The valet here is spotty. Sometimes you’ll get great valet members who are extremely personable/helpful like majority of the staff. Then unfortunately, you’d receive workers like Liv. Young girl, no manners. She struck my mother in the head and promptly moved on to her next tasks. She is too young to be working with us. She didn’t complete her job efficiently. It’s impossible that she could be employed at this company if she’s so passive. She needs time to reevaluate the diversity of this profession, or even the world itself.

Overpriced. Assistance for my husband is lacking and we are moving out after 5 months. A few very good caregivers but more inadequate. Sleeping on the job. Taking resident belongings from laundry. Left my husband in same clothes for one week while I was traveling. He has beginning Alzheimer’s.

Greetings to my friends at The Tradition my last home on this earth. I loved my apartment, the friendly and helpful staff, the wonderful facilities and the meals and activities. It truly made my last years a time of peace and joy. Many friendships were made and memories created. So, a big thanks to everyone there and a very Merry Christmas. Since I passed in May of 2024, I won't be there to celebrate with you, but I do get to celebrate with my Lord each and every day. Hope to see you all here when your time comes. Love, Gladys (GG)

Everything about the Tradition is amazing, and our parents love it there. We recently lost our mom and held her memorial service in the Grand Room at the Tradition, and it was an absolutely beautiful event. The staff, as always, were amazing. Ney Williams, did a fantastic job coordinating everything. She took our vision for the event and made it happen. Everything was perfect and all who attended were so complimentary. We feel so lucky to have a place for our dad where he can stay active with friends, both new and old, and is treated with respect and kindness. It truly is a special place.

My wife and I have lived here for 21/2 years and are extremely lucky and happy to be here. It is a beautifully run community. We have had problems, but they are promptly addressed. All apartments have lovely views and the sunrises and sunsets are SPECTACULAR! What more could one ask for when you have a gym with classes, library, theater and two dining areas with mostly delicious food, lectures, special programs, outings to the grocery and different restaurants every week and housekeeping services once a week. I can’t say enough good things about The Tradition on Woodway,

My wife and I have lived at The Tradition-Woodway for over three years. Tradition Woodway is one of those rare places where friends become family. The amenities are amazing, the staff is outstanding, the array of activities is almost unbelievable and most importantly we feel at home. We looked at retirement facilities in several states and both rental and buy-in and determined that Tradition provided not most, but everything we wanted.

We enjoy the fitness classes, lectures, fun events such as photography class, Bus trips to restaurants and events around town, and making new friends. I have to mention that the food is delicious as well, with a large menu that includes new specials every week. We are very happy here and know we made the right choice

The living facility is adequate for my needs with few exceptions 1. No light in the pantry 2. The dish washer will not heat dry. 3. The electric door lock charging is a pain, The service attendants are courteous, friendly and helpful. The dining room waiters could use more trading and supervision to eliminate frequent mistakes in serving The quality of the food is good and the quality of servings adequate. The food preparation is sometimes lacking and the kitchen could use more supervision . The menu offerings should be changed more frequently.. I like the emphasis of the Tradition in getting the residents together in friendly acitvity. I have made a lot o friends here.. Thank you for the opportunity to express my opinion.

Hi reader, Over 6 months ago I became convinced that I would need serious back surgery..a fusion of the bottom 3 vertebrae. It was clear that I couldn’t manage my recovery in my house bought new 23 years ago..even though my son, daughter-in-law, and 5 year old lived 20 minutes away in West University Place and could help out some. I had previously visited other upscale independent living facilities either in person or online, but most were old, shabby..lacking all of the support services I would need post surgery. Then I visited the 3-year-old, 24 story, elegant The Tradition Woodway, which my daughter-in-law described as pure Four Seasons. Each apartment has 12-foot ceilings, huge picture windows giving unobstructed views of the fashionable Tanglewood neighborhood. It had a full range of essential services: 2 dining rooms with room service, a concierge, physical and occupational therapy, heated indoor pool, a gym, a hair & nail salon, and ability to contract for 24x7 home care in my apartment..all the services needed for a proper surgical recovery. Luckily there were 3 open apartments, and I immediately contracted for one, sold my house full price, as-is, all cash, with a 4-week close. Then, after moving here and interviewing 3 spinal surgeons, I chose one at Houston Methodist in The Texas Medical Center. The 2-day surgery took place two weeks ago. To my great relief, I have found that The Tradition Woodway has delivered on all its promise for my surgical aftercare. Recovery is right on track, and I expect to get back in the game within a couple of months Phew!!! John Holzer, ExxonMobil retiree

My parents live at The Tradition and are quite happy there. Yesterday in the freeze however, the power went out in the morning. It was still out at nightfall, so we brought my parents to spend the night with us. Several residents were getting in Ubers to stay on hotels so they will not spend the night without power. This morning apparently the power is still out. The disappointing part is that there has been NO COMMUNICATION from the building management to residents. Management touts the Life Lock system as its method for communicating with residents but there has been radio silence about the power issue. There should be regular, periodic announcement about status and I am disgusted that my parents are left to texting with other residents (who happened to run into a staff member who updated them) for information.

Staff is very friendly and attention however there is are a few not so friendly and attentive attitude but I guess that's everywhere you go, overall it's a great place with all the help anyone could have. I've see other assistant living and nothing compar to this one.

My daughter and I went to a luncheon here. I am not sure that places like this are used to people under 55 attending these events. By that I mean, it really threw event staff through a loop on why we were there. We did however have an Amazing tour by Mrs. Nancy. She answered all of our questions. She even suggested questions we should ask of all facilities we would be looking at. Here are a few of them; 1. What is the generator capacity for the building? Will they supply the entire building or just kitchens and emergency systems? 2. Are residents able to get into an apartment of another size until the one they need is ready? Is there a waiting list? 3. What measures have been taken to ensure safety during a hurricane and flooding? I loved that there was no pressure to commit to anything and that information was freely given about how in house communication worked. Residents also let us view their apartments and answered questions. Would have given 5 stars but I think there is room for improvement. The awkwardness of being the only people under 50 ( that didn't work there) could have been alleviated.

My 75 year old sweet mama moved into independent living at the Tradition in July, 2020. Her apartment is absolutely stunning and everyone who works at the property goes above and beyond the call of duty. I am so happy that my mom is able to enjoy her retirement years in a place that offers amazing amenities and exceptional service. Thank you to the staff for all you do to make the Tradition her home.

What a beautiful building! This community is just opening and looks fantastic. The staff I've met have been so friendly and warm. The Tradition has a great reputation of excellent and compassionate care. It seems that this new community will more than live up to that!
