Thank you for the wonderful care!
July 2024
Auberge at Onion Creek sets the bar high for assisted living and memory care in Austin. From the moment you walk in, your're greeted by the concierge and managers with a warmth of professionalism that makes you feel at home. Residents are well groomed and can be seen actively engaging with staff in both one-on-one and group activities. Even living with dementia, one of the residents offered to guide me on a tour. The community's wellness team and care staff seem to stay busy with residents, but are always smiling and take time to answer questions to ensure every person at Auberge feels like they're an important part of the community. And I would be remiss not to mention the delectable aroma around meal times, classy decor, and overall beauty of the community inside out! As a healthcare professional and patient advocate, I've seen many assisted living communities across the country. So I know the "good, bad, and the ugly" when it comes to healthcare and senior living. This is why I can highly recommend Auberge at Onion Creek to anyone looking for assisted living and memory care in Austin. Keep up the amazing work Auberge at Onion Creek!

For the past ten months Auberge at Onion Creek has been a wonderful home for my dad. The decision and process of moving him from his house out of state to a memory care facility was so emotionally difficult but the staff were incredibly helpful and it has turned out to have been a very good move for him. He is very happy at Auberge and well cared for. The facility and grounds are great. His room is light and he loves it. They really want residents to use public spaces and to engage with other residents and staff rather than becoming isolated in their rooms. There are lots of activities to engage the residents and a number of shared living room like spaces with TVs and books. Dad likes the birds in the birdcage and the fish tanks. The building surrounds a really spacious and beautifully landscaped courtyard that my family and I enjoy with my dad. There are several shaded porches, paved and gravel paths, and a gazebo that he likes to sit in. The courtyard has a lot of bird feeders and birds, flowers and trees. But probably what makes Auberge such a great place is the quality of the staff. They treat the residents with real care and warmth. Their dedication to their work through the pandemic has been remarkable. The staff has been great to us too, with advice and recommendations and compassion for our situation. My family and I are so happy that we found Auberge for dad.

The Auberge is a warm, loving community that sees itself as one big family. One of the most impressive things is that they are able to help families quickly - if a senior requires an emergency admission, Teri and her team will do everything they can to prioritize that case and get that person settled safely into their care. There is a beautiful internal courtyard which is ideal for those who want to walk, garden, or enjoy the sunshine. The activities program ensures that residents stay engaged and socialized. I am a huge fan of their approach to care and I love working with their team!
November 2020

My wife was at Silverado, predecessor of Auberge, for several years. I knew from the beginning that this was the place for her and I never changed my mind. The facility itself, the administration, the nurses the caregivers and other staff are great and love what they do. All of those people are still at what is now Auberge so I have to give it high marks although there have been a few changes. Look around at what is available and compare. I think you will give it very high marks as well.

Moved my 85 year old Mom from Florida to Texas on the last day of June. Staff at The Auberge recommended a service that provided a nurse to travel on the plane with Mom. Mom got to Austin at 9:00 PM but Teri Davidson was waiting for us that evening when we arrived at The Auberge to get Mom checked in. Worked with Mohammed Al-Saad, the Health Services Director, to make sure Mom received all her daily medications beginning the next day. Mohammed also assisted in getting Mom signed up on a Texas Medicare Plan that would cover her visits from the doctors that came to The Auberge during the COVID lock down. Noor Zibdeh, Memory Care Director, explained the window visit system that allows us to visit Mom and talk to her without any physical contact. The Auberge is a wonderful environment for Mom during these difficult times and the staff has been exceptional in getting her settled in and acclimated to her new surroundings. I have the cell phone numbers for all the staff members that I need to deal with and they have been wonderful. It has only been two months, but Mom is doing great at The Auberge and I would recommend them to anyone in need of their services.

I have been teaching art classes at The Auberge at Onion Creek for years! The people that work there are some of the kindest people Ive met! All of the retirees are well taken care of and are such a delight to be around. The facility is clean as a whistle and well decorated (they always have fresh flowers which I think is such a nice touch)! They offer lots of different activities and make sure all of the retirees interests are taken in to account. 10 out of 10 would recommend!

