Reviews Sodalis Flower Mound
July 2026
Darla is absolutely wonderful and amazing and advocates for all of her staff and residents. The entire staff has been excellent to work with. As a home care provider it makes my job much easier and more enjoyable to have a staff like this!
June 2026
Sodalis / Flower Mound was the first assisted living facility my husband and I toured when searching for a home for his stepmother. We were immediately impressed with the cozy, homey atmosphere, the cleanliness, and various staff we interacted with. Every other facility we toured did not come close to comparing with Sodalis, and we moved my mother-in-law in three weeks ago. I have had a lot of exposure to these types of facilities: my stepfather lived in several over the years. In my mind, the key piece of the puzzle in this kind of environment is the Executive Director. Ms Darla at Sodalis is just the sort of person and professional one wants when making such a major life decision. She is warm, responsive, fun, and most importantly, she is "hands-on." She's not sitting in an office doing paperwork. It is clear she cares about her residents as people. When you have good management at the top, the team beneath is stronger, happier, more efficient, and more effective. And such is the case at Sodalis. Yes, the rooms are nice. Yes, the food is tasty. Yes, the activities are varied and fun. And yes, the pricing is very reasonable. All of that is important. However, if the top management is lacking, all of those selling points, in my opinion, become moot. Ms Darla's heart and soul are invested daily, and it shows. We are happy that my mother-in-law is happy; it is such a relief. But most of all, we are thankful and grateful for Ms Darla, Tim, Tabitha, and the rest of the staff, for their dedication and attention---and we rest easy knowing our family member is in excellent hands while under their care.

My mother is so happy living at Sodalis. The staff is simply amazing. My mother feels very comfortable and cared for here. The chef prepares delicious food daily; I’ve really enjoyed the meals I’ve shared with my mother. The staff goes above and beyond with their compassion and kindness. I highly recommend Sodalis to anyone looking for a place for their loved ones.
January 2026
Update January 2026: Sodalis has installed a new Executive Director and after a month, changes have been overwhelmingly positive. Staff has now changed over nearly 100%, but the new employees are courteous, caring and attentive. They actually come check on me regularly and respond to call button requests. Chef is excellent as well. The new management team is clearly putting in lots of effort and it shows. I have been a resident here for 3 months. This is my first experience with assisted living. Understand that these places start with a basic rent (room, food, utilities, housekeeping, laundry). Beyond that, there are a number of levels of care, each one adding an additional monthly cost in tiers. I was specifically told that without tiers of service, they would still assist me with small tasks. In fact, I was even given a push/call button that I can wear around my neck. Since being there, I have required various minor assistance with things (cpap machine comes unplugged, minor cut/ help with bandaid, broken chair- all things that would take not more than 5 minutes). With the exception of some wonderful employees, often the staff doesn’t respond to the call button at all, or when they do, they are rude or angry that I have bothered them. Even the director was now saying that you aren’t supposed to get any assistance since you aren’t paying for a tier of service. So my family then moved me onto the first tier of service which included them managing my meds, and was supposed to guarantee assistance as mentioned above. The very first day (hours after we went over the meds schedule), all of my meds were withheld (employee said that no instructions had been left so no meds for you). The following day they tried to give me someone else’s meds. I also noticed that the staff still doesn’t come when I press the button- even when I had cut my leg and was bleeding. The director says that they are under staffed and they are too busy with other residents to help you. We have since removed me from the level one tier of service. Speaking of staff- I want to emphasize that there are some truly wonderful people here, but also some that are rude and uncaring. Also, there is tremendous turnover. Within 2 months, they have lost the activities person, head medical person, head cook, maintenance person and more. Perhaps this is indicative of this industry? Residents here are fantastic. Their friendship and the caring employees make the difference. I just wish management hadn’t promised more than they planned to deliver. Lower expectations would have made this transition easier. For those looking to put your parents into assisted living for the first time, I hope this review will give you questions to ask. Assisted at least with respect to Sodalis is more of a marketing promise and certainly not a practice- even when on a paid tier of service. Proceed with caution and ask lots of questions.

I placed my mom here for Respite care for several weeks. The first thing I noticed was the Home Like environment and the welcoming and helpful staff. The entire place is clean and always smells like good home cooking. The food was so good that I joined mom in a meal or two and really enjoyed it!!! Thank you, Sodalis of Flower Mound, for taking great care of mom and for giving her your attention and love during the time I couldn’t be.

Had the opportunity to tour this community since the recent rebranding and was pleasantly surprised. The new executive director April Battle gave me a tour and I was very much so impressed. The new ownership has clearly made a large investment in the aesthetic of the community and the talent of leadership in which they have recruited. All of the staff that I had the privilege of interacting with were smiling faces, introduced themselves and genuinely seemed eager to serve and happy in their jobs! All of the folks that lived there seemed to be well cared for, well groomed, engaged and happy. I can't wait to see the remodel completed with all of the new furniture and to taste the food from the new chef as well.

The staff at FMAL is very competent, and very warm and friendly. I love that this facility is smaller and doesn't have much turnover in staff. I had a great experience while my mother-in-law lived there for over a year and would recommend them for your loved ones.

Its been a trying couple years helping my parents as they decline with age. Since the new administrator Stephanie has arrived I'm seeing improvements in all the services. The staff seems more involved and happy with the way things are going. I feel as those everybody has my parents and my back even more since she's arrived. Each time I've had a concern Stephanie stops what ever she's doing and hears anything I have to say and addresses it promptly.
December 2019
The staff is so friendly as soon as you walk into the door you feel at home. Stephanie is the Administrator and you’ll know who she is because she’s always got a huge smile on her face and she’s very welcoming. The Residents are extremely friendly and sweet and will also greet you with a smile on their face. This place really is amazing all the way around. I would suggest it to anyone looking for somewhere to put their loved ones.
December 2019
My dad finally found a true home at Flower Mound Assisted Living. Given its relatively small size, it feels like a true community (a small-town environment if you will) as opposed to a "facility." This also means that residents and families are able to truly get to know the staff. (You don't have 30 care givers trying to relay messages between shifts.) So the continuity of care is wonderful. They've recently made some significant improvements as well. I love this place, and so does my dad.
December 2019
My mother lives here and is very well taken care of and she’s happy. Staff is very caring and the residents have a lot of activities.
December 2019
Mom was at FMAL for 7 years. Was it perfect? No. But your family isn’t perfect either, and that’s what this place was; family. Every staff member from the manager to the cleaning lady knew and cared for mom personally. They also knew and accepted me as part of the team. Mom had friends. She had interests. She had the care she needed at different stages of her journey. She had a good life.
April 2018
My Father-in-law, Jack, passed recently but was a resident at FMAL and the place is very clean and if we could give the staff 10 stars we would. Priscilla, Nicco, Mark, Janie, Nita, Sandy, Saada and Miriam and the whole staff treated him excellent and believe me he was a handful. We can not thank them enough for the care, compassion and going above and beyond. The communication was unreal and they treated us like family.
August 2017
Mom has been at Flower Mound Assisted Living for three years. She loves the staff, activities and food. The staff goes above and beyond to assist her. They make her feel very special.
