If you are looking here, you will not get what you expect, I recommend you look elsewhere. They will promise and never deliver. Mom moved to McArthur Hills a few years ago because she needed help due to dementia. We knew going in that their pricing was very high compared to other places offering the same care, but opted go with them because the facility was close by and they made promises that unfortunately they did not fulfill. We continually had issues with the lack of cleaning. It took us 1.5 years for them to fix her AC/Heat unit to keep it from tripping every day. Similarly her ceiling was failing in the bathroom, it took a year for them to patch it and they never even finished the job. Trying to get anything done or a call returned from them is a joke. All the while continually raising the rates, to the tune of an additional $12,000 per year! Even now after moving mom out, we discovered they overcharged her by $4,677 and we can't get them to return a call despite multiple attempts. Care providers are constantly changing (if they tell you otherwise it is not true) and they are not well trained on how to work with patients with dementia that are not ready for Memory Care. We made the choice to move Mom and it has been a great decision the new place is older but the care givers are actually trained and Mom has been more interactive there in the last 6 weeks then MacArthur Hills was able to accomplish in over 2 years.

My mom was in memory care for 2 1/2 years here. You are paying for a lot of overhead that memory care is not using. The staff is rotated through, lots of new staff especially on weekends. Not enough staff to handle the residents. Residents left in front of the TV, not enough interaction. There were quite a few of the staff that were great and took great care of the residents but they couldn't be there all the time. We have moved to another facility and only wish we had done it sooner.

MacArthur Hills Senior Living assisted my dad in his last months of life. They provided excellent care, compassion and dedication to his needs and those of the family. Caring staff who kept us fully informed as to his condition, needs and offered their services wholeheartedly. The facility is clean, well maintained, and secure. Food was very good and their rotating dietary selection was excellent for my dads needs. Recommend you check out the facility if your in need of a place for you loved one. Cost were very completive with other facilities, but their service was worth any extra expense. Thank you MacArthur Hills for caring for my father.

For some reason they can’t let me/us know when they go on lockdown due to covid or when they lifted covid. Also you can’t get a hold of anybody or they will not return calls.

My husband and I have been living in an independent Villa duplex for five years now and have never regretted making this major lifestyle change. Being free of the expense and upkeep of homeownership is a real plus! The social interaction at the evening meals, monthly calendar of fun activities and entertainment have enhanced our daily lives. We have made many new friends and have found the staff to be caring and efficient. It truly feels like home!

My mom recently lost her husband. She is blind and has struggled with her loss but the staff cares about her and has provided much needed additional support. She has many friends here and wants to stay where she's comfortable and feels safe.

We have lived here for almost 2 years in the Independent Villas and moving here was one of the best decisions we have made. The staff is outstanding and will go out of their way to do their job professionally. The residents here have been so welcoming and have embraced my husband and I with such warmth and caring. We love it here and enjoy all the activities, the food, and especially the Friday Happy Hour.

Seven years ago after visiting several senior living communities, MacArthur Hills was selected as our top choice. My wife and I have never regretted the decision. The facilities, staff, and service are outstanding. This is our home!

Please please take heed to the recent reviews! Once management changed to Senior Lifestyle quality left this facility. It was problem after problem and frustration after frustration. The facility is beautiful, well maintained in the main areas and hallways. The front desk staff is great, as well as their leasing agent. That is why even 2 stars. The care is not good, staff has turned over, staff seems overworked and unhappy. The loving care to your family member is not there. The prices are very high and you do not get what you pay for. My mother was in assisted living. We had multiple issues with med administration, follow up, any communication unless we reached out, very dirty room (even though it’s cleaned weekly), etc. We reached out many times to get these issues addressed and taken care of. They remained issues and unresolved. Furthermore, with the Covid situation it could have been the time they shined and went above and beyond. It was quite contrary. My mother was kept in her room for 3 months, we had to even ask if someone could take her outside just for her mental health. I and the family did not find that they made a huge effort. You have to do the work for them and be your family members constant advocate on every level. Please choose a facility based on staff. We moved my mom and it has made ALL the difference. A beautiful facility does not mean quality care. Management need to be revamped!

