My mom's been here 13 years. No facility is perfect and many staff have come and gone, but overall my mom has been cared for well. She's incapacitated now. She started in the memory care, which is all women. I perfered that. The last few years the business office has helped me so much. Maggie has been a calm in a confusing storm navigating my mom's medicaid, etc. It's emotional enough loosing the mom you knew, but trying to keep up with the crazy system takes so much patience and experience. Maggie has been there. Generally speaking I've had very few problems, but you need to be there as you can also.

My mom was here for almost 60 days in skilled nursing care. It did not smell like pee when you walked in. If so, it could have been a resident that was parked in the lobby. Staff always pulled dirty trash after diaper changes so it didn't leave room smelling. Most of the staff we found very caring and friendly. We got attached to several of the regular CNAs, and bathers. Food was ok, it's not the Ritz. I found some of it over spiced, like the seafood. Way too much Cajun season. Too much fried food for patients with heart conditions. A lot of patients didn't eat the food. Such a waste. I only had one incident that im aware of that I had to deal with of my mom sitting in poop for 2 hrs. I let the staff aware and how I felt of this CNA that didn't do her job. This angered me with this lazy CNA. My big issue is the care was not consistent among the staff. Each nurse does things differently, to me it should be trained the same. Like propping up legs, not letting the heals drag the bed. We DID NOT have much of issues with bed soars. I advise making your presence known. I feel it makes a difference. Just don't go on a schedule time. Suggest.. put a camera in the room, make sure you have admin approval, put up a sign. This facility is older, small rooms. The window seal in my mom's room needed repairs. I chose this facility because it was close to home, I could be there in 5 minutes. If it becomes necessary again, we would consider to stay again. You just have to stay involved in your loved one's care. Make them give you information, keep the communication open with all the staff.

I had to bring my dad here after he lost his mobility. The staff is great when it comes to his care. He started physical therapy and there are times I have come by for a visit, and witnessed the therapist be encouraging and patient with him. Staff is friendly and understanding. Nurse Inmara and aides are wonderful and have been working with my dad to help him get better. The only complaint he has told me is that they are always giving him something to eat and he’s always full. Not a bad thing at all. I see other patients/ clients happy here.

My sister (GIRLFRIEND) recently died at LEV from Alzheimers . I cannot say enough about the wonderful staff! They are caring and thoughtful and as many times as I had to have the door opened or closed for me to enter the wing, I never heard a grumble!!! Everyone was always pleasant and caring and it is a difficult place to work, but such sweet people!!!!!!!!! I especially appreciated RITA, who was able to get my sister to do anything! Valerie, Tanya, Johnnie, Paulette, Meme, Patsy, Jizela, and Uele are all part of a wonderful group of care givers! Many thanks from the family of Wanda Carmen "GIRLFRIEND"!!!!!!!!!

My mom has stayed here twice now for Respite. Both times she’s come home incredibly happy. She says she makes lots of friends. She has dementia so it’s been hard in the past getting her to go to these places. She gets very scared to be away from me because she doesn’t understand where she’s at or where she’s going. There are so many wonderful people at Winchester I can’t say enough about the business office director, Maggie Levario. She always has time to spend with me and helps me as much as possible. She’s kind and caring. CiCi, the receptionist always shares a smile and a good laugh. And Deidra, the social worker is so busy but always takes time to listen to my concerns and helps any way that she can. The nurses are so good to my mom. I appreciate them very much.

My family member is on the skilled hall there! It's a new nurse named Alicia who just started there and when I tell you she's the BEST she's the best!!! She's so compassionate and knowledgeable!!!! My family member is so in love with her because of the great care she gives!!! Very impressed!!! All other staff has been great also!!! The staff there really take the time and genuinely care!!!! That makes a huge difference!!! Thank you!!!

My son has been at LEV@Winchester for 10 months. What a wonderful place! The staff is wonderful - friendly, yet professional. Cecelia greets everyone with a smile when they enter. The Administrator, Hana, keeps the place running smoothly. Maggie, the Business Manager, has been so helpful in dealing with the financial problems for my son. What a blessing! All the nurses are wonderful, but two I would like to mention are Amanda, the best wound care nurse ever and Xavier who always has a smile and a hello’.The cleaning staff are constantly cleaning so the home has no bad odors. Speaking of odors, go visit at lunchtime and there are wonderful smells coming from the kitchen! My son loves the food!! I am a strong advocate for this place. We are so fortunate to have such a home in Alvin.

I have a loved one who has been at this facility for 4 years. There are so many aspects related to Caregiving and what is covered by Medicare, Medicaid, Private Insurance, etc. that it can be overwhelming. Maggie at The Lev at Winchester in Alvin has been such a blessing and has helped our family above and beyond. Cannot recommend more. My brother was at Winchester several years ago after being in a coma for six weeks. The doctors gave my mother little hope that he would ever walk again. They got him up and he was walking and driving. Through a series of unfortunate incidents, he became bed-bound. We were looking for a place for him to send him for rehab and remembered the care he received years ago. I reached out on Thanksgiving Day just hoping that I would get a response the next day or the next Monday. CeCe emailed me back on Thanksgiving Day and told me what we needed to do. He was approved and several days later finally received word from his insurance that they would cover him. You cannot imagine the relief my family feels. Thank you, CeCe!

When my Mom took a fall and needed a rehab center I was 1200 miles away. Handling these things from a distance is usually difficult to say the least. Cece made the admission process very easy. When I arrived the assessment team had a plan waiting for approval that fit our needs and timeline. All of the staff are very courteous and helpful. The receptionist greets everyone with a smile and cheerful greeting. My wife worked in another nursing home for 20 years and is impressed with the way everything has been handled. I highly recommend this facility for your healthcare needs

I am very please to tell of the wonderful care my nephew received being rehabbed in this truly wonderful facility. My nephew came to the facility with a very horrible foot infection. He was unable to walk due to the injury. He had suffered a mental breakdown and couldn’t remember certain details about his life such as who his family was. The staff at this establishment nursed my nephew back to health through physical, and speech therapy. They showed him love , compassion, patience and the upmost excellent care. My nephew suddenly started back to remember his life and family and Ms Cece helped him contact us on Facebook and we were reunited with my nephew who had been missing for two years. The moment we walked in the facility tears started flowing just from meeting with the front desk clerk happy, thankful, joyful tears we cried together. They went and got my nephew and when his mother and I saw him looking wonderful healthy and well cared for all I could say was thank you Jesus.I cannot say enough about how sincerely grateful I am to these angels. I would 200% recommend The Lev at Winchester if you desire kindness, compassion, and love given to your family member. I moved my cousin into The Lev @ Winchester and CeCe the admissions director and all the staff made it such an easy process. All of the staff here have helped us in so many ways from the transition to the admissions they were here to help in every way possible. They are all professional and so nice! It’s a clean place, my cousin likes it here and all the residents here seem to like it as well. I haven’t seen or heard of anything negative about this place thus far!
