The manager team of Patty and Jamie are terrific they will bend over backwards to make your stay here comfortable. The activities director stays so busy taking care of all of us and keeping us busy from making ginger bread houses to bingo.

I want to take this opportunity to sing amazing praises to this beautiful community in McKinney, Pioneer Ridge Gracious Retirement Living. I have visited many senior communities in my career and this community stands out as one of THE BEST. It's not your normal independent living… by a long shot! Hawthorn Senior Living has it down and knows how to run a community PERECTLY with every attention to detail! From the genuinely caring teams of managers that live on site to all the staff members and residents, everyone is very happy, and you will feel that when you walk through their beautiful front entrance! This truly is a FAMILY! I have witnessed many residents move in and improve their quality of life because they want to enjoy all this beautiful community has to offer! Dances, gardening, activities, cooking and exercise classes, beautiful theater, gym, outings galore, food (oh my, the FOOD… unbelievably delicious and farm to table fresh!). If you are considering a new home for yourself or your loved one, don't hesitate to visit Pioneer Ridge… you too will not be disappointed! Even if it isn't time to make the move, go by and see what all the buzz is about so you will know! Have a meal on them, they will enjoy welcoming you as they did me.

Management sets the tone of an independent living community, and the on-site managers at Pioneer Ridge, particularly Jamie and Patti Miller, are always willing to listen and eager to help my dad with even minor concerns. They are the consummate professionals while maintaining an approachable demeanor. He felt he could drop by their office at any time. Marketing Director Angel Piorkowski gave us a thorough initial tour and then has followed up with him frequently to be sure he was settling in well. Meal quality is almost equally important to seniors, and every meal at Pioneer Ridge offers a wide range of delicious choices, including specialty desserts and/or a dessert trolley. Breakfast of oatmeal with raisins and scrambled eggs was one of my dad's favorites. And the young servers are always efficient and friendly. The managers themselves serve beverages, enabling them to chat briefly with all the residents and casually check on them. Background music is turned down to facilitate table conversation. Accomplished residents often play the grand piano, or community groups provide brief concerts before or after meals. Other amenities my dad enjoyed are the weekly thorough room cleaning and the conveniently located exercise room open 24 hours a day with a variety of machines and a golf-course view. The large, deep balcony in his apartment has a great view of the golf course too. The common areas are attractive and comfortable, and the entire building is well maintained. Pets are allowed. A wide range of activities is available throughout the day and evening. And transportation is regularly available for doctor visits and shopping. Also very helpful for seniors is the prime location within easy walking distance of a drug store, post office, bank, large grocery store, dry cleaner, auto repair shop, and a range of restaurants. The Pioneer Ridge community is truly the "gracious retirement living" they advertise to be, and my dad was pleased to recommend it to a friend who moved in shortly after he did.

My husband and I were having lunch today at LJS in McKinney at around 1:30. As we were sitting there we observed an assistant coming in with an elderly gentleman. The assistant was rude to the cashier and wouldn't even let the elderly gentleman speak for himself. I do not like seeing those that we put in charge to assist with our elderly treating them and others in such a manner. I am sure that y'all do a great job, but please speak to this employee about showing the elderly and others more kindness. This is not acceptable. I got your info from the bus they got back on.

Wonderful place, great, caring manager. Could not have found a more caring warming place for my dad to live. We were looking for a retirement apartment for my dad that was closer to myself and my brother. We found this place with help from a Place for Mom and could not have asked for a better experience. Unfortunately, my dad didn't stay long due to on going health concerns, but the staff here took amazing care of my dad while he was there. My mom has been a resident since 2019. She loves Pioneer Ridge as well as the staff. The ability to eat with familiar faces every day and have friends to do various activities with (especially cards and day trips) are things my mom most cherishes about Pioneer Ridge. I highly suggests families consider Pioneer Ridge as a place for their loved one.

Nice retirement community with very friendly residents, 3 meals per day and lots of activities. Good options for transition from independent to assisted without having to move locations Staff is friendly, but we often get conflicting information and have to mention items a few times.

I have enjoyed the staff and the activities. Meals are always different and varied. I have met some very nice individuals and making new friends. We also have a bridge group. The staff helps us keep physically fit and mentally challenged. A very enjoyable home for me now.