The whole Staff at MacArthur Hills has made my 95 year old grandmother's transition from Indiana down to Texas as seamless as possible. Every level of employee has been terrific and top shelf. I feel like the MacArthur Hill's staff are part of our family now. I looked at several facilities in the DFW area and I know that I have made the right decision. From the Director of the facility to care staff, they have been nothing but helpful and wonderful. As you can imagine, a transition of a 95 yr old could have "gone south" pretty easily ....MacArthur Hills has done an excellent and professional job at making the move work out the best possible. We look forward to being a part of MacArthur Hills for years to come.

My mom and dad have lived at MacArthur Hills for several years. Over that time, I've been thrilled with the loving and caring approach the management and staff use with all of the residents. They are responsive and proactive at every turn. I couldn't be more happy. When I walk in the front door, I feel like family, and that means the world to me.

My sister and I looked all over the metroplex for a place for my Mother to move to. The one thing I heard over and over again by people was that I would probably move her again at some point. We moved her in December of 2016 and I would not take her anywhere else. She has dementia, and we wanted her to be in a loving place that felt like home. The staff at MacArthur Hills has not let us down. When we moved her here, she was on the second floor at the Esparanza House Memory Care. The one thing I loved about the floor she lived on was it was very open and full of sunlight, a very warm feeling. They opened the third floor Memory Care - "The Terrace" where she is today. These residents are more mobile. The caregivers treat all the residents like their own family and they are now part of mine too. They have activities, singers, dancers, piano players, exercise classes, etc for the residents to participate in daily. I highly recommend MacArthur Hills for your loved one. Janet Snyder

I brought my parents to MacArthur Hills about 8 months ago. The transition for them was not an easy one due to the trauma of leaving their home of 40+ years. The transition was much eased as the staff from (top to bottom) genuinely care about my parents and do what they can to help my folks sort through their many health issues/concerns. At the end of the day, my parents are safe and as happy as is possible.

When it was time to move my Mother to Assisted Living about a year ago, the staff at MacArthur Hills could not have been a bigger blessing! They worked with us and helped with everything. Since living in the beautiful facility, she has made some good friends because the other residents are a wonderful, quality group of people. It has a "big, happy family" feel. She enjoys the meals, activities, parties and coffee groups quite a bit. She adores the staff and thier way of interacting with the residents. Aging is not easy on the individual or the family, but MacArthur Hills is providing her with a happy life and relieving my stress as they take good care of my Mom! Irving's finest for sure!

My mother has been at MacArthur Hills since 2014. She found it herself when it was being built, and she lived in the Independent Villas for almost two years. When it was time to move to Assisted Living, the Director (Mr. Luna) and his staff assisted in an easy transition. The staff and all workers know Mom's name and call out to her when we are in the hall. There are lovely, caring nurses and caretakers here. Any time we have questions or concerns, they are addressed immediately. Menus are given out to residents monthly (and as weekly reminders), and the many activities are passed out to each resident daily and posted in the elevators. It is a lively and vibrant place with music, popcorn, and parties for special occasions. My mother's favorite meal is breakfast in the dining room. There are good, nutritious meals served throughout the day. Residents can participate in a daily fitness class, join an outing or two to grocery stores and other destinations per week, enjoy singers and performers, and play games like Bingo. We have had a very good experience here, and I have gotten to know many of the other residents when visiting. My mother is happy, and we can highly recommend MacArthur Hills.

Both of my parents resided at MAH. My father was moved to Memory Care and recently passed away. I can't express the loving care my father received in Memory Care. My mom is still on the AL side, and we may have to move her to Memory Care soon. I can honestly say that I do not have any hesitations for moving my mom to MC. They have plenty of activities for both the AL & MC residents. It hasn't always been a 5 STAR due to some issues with the meals, but that is no longer an issue. My mom always says that she gets too much to eat.

MacArthur Hills has been a truly wonderful place for my mother! The staff are incredibly nice and caring. There are so many daily activities for the residents and even a personal driver if she wants to go somewhere. She loves the pool, hair salon and outdoor areas. I would highly recommend it!