Every member of the staff is dedicated to providing a safe, efficient, and most of all, a loving environment, for the residents of the Auberge. I am totally confident that my wife who has severe dementia is well cared for at all times. It gives me peace of mind to know she is safe and treated with love.

April 2020
My mother has been at The Auberge at Onion Creek for just over 1 year. I have deep trust in the care she receives daily- that it will be kindly, competent, personal, and pretty comprehensive. The personal assessment she received from the Director was incredibly sensitive and skillful and left a very positive impression upon us. There is a real sense of generosity throughout the community- everyone going beyond themselves and their roles to make life easier, more pleasant and more meaningful for each person. I see how that extends itself to residents, who are beautifully respectful and kindly and compassionate with one another. My brother, a retired life-long social worker, remarked on the friendliness and camaraderie among the staff, which he believes is the most important indicator of the daily social wellness of residents. I observe this every week and agree that it really does rub off on the residents each day. I appreciate how open staff have been to family members who offer ideas or activities that can enhance the mission of providing meaning and purpose to individuals. My prayer for my mother was that she would meet a real friend on her own terms and thank God that happened for her early on. Im not sure it would have happened without the unique community features of The Auberge. This friendship is recognized by all the staff, valued and supported and it makes all the difference in this stage of my mothers life. It is a pleasure for me to spend time with my mom and her friends- they have become my friends as well. The lovely and comfortable dining room and the generosity of The Auberge in offering meals to family members at no extra cost is a real bonus. The medical staff are attentive, responsive, and sensitive. The caregiving staff really includes everyone but I must give a shout out to the daily caregivers who attend to residents with great cheer and sensitivity to the individual character and needs. The Auberge is truly a warmly relational community, which is exactly what we were seeking...the extensive grounds, the activities, the celebrations, the animals, the children, the food, are like a thickly spread icing on the cake! To choose a home and community for your loved ones final chapter of life is an awesome responsibility- my family members all agree that we found the right place. January 2020***Footnote: Management has changed from Silverado to Auberge and while day-to-day caregiving staff continue their amazing care, I do note the following changes: the Spark (Montessori like) program does not appear evident- I believe due to the staffing ratio it would require. I felt a lack of transparency throughout the management change (we were assured repeatedly there would be NO CHANGES)and am saddened that the Silverado values are not shared by top administrators of the off site Auberge Management company. Meals are no longer offered to family members at no cost; other cost saving measures have diminished the promise of Silverado. For new residents and families this may have no significant bearing- for my family which bought into the Silverado contract, it has been an adjustment and disappointment. Still, I would not move my mother because of the consistent loving care from Caregivers, housekeepers, cooking staff, on site admin staff, engagement staff, maintenance staff, etc.
March 2020
I love the staff! Thank you for caring and loving my sweet Mama. While I hate it that I cannot see her during this difficult time, I know that she is receiving the best care from committed and loving staff. We are grateful.
February 2020
Forget about the warm wash cloths delivered to the linen covered tables with a linen napkin set in the real glass stemware. Or, real glass dishes and fresh flowers centerpieces before a delicious three course dinner. Forget about the raised vegetable gardens where residents plant, harvest and cook what they grow; the adult tricycles; carpentry bench; golf green; pingpong and pool tables; basketball net and man cave. Forget about the dogs quietly walking around looking for friendly petting, the parakeets chirping, the beautiful striped fish swimming in various tanks around the facility. Forget the activities both inside and outside: movies and theatres, restaurants and race tracks, barbeques, and live music. Strip everything from the physical building and the programs that encourage engagement and mental stimulation. What you will be left with is a staff who works under the philosophy of respect, caring, and improved quality of life for each and every resident. Auberge Onion Creek is the only place I would want to reside when my time comes to need assistance. I feel blessed that we found this place for my husband.
August 2019
Very happy to see Mom is doing great here! I had no idea in less than 3 months that I could get my happy Mom back! It is a true community effort from everyone who works there! All staff enjoys working there and are dedicated to taking care of residents. Not only is Mom doing well and taken care of, but Gigi, her Maltipoo loves it as well. From what I can tell, the change in management this month is working well.