The moment we walked through the door, Pioneer Ridge had the welcoming feeling of being home. It's bright, open, beautifully decorated and yet, it felt comfortable. The manager team, which consists of two couples ( Mike, Rebecca, Chuck, and Candy) live on the premises. They are available if needed. They are there to help in any way possible. Pioneer Ridge has many amenities. A few amenities include an impressive movie theater with popcorn, exercise and billiard rooms, outside fire pit overlooking a golf course. Pastries, homemade cookies, coffee, juices and fresh fruit offered daily. My family and grand kids favorite, an ice cream machine that tastes like custard! The activity coordinator, June has exciting things planned daily for any who wish to participate! The food is outstanding ( which was one of our top requirements). The food is prepared by a top notch wonderful Chef! The meals are 5 star with many options. The friendly staff goes out of their way to help and make everyone feel special. After touring all the other retirement communities in our area, of course, we chose Pioneer Ridge. My parent have felt like an honored guest daily..All of my family has been treated like family. When we visit, we feel like we are home. It's a big family atmosphere including managers, support staff, and residents. My husband and I wish we could live there too! PIONEER RIDGE IS THE BEST RETIREMENT COMMUNITY.....IT LIVES UP TO ITS NAME.....GRACIOUS LIVING. THANK YOU PIONEER RIDGE FOR BEING THE BEST RETIREMENT COMMUNITY!

My father -in-law was a resident of Pioneer Ridge Gracious Retirement Living for 5 years before we as a family decided that he needed to be closer to us. The entire time he was with Pioneer Ridge we never worried about him . Pioneer Ridge is a family and gave us a good peace of mind knowing he was well cared for. What a wonderful independent living facility. My in-laws were Pioneer Ridge residents and loved the facility. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate them and us. Unfortunately we had to move them into assisted living, but the staff at Pioneer Ridge was very helpful with recommendations and assisting us with moving out. I would strongly recommend Pioneer Ridge to anyone looking for independent living in the McKinney/Frisco/Allen area.

We are fortunate to have found Pioneer Ridge when my parents needed it the most. Candy, Chuck, June and the entire staff are excellent and treat my parents with dignity and respect. Brenda was extremely helpful in navigating me through the process and offered lots of advice so that I could make the best decision for my parents. There are so many activities that it's impossible to be bored and they highly-encourage family members to visit as often as possible, including to take part in the activities. I saw first-hand how much fun the seniors had playing Bingo and even got to attend their 'prom' celebration. The food is top notch and all of the services that they include make it easy to transition in without requiring a car. When our family sat down and did the numbers, it truly is an excellent value for the money and I have the comfort of knowing that my parents are fed, engaging with others their age and even have some comforts they didn't have in their old apartment (like housekeeping, a gym and library). Thanks to the entire Pioneer team for making my parents feel like VIP's each and every day.

Michael, one of the managers, assured me that the issue would be taken care of promptly. He couldn't have been more correct. Everything was done perfectly and on time. Pioneer Ridge's cheerful, helpful staff and residents quickly made me feel comfortable and "at home". My favorite activity was the regular morning exercise class held in the community room facing a wide view of a nearby golf course.

After MUCH research and deliberation while helping my parents find the right retirement residency for them in the North Dallas area, we all decided that Pioneer Ridge was the best choice and we have been proven right to date. From the management, staff, buildings, amenities, and services; Pioneer Ridge does NOT disappoint. My parents continue to rave about the wonderful meals, and after eating there myself multiple times, I can attest to the quality of the food. The residences are comfortable and are cleaned weekly by the helpful staff. The common areas are warm and inviting for visiting or just relaxing. The dining area looks like a high end restaurant. The theater room looks like and mini Cinemark. Amenities including fun activities, exercise room, and transportation services that are extremely helpful and convenient. If you are in the process of considering a retirement residence for yourself or your loves one(s), be sure to include Pioneer Ridge in your deliberations. It truly is Gracious Retirement Living. Addendum: My parents are having to transition to assisted living but are doing so with great sadness having to leave Pioneer Ridge after almost 5 years as residence. They loved living at Pioneer Ridge. I consider this to be a very high quality independent living senior residence. It has been a great place and a tremendous experience for my parents. I highly recommend Pioneer Ridge.
