One of the best facilities for memory care. My mother has an anxious and distrusting form of dementia and began staying here in Sep 2023. The staff was able to calm her down, level out her meds and she has somewhat returned to her normal self. She is so much safer and content here. The staff are extremely friendly and super helpful. Thank you PRMC!!!

I walked into Pecan Ridge Memory Care today to hear volunteer moms and their toddler's singing and interacting with the residents. This is not the first time at Pecan Ridge that I had the opportunity to see the engagement of the residents with the staff and guests. It was so special. It really touched my heart! If my mom needed memory care I would chose Pecan Ridge Memory Care.

My father has been at Pecan Ridge now for about 10 months. He's happy there and seems to be well attended. The facility suffers from the same issues most of these facilities encounter - too few resources / staff. But the staff seem to be mostly caring and careful. Given the difficulty of their overall mission, I think they're executing it as well as one could expect. My opinion, anyway. Would my father receive more attention and better care back at my house? Of course. But the reality is that as his dementia increased, the amount of attention needed became almost 24x7 care. We were exhausted, burned out. So we consider Pecan Ridge Memory Care to be a blessing, but at the same time, acknowledge that each of us has our own definition of that.

My 92 year old Mother was installed into this facility. Wow! What an amazing experience transitioning her there from Hawaii today. All staff and patients welcomed her with Hawaiian leis. She was fed and pampered by all staff and other patients too. This was not easy for us. They helped us also in this first day of transition.Much thanks, to Matt, Kacye, Shandra, Jasmine and a host of other staff members. This is a delicate time in all of our lives. We left there fully confident that their excellent and loving care will continue and our hearts are full. My Mother and our family is blessed to have found this amazing community for her.

My wife has been at Pecan Ridge since early 2017. We have seen several ownership-management changes, including another last October.Matt Stanley, CEO of Sundance Memory Care Communities, was picked for onsite management at that time. While this can be a difficult time for both resident and family;Matt, using his experience and Montessori principles, has made a smooth transition with many changes for the better. There is an atmosphere of professionalism, order and accountability. The functions of basis care, safety, nutrition and social activities have all improved. Residents are groomed and dressed appropriately with care

My mother has been a resident of the Pecan Ridge Memory Care Center for one year. Each time I visit her there ( twice weekly), I am thrilled at the constant care and attention the staff gives to her. She is truly treated as a valued, respected individual. The warmth the care givers give to each and every resident is very touching. The residents are challenged with games, art activities and many other activities. The staff has created an environment that feels safe and like home. I recommend it highly to any family.

Recently Ive been afforded the pleasure of touring the Pecan Ridge facility for my first time since Matt Stanley took over onsite management as CEO in December; needless to say I am beyond impressed. After meeting and speaking with him it was easy to come to understand his vision for his memory care facility. His Montessori inspired approach to the entire facility is like none Ive ever seen and when coupled with his interpersonal manner in managing both his staff and patients (who are known as none less than family) the improvement goes without saying. From restaurant quality food, careful attention to individual needs, and countless activities Pecan Ridge has become an immaculate example of everything Id require and more of a facility of its nature. I will recommend this facility time and time again.

A few short weeks before her birthday, we decided it was time for a memory care community for my mother-in-law. I work at an assisted living community I felt like I knew what to look for, something more than beautiful brick and mortar, even though this facility is VERY lovely and updated. A facility that would care for her in a loving and respectful manner, would comfort her and be respectful of her physical needs.Pecan Ridge Memory Care is that place. The staff were willing to answer questions at anytime (even if I had already asked them in every way possible.) Melissa especially encouraged us to take the time and feel comfortable with this decision. Tuesday was our sweet mothers 102nd Birthday. Pecan Ridge made it very special for her. Thank you to all the team! We are so proud to call this community her home!

As a previous Rehabilitation Counselor I had an opportunity to serve many in the brain injury-cognitive care community and have always been interested in different methodologies, their application and measurable outcomes. recently had the opportunity to visit with Matt Stanley, Holly Burk and several of the Pecan Ridge staff to discuss their approach using the Montessori method, application thereof and their outcomes. In hearing their practices it is clear they are placing emphasis on their residents independence, freedom within their abilities, and respect that individuals STORY.The idea of learning a residents background, ranging from their likes, dislikes, youthful experiences, celebrating their abilities, and creating a plan of care around this doesnt sound ground breaking, but it is, as many memory care facilities create these plans with very little input from the resident. Yet, they continue to wonder why the patient is difficult.Matt and Holly are able to share story after countless story about their residents successes and increased quality of life through implantation of the Montessori method. Not only that, when they speak of these successes, they are not speaking from the view point that they themselves achieved this success, but instead they are speaking in a manner that celebrates the individual residents success. The most beautiful part of witnessing them share patient success stories is that you can tell it is from the heart, with passion and focus on creating the most optimal environment for others-their loved ones.

My husband of 45 years moved into Autumn Leaves NW Austin last fall. This facility and its staff were much more than my family and I expected. I remember when we moved him in they said that this was not only Mikes home, but ours too. How true this statement turned out to be.The facility itself is beautiful. More like a 4 star hotel than a residence. There is plenty of room for not only residents, but also family. There are 3 enclosed courtyards - 2 of them with gardens. Everything is bright and uplifting. All the managerial offices are adjacent to the expansive living room (with a grand piano!), and they have an open door policy with the residents. They are always welcome to wander in when the managers doors are open. There is plenty of space in the hallways outside the residents rooms for family members to sit and converse in privacy, or just to linger. There are daily activities (toddler visits, memory games, crafts) and lots of music. Birthdays and holidays are celebrated. There is joy here.Anyone who works there (not just the nursing staff) knows all the residents by name and interacts with them regularly. Family members are given keys so we can come and go as we please. We were always welcome any time of the day or night. The entire staff interacted with Mike in an upbeat, positive way. They treat each resident as an individual and know eachs past profession and likes and dislikes. I honestly was in continual awe of how positive and attentive the staff was both to Mike and to all of his family members. Questions and requests were responded to quickly. They all became family to us. The food is excellently seasoned and more delicious than at many restaurants...all made from scratch, even the applesauce! The nursing staff... I cannot say enough about their professionalism and their positivity. As Mikes disease progressed, he needed more of their time, and they were there with their upbeat jokes and genuine, professional care. They continually made him smile, right up until the end. These young people were there for me (a 68 year old!) as well as the whole family. They taught me not only about compassion and patience, but also about my internal grieving process and trusting myself.Late on Dec.31, 2016, New Years Eve, Mike had some complications and two of the aides that were ready to get off their shift willingly stayed through the night, missing their own New Years celebrations. I felt safer there with Mike than I ever would have if he had been at our home. Mikes sister is a nurse practitioner in another state and she stated that Autumn Leaves was the best facility she has ever seen. The last week of his life, Mike was surrounded by all his family. Staff came with drinks for us and were always checking to see what we needed. Toward the end we were there day and night, playing his favorite music, talking and reminiscing. Mike could not talk or move much, but he had smiles and facial expressions for us.Because of the care we all received at Autumn Leaves, Mike died peacefully and we were at peace also. Autumn Leaves took care of his physical and medical needs so his family could focus on our own connections with him. This allowed us to have a beautiful, spiritual experience together. I am very grateful for Autumn Leaves.

This place is amazing. The experience I went through was heartwarming. Learning that I had a love one living there and the way nursing and caregivers took care of her the way they did made me feel she was in a loving place. Within the month time has past(my cousin has past away) still my family comes and visit and talks with the staff that took care of her. Them just know that she was taken care of was a great burdens off of them. I am grateful and truly appreciate the love and care.
