The facility was very warm and welcoming. I was greeted immediately by the concierge. It was decorated beautifully for the season. I was taken on a facility tour by the activities director, she was very kind and friendly, she gave us a thorough tour. The facility is in an excellent location. I was first introduced to Novellus in Kingwood when I needed to quickly have a solution in place for my father as he recovers from an illness and transitioned out of rehab. I toured Novellus and another assisted living residence in Kingwood. I was very impressed with the cleanliness and beauty of the facility and was so touched with the warmth and welcome of the leadership team and several of the residence at Novellus. Additionally, Tamro, the Executive Director, came to the rescue to help me with renting furniture for my dad's room. She truly went the extra mile to ensure his room was furnished just perfectly. I believe my dad is in an ideal environment to heal and gain strength before he moves back home.

Weekend before last, Tamro Lewis, the executive director of Novellus Kingwood, gave me a tour of their facility and talked with me at length about the services provided in assisted living. I was anxious and worried when I arrived. When I left hours later, after having talked with Ms. Lewis and asked a ton of questions, I felt more knowledgeable and confident about my conclusion that it was time for my parents to move to assisted living, and hopeful that this life transition could be a good thing and actually improve their quality of life. Last Friday, I returned for another visit, bringing my parents with me. Ms. Lewis again was generous with her time, talking with my parents about Novellus, giving them information about the assisted living program without trying to sell them on the property. My previously skeptical dad seemed interested and intrigued. We were invited to have lunch in the dining room and enjoyed a delicious meal as we talked and looked out over the courtyard. After lunch, Ms. Lewis took us on a tour of the building. We saw some residents playing Bingo, another walking her dogs, and others visiting with each other or with staff. The mood in the building felt happy and comfortable. We then went to see the apartment that my parents are considering. Ms. Lewis showed us the apartment, but allowed my parents to explore the space and ask questions, putting no pressure on them in any way. As my parents began to imagine themselves living in the apartment, they started talking about which furniture would go where and what might not fit. We spent an hour or two in the apartment, talking, measuring, brainstorming. Ms. Lewis waited patiently nearby. I was concerned that we were keeping her from something important and apologized for monopolizing her time. The director's reply was that deciding to move to assisted living takes time, and that my parents could take all the time they needed. It was fine. By the time we left Novellus several hours later, we knew how much it would cost for my parents to live there and what would be provided for them. Both of my parents felt very good about the visit. During our visit, Novellus Kingwood was clean, bright, and well-maintained. The space felt like a home, and the people inside the building seemed to really care about one another, staff and residents. Everyone was very friendly and courteous. The residents seemed happy and engaged. The staff seemed attentive and respectful. Friday evening, when I asked my parents how they felt when they were at Novellus, talking with Ms. Lewis, my mom said, "Like I wanted to live there." My dad who is struggling with the changes that have occurred over the last few years, said at Novellus, he felt valued and heard, that he thinks Ms. Lewis is the kind of person that he tries to be himself... kind, patient, honest, compassionate, caring. Novellus is different from other AL communities. The small, family-like environment feels like a community or extended family rather than a corporate senior housing business. An added bonus, Novellus is located just off of Kingwood Drive, surrounded by mature trees in the Liveable Forest. The transition to assisted living isn't an easy one, but this community seems determined to make it a positive one. I'm glad we found it.

DO NOT use this facility. Quote cheap and raise prices as you discuss needs. Would not accept our father the day before he arrived over 4th of July weekend. Did not perform physical assessment and canceled after we had set up his room. This was after we had written checks for $6300 and then got the runaround for 2 months before we received our money back.

I am a nurse with BROOKDALE HOSPICE... This place is awesome. The residents are always clean, never complaining they are hungry and the staff make their care personal to each individual resident. I love communicating with staff. They are cheerful and friendly.

Highly recommended!!! When it came time for the difficult decision of my father to move to a retirement community, we visited many before settling on Atria Kingwood, and that turned out to be an excellent choice. He feels completely at home, and marvels at the quality and care of the staff, food, and environment. Atria Kingwood is also just the right size, small enough to feel like a community without being tiny, big enough to offer a full range of amenities without getting lost in the crowd. It also has nice outdoor areas for walks. Again, most highly recommended!

Atria Kingwood is absolutely wonderful. The staff welcomed my mom and put her at ease during a dramatic life change. The uncertainty for my family quickly diminished over the initial weeks following move in through the authenticity, compassion and transparency shared by everyone involved at Atria. Mom is more active than she has been in years and loves participating with other residents in all the activities provided by Atria. Atria Kingwood is an absolute gem. I am extremely thankful for connecting with Atria and would highly recommend the facility to anyone facing the transition of a loved one into assisted living. Thank you Atria!!!

Definitely a great place for your love one's, Staff was very helpful, teamwork was awesome and management didn't mind stepping in picking up slack if needed! They really appreciated their staff on all levels and The Residents well-being and safety matters first, awesome activity director at the time was really good, true place of peace! Very beautiful, Homey and Landscaping. Wish I could go back and work there, would go in a heartbeat. But unforeseen circumstances occurred with my car and for some strange reason, I'm not a Rehire!! But overall I would definitely recommend Atria Kingwood for your love ones??!
