My sister and I toured valley view for my father who is 80. The facility is very clean. The residents are very happy there. Crystal, she was fantastic. She went above and beyond what we expected. My dad wasn't sure if he wanted to go on a tour by himself or not. Crystal talked to him and he went in and she answered all his questions. My father's not even a resident there and she Said that she's going to go and check on my father on Thursday to see how he is and see what he thinks about the facility and she just wants to make sure that he's okay in a safe place. My mother passed away almost a year ago and he is in Harlingen by himself because I live in Georgia and my sister lives in New York. When I was talking to the residents they were extremely happy and they were asking when my father is going to come and live there and what his hobbies were and it just seems like a very positive environment. When you walk in you can feel the environment is welcoming and it doesn't feel like a hospital. My father's not even there yet and I highly recommend this, especially talking to Crystal

Elevator issues continues through June. Residents have been assisting other residents operating elevator for lack of staffing every day. Having to walk up the stairs to the third floor to bring down elevator is an accident falling waiting to happen.

My friend and I visited Valleyview independent living last week We were greeted by Kristen and treated to a nice lunch good food and learned a lot about Valley View. We were then taken on a tour and shown the apartments available. The apartments have been redone and are very attractive. Valley View offers a lot for seniors like ourselves. I visited the facility April 16, 2026. I was absolutely amazed at how beautiful the facility was and how wonderful the staff was. I think any senior adult would be incredibly excited and happy to live there.

My 100 year old father has been a resident in Valley View for almost a month. The staff is so kind and caring. He is loving everyday. On March 24 the staff hosted a wonderful birthday party for him. Our family appreciates the kindness. We especially thank Amanda for all her efforts.

I am amazed at this facility, I lived in Houston for 54 yrs, but only in a Senior Facility fir 2 of those years ans I have to say that this place is so great to say I’m living here that my move here couldn’t have panned out better. The staff is amazing & I can’t say enough of them because they’re ready to accommodate. I’ve only been here little over a week & I’ve made friends already. After attending a meeting with Rebecca who is awesome and letting us know about the upcoming renovations, I’m glad to join the Valley View Family.

From the front receptionist that is very friendly And helpful she does her job with a good heart. Everuone at the wellness Department knows what’s going on with everybody in this facility which makes it a lot easier to communicate with them and their families. Your activity director makes a lot of fun times with the people that live here in the facility and also with a friends and family that can be included is outrageous. The admission clerks gives you a good tour to the family and the client as well. She’s very informative of everything that goes on in this facility.. I would recommend this place 100 times considering any other place. This is cause I visit a lot of facilities..

VV assisted living and staff looked very impressive when we went to tour with my father. The ladies at the front were so nice and attentive, explaining everything very thoroughly, making my wheelchair bound father feel very special. He moved in on July 31. On August 7, he fell and broke his femur. He pushed the button on the necklace they gave him if assistance was needed but yet he waited almost 30 minutes before anyone checked on him. His initial fall did not hurt him but since he had to wait so long for assistance, he got impatient and tried to get himself up resulting in the fall that broke his femur. We had to move him out after 1 week, not because we or he wanted, but because now he had to go to the hospital where it was determined he needed to have surgery to try fix his femur and a rehab stint of undetermined time. I met with the ladies up front to see why no one responded to my father in a better time frame and no one really had an answer. Now my father is going to have a hospital bill, surgery bill, doctor bill, radiology bill, anesthesiologist bill and a long recovery period because of their negligence. I also asked if they could prorate his bill since he was only there 1 week and the move out was not because we wanted him out but because of their negligence and I was told they would definitely be able to do something, but we got my dad's bank statement and they took the full amount out! What? The full amount for a 1 week stay?? We are waiting for the bills to come in from the hospital so that I can see if the facility will help us out in some way. And as far as making my dad feel special when we first signed up, well that went out the window... not a single staff member has called to check on my dad to date. I guess the potential residents are only made to feel special when they are touring, after that they just become another number. The only positive thing I can say is that VV assisted living is a beautiful building. Oh, and my dad is still in a rehab facility trying to regain his strength.

Been living here 1.5 years and while there has been a reduction in resources to be available to the residents....even worse is the lack of repair and replacement of the washer /dryers in facility. All the machines on both 2nd and 3rd floor need replacement. How do they expect residents to get their laundry done. This is a "feature" of the apartment living. Frustrated and waiting for maintenance!!

The facility is very nice. We were impressed with the cleanliness and no smell often associated with such places. The staff is outstanding. My father-in-law made the decision to move in and they got him an apartment and moved in within a week. Such a quick reply transition for all of us. The nurses were just as wonderful with their check ins on him. Our minds were at ease with him there. We always were able to talk in the phone with the staff and they called us with updates almost daily due to his frail health. We highly recommend Valley View for loved ones.

I’ve had my ups & downs with Valley View but, the staff listens to my concerns & immediately takes care of things. My mom is very content & happy here. The staff is excellent with her. I love the way they make her feel special & loved. It took my mom a little while to get used to her new home but, we (me & my siblings) know we made the right decision for my mom’s care! Thank you staff & caregivers for being so attentive to my mom’s needs.

Moving in was a good experience! Helpful staff to assist. Transition from home living was gradual but accepted by parents. Mother continues to receive excellent care in skilled nursing memory care unit. Great and friendly staff well mannered and kind to Mother and myself. Patients become a priority for sure.

I have been very impressed with Valley View Independent Living. The staff is welcoming, helpful, and genuinely caring with the residents. They have a beautiful dining room---high ceilings, bright windows, and creative, tasty meals. Lovely decor, well manicured grounds, but most important: a wonderful group of people working there. We are lucky to have Valley View here in Harlingen as an option for independent seniors.
