home!” It is elegant, warm, well maintained and the management and staff are amazing. They are warm, caring and always go above and beyond to meet any need or challenge. My small companion dog and I have made so many new friends and we are delighted to have found “The Conservatory of Plano. It’s a gem!!! Come have a look at Happy Hour…we are all smiles…

My parents moved to the Conservatory of Plano 1 month ago after 50+ years in a home. The Conservatory offered a beautifully apportioned 2 bedroom option that was a perfect fit for my parents. The community is the perfect size (not too big, not too small) and is centrally located to shopping, restaurants, medical facilities, etc. The community has everything they need: excellent chef prepared meals in a beautiful dining area, multiple gathering spaces, fitness center, beauty salon, movie theater, lovely outdoor spaces, a Dr who visits the facility weekly and a variety of activities to participate in. The staff has been wonderful to work with and are helpful in answering questions and responsive to requests. The staff really takes an interest in the residents and getting to know them and their families. Shequlia made the process smooth and organized from touring, to signing the contract, to move in. Thank you!

My mom lived at The Conservatory in Plano for a year and a half before moving to an assisted living community. She had a spacious 2-bedroom apartment with a full kitchen, even though she rarely need it! She thoroughly enjoyed her time in the community. They did a fantastic job through Covid and the Ice storm of January to keep up resident activities and their spirits, doing door to door "Happy Hour" and the like. Plenty of spacious beautiful hallways to walk and exercise no matter what the weather. She especially enjoyed the excellent dining services. She was able to get foot care, therapies, etc., in her apartment/community, which saved trips out during the height of the pandemic. The community was offering booster Covid vaccine shots in September, ahead of the community she lives now. When the time came to move her due to her care needs the Executive Director, Michael Collins and staff couldn't have been more helpful in facilitating the move. Also kudos to Jo love, and Janet from the Dining staff for their kindness to mom. Highly recommend the community.

The journey for my Mom and Step-Dad to reach the front doors of The Conservatory at Plano has been several years in the making due to COVID. But they will finally be making the move in May 2022. Shequila has been a trooper helping us navigate our way to the place we're in today. Her patience and understanding will never be forgotten. I am so glad she was there for us the entire way. Michael was so welcoming to us all, both before signing day and after. Both are such professionals. Just know if you are seeking a place to hang your hat, dance a jig, eat delicious meals, play bridge or just enjoy meeting new friends, The Conservatory at Plano will definitely not disappoint. Thanks again.

My parents moved from Arizona to the Conservatory in Plano in late 2021. Shequila and Michael are warm and accommodating and helped our family pick the right accommodations. Their attention to detail and hard work helped make the transition effortless. The Conservatory is beautifully appointed and provides multiple offerings (movie theater, heated outdoor pool, beauty salon, fitness center, beautiful and spacious dining room, etc.) to make it an all-inclusive facility. The apartments are spacious and well kept. All the staff from maintenance to housekeeping to food service are responsive and friendly. There is a doctor who visits the facility weekly which makes it super easy to ensure that my parents are well looked after. The van and car service gives them the flexibility and freedom to leave the community for various reasons. Overall, we are very pleased that we chose the Conservatory.
March 2022
Transitioning a parent to an independent living facility can be difficult. Change brought a high degree of apprehension for our Dad who wanted to continue to live in his home of 50 years after our Mom passed away. Shequila, Conservatory at Plano's Senior Lifestyle Coordinator, did a great job assisting our family, first in helping us to see that this was the right place for Dad, and then explaining the move in details so we knew what to expect. After two months of adjusting, our Dad is venturing out and finding things to do outside his very comfortable apartment. The Conservatory at Plano has so many activities for varied interests. He has enjoyed meeting other residents in the halls and in the dining room. The residents are friendly and interested to meet a new face. He enjoys spending time in the courtyard sitting with a cup of coffee while soaking in the sunshine. He works-out on equipment in the exercise room and plays shuffleboard when his daughters visit. In the months ahead we can see him venturing out even more. The transition for our Dad was made easier because everyone in the Conservatory at Plano was so caring. From the Director, Michael, to the receptionists to housekeeping and the waitstaff in the dining room, all have been pleasant and accommodating. Our family is very pleased and thankful to have our Dad closer to us in a safe, inviting environment.

I have had a great experience with Conservatory. They have been easy to work with and even with the difficult times we have had recently due to inclimate weather, upper management has always been very responsive and had the best customer service. I would recommend them without reservation.

My dad moved in about 2 months ago. The staff at the Conservatory were very helpful and friendly. The Director is new but very knowledgeable and kind. My dad loves her. Tobie has a way of making you feel welcome as soon as you come in to tour. Their attention to my dad from start to move in and continued attention is why we chose the Conservatory.

what a delightful facility. from the Napoleon Bonaparte portraits and the spiral staircases just passed the lobby to the upscale apartments for the residents. By far the most elegant senior living facility in the DWF metroplex in my humble opinion.

I love the Conservatory! My Mom lives here for the past 7 years. She loves the 5 star dining, the heated pools, the movie theater and the field trips to restaurants etc. They play games and cards. There is always something going on!This is an independent living facility with apartment living. They have one or two bedroom apartments. It is a great benefit to my Mom and will be for your Mom!

I have been a resident of Conservatory Plano for nearly 8 years. I am happy to recommend Conservatory Plano to others who might be looking for a community. I like that everything is in just one building. I also appreciate the fine dining they offer in the beautiful dining room. We have art classes in the art studio and I was able to learn to paint. Have now painted many pictures. I also grow flowers in the community garden beds.

It is hard to put into words what I feel about The Conservatory – Plano.I am in the business of introducing clients to senior living facilities with my company, Home Transitions. But when my mom decided to move out from San Diego to live near me in Plano, TX, I went on a 20 – facility look-see in Collin County. I whittled down the list to the top 6 and had my mom out for a week of her own review and decision. What she did not know was I had put a deposit down on an apartment at The Conservatory. It ended up, it was her decision too!Just moving from a daily view of the Pacific Ocean; country club life with 28 years of friends is transition enough! But add parting with most of your belongings and the impression that you are losing your independence, accepting the fact that you no longer can do for yourself. The Conservatory – Plano is like a summer breeze. It slowly envelops you with its beautiful surroundings but most importantly, the friendly, family support that lightly hugs and understands! You slowly loose the loss of the Pacific. You look forward to amazing meals in their dining room offering daily menus, personal service and maître, dining supervisors Pedro and John (who know your name Day 1); seat you with those they think you might enjoy meeting. It is a GREAT centerpiece to the facility and HUGE cornerstone to feeling you belong. From the start, the long-terms spoke about the friendly staff. It is why they are long-term and still enjoying the life! But two stand outs are Tobie and Kellie. Tobie was our first touch to The Conservatory! As the Admission Director, she helped us lock in a place (twice), supported little coordination issues with the move but… has the most generous and warm heart. She becomes your best friend as if you are the only one in the place! And Kellie is the ever-present Executive Director. She is relatively new herself yet knows everyones name, family, concerns and, I understand, has single-handedly made The Conservatorys offer to the residents dramatically improved – noted by a full house! With a lot of words, I still have not keyed into what The Conservatory has done for my mom (and me) in her transition from the home she loved to a beautiful new lifestyle where she feels she belongs and can flourish.Thank –you.
February 2017
My Mom loves it! Staff is friendly and helpful. Food is terrific. Negatives: 1. All floors look the same in color & decorations and it can be confusing if you get off the elevator on the wrong floor. 2. Lack of supports for those with poor vision, reading activities calendar or food menu, signage such as floor#, exits, or elevator that says the floor number.
