I had the opportunity to meet with the Executive Director Eddie and his staff. He is dedicated to ensure that his residents have the best quality of life possible from hosting events, to offering delicious food, to working with partners that are as committed to the elderly has he is. The building looks clean, smells clean and the residents were happy and engaging with newcomers! This property is a great asset to the community!

Where do I even begin about Redbud Place! What a marvelous facility!!! I work in the case management field and have had multiple "knock-your-socks-off" visits to Redbud Place. As a healthcare provider, I consider myself a pretty tough judge of character when evaluating a facility and their ability to provide excellence to our community... Redbud Place has exceeded my expectations! Not only is their facility in excellent condition, they are clean, the residents are happy, and the food is AMAZING! To top it all off they possess a team of highly trained professionals who care deeply for their residents and strive towards maintaining the highest level of quality. Eddie Phelps is the new Executive Director at Redbud Place Assisted Living Facility. My mom moved to Redbud Place in 2021. We had a few issues with Redbud Management the first few years my mom was here. When Eddie took the Executive Director job at Redbud he resolved the few management issues. My mom suggested how pretty a new magnolia tree would be in the outdoor garden. Eddie bought a new Black Tulip Magnolia Tree the next day for my mom and other residents. It made my mom happy to know he listened to her suggestion and bought the beautiful tree for her and all the residents to enjoy in years to come. Our family is extremely pleased with Eddie’s Management changes, and the care mom receives at Redbud.

Chelsea Waggoner is the Activities Director at Redbud Place Assisted Living Facility. She always has a smile on her face and genuinely cares about each resident and their well-being. Chelsea plans fun activities and makes sure each resident feels valued. She plans all the fun Assisted Living themed parties and games. Chelsea paints all the lady resident’s fingernails and gives them manicures to make them feel pretty. My mom has mentioned the positive impact Chelsea has had on her, since she moved into Redbud Place in 2021. My mom got Covid in 2022 and developed serious secondary medical issues. We brought my mom back to Redbud on Hospice with hopes and prayers she would recover. Chelsea visited my mom every day with a smile and encouraging words. My mom started to improve and fully recovered within the next year. I believe Chelsea helped my mom recover and made her feel cared for at Redbud. I am thankful for Chelsea’s commitment, dedication, and love for the Redbud Place Residents.

Every time I come here the staff are always so nice and welcoming. They have top tier hospitality and customer service. Always great activities going on and you can tell the people that work here love what they do and care about the residents and the residents all seem very happy and pleasant. I would recommend Redbud Place to anyone. It is the most caring, loving community in Mckinney. Maw & Paw feel,I have been visiting this community for years. I truly love spending time with Chelsea the activities director and the residents. She has gone beyond to give her residents the best care at the end of every day! Her compassion shows. Eddie the new director is the most welcoming individual I have ever met. His compassion also shows! What a wonderful pleasure it is to walk in a community and see everyone smiling and doing what they love best.The whole TEAM Just phenomena. The delicious smell of the comfort food coming out of the kitchen simply outstanding, The housekeeper’s always smiling and loving their residence giving hugs while providing them a cleanness. I would recommend this community to anyone looking for a a forever home for their loved ones. Truly love this environment

My neighbor and very dear friend lived at Redbud. I visited her on a regular basis and was always greeted with a smile. It was very clean and organized. She loved all the activities Chelsea planned (especially Bingo, chair exercises and the singers and instrumentalists that came). The staffs visits to the room to visit were something she always looked forward to. All of the staff was so caring towards her. They looked after her and even visited her when she was in the hospital. The family dinners were always so special, a good time to meet everyone. My neighbor made so many special friends at Redbud and so did I.

This place is a hidden gem nestled in the neighborhoods of McKinney. A home feeling that mom or dad would like and a community full of caring people. Chelsea the activity director has been there for 10+ years and treats the residents like her own. Love this place!

Redbud is a wonderful community, last week I was there and I saw the Executive Director and Activities Director working out in the courtyard- laying new mulch and pulling weeds. The residents were so happy to see their home being cleaned up for Spring. Eddie and Chelsi were careful to include the residents in a way that had them excited about the process. These two employees go above and beyond and outsiders like myself and more importantly the families and residents are taking notice! What a great team you have at Redbud!

Good Morning. I have been a Resident of Redbud for almost four years. We now have the best Director, and Staff we've ever had. Our wonderful is making meals that make your mouth water. And, everyone else on the Staff have made this feel like home. All I can say is Thank You over and over..

I love this place. I choose Redbud myself when I realized I was to the point of need some assistance. I can do all my own fun projects and come and go when I want. The staff are all super fantastic and never to busy to help if you need it. Lots of events that are coordinated by lovely Chelsea. We have a great Director who is great and not shy of helping and getting to know everyone. The food I'd fantastic and plenty if it. My home is cleaned by Becky every week and laundry also done by the staff every week. All of the staff here are fantastic and to many to mention them all..and to top it all off the residents are all great. We help each other if needed and make great friends. Like I said in the beginning ILOVE THIS PLACE and all the people. My son can even bring Freedom my 4 legged grandson to see me.

I was very impressed with the facility. I was even more impressed with the staff. Everyone from the front desk to the Executive Director Monica Gurrola really took the time to make me feel comfortable and feel right at home. I could clearly see that this is a place where the people really care. Would highly recommend.

Last year, this was a good place, except for one person who seemed untrustworthy. Lately, several long-term staff have left, and "agency" people are being used as caregivers. If the cook is not there, they get pizza or sandwiches, sooner or later. If the maintenance man is out, things don't get maintained. For a while, the cleaning lady was doing the cooking, so she couldn't clean. Residents are supposed to have a menu from which to choose, but they really don't. The carpet in the lobby is dirty and worn. They advertise "luxury" accommodations. Price is over $5000 per month.

I go to redbud often for community service, and they are very friendly towards me. My grandmother is a resident, and she is very happy. The other residents are also very kind and fun to visit with.

I too was very impressed with the facility. The director was very gracious and lovely and really appeared interested in the folks. In speaking to one woman who had only been there 3 months, she said she loved it. The place appeared clean and friendly. The food looked quite good also.
