I took a tour at Deer Creek Assisted Living today in Desoto, TX. The facility was very nice, I met with the Director Landon and he was so fun and helpful. Dad is not quite ready to move but when he is ready, Deer Creek will be his new home.

A family member is a resident. Very nice caring staff. They care for a lot of residents the best they can with the demands on them. Food is not up to standards for taste or quality. Most meals are not nutritious. No awards there. Great place to have valuables stolen from loved ones. Residents are doped early at night. Night staff were thieves. One even stole her shower chair. An office person stole her laptop on her last night on the job. Number one place for criminal abuse of the aged when it comes to thefts. All residents told me about staff stealing cash from them also. Latest new hires more caring and less complaints while assisting.

The staff here is very caring, but there is a lot of turn over. Unfortunately, they are unresponsive to my mother if she uses the pull cords in her room to request help. The food service is sorely lacking. The food is inadequate, and they don't pay attention to her likes, dislikes, and nutritional needs. I once spoke to management about this and food service greatly improved, but only temporarily. They also did not keep on top of her medications. For example, after she left the hospital I went to the pharmacy and took her new meds to Deer Creek and also gave them her discharge orders. Almost a week later she was still not being given her new meds because the "person who checks those in has been out". My loved one has since been moved to another assisted living community.

My husband has lived at Brookdale DeSoto, for the past 3 years. If it had not been for the staff at Brookdale, I could not do the things that I am doing. I just moved from our large home into a guest house of a friend. It has taken the last month to accomplish this large task.. If I did have the confidence of your staff I could not have completed this task. It is also important for you to know how much my husbands general health has improved under the leadership of Joe Steliga. He has taken a personal interest in Ken. Both Ken and I count him as a friend and excellent administrator. Thank you for letting me take this time to thank our Brookdale family for all they have done to make the quality of our life better. Thank you, Connie Mathieson

My journey at Brookdale began 8 years ago. Hopefully it will continue as the wonderful, caring, loving staff makes this my home that I am very proud of. My dog, Duke, loves the courtyard, where we sit outside and visit with our friends. God bless Brookdale and the many gracious people in Desoto and else where. Thank you, Lois and Duke

My parents are doing well at this community. So far everything is going well since their move. The cleanliness of the community is very good. Everything is very nice and clean. The staff is very friendly, and they have been very helpful and polite. They have nice activities available for the residents, and that is good for my parents. The meals are decent. Overall it has been a good experience so far, and I would recommend this community.

We habe been pleased with the overall experience to this point. The surroundings are warm and more like being at home. The previous facility that Mom was in was more institutional and sterile in its stricture and environment. Brookdale Desoto is a much nicer environment and Mom enjoys all of the scheduled activities.
