My husband went July 3rd from a 6 day stay at hospital. Went home July 17th. The nursing and physical therapy staff were amazing! The food was delicious. They have a great chef and kitchen staff. Room cleaned everyday. He had consistent care for his breathing problems and medicine needs. To get discharged he had to have a score of 85 from therapy. He made a 100! Nick, the director of therapy was so nice and knowledgeable.

Our mother moved here in January from another ALiving in Alabama. The Reserve has been a blessing to us. At previous place, she would not eat and stayed in her room all the time. At The Reserve, she gets out of her room for many of the activities, has access to PT, is in a safe environment, enjoys the food and all the employees and residents are so friendly and helpful. I've cried many tears of JOY to see her out of depression since moving here!

My 91 year old Father fell at home and broke his hip. After a short hospital stay it was determined that he should go to a rehab facility where he could get intensive PT and "round the clock" care as family told the staff he gets slightly confused at night and due to urinary urgency he trys to get up on his own. At first the family was told he could not have his walker until PT evaluated him but, they later relented since he had his own. That very night he got up and fell. The staff found him at 4:30am and let the family know. The next morning they "forgot" to get him any breakfast and Dad says they hadn't come to check on him in sometime. Family repeatedly asked to speak with DON who never came. PT was very good, kind and efficient. That's what he was there for so it was decided by family to leave him another night and give the facility a chance. When family visited the next morning Dad said he tried to get help, fell going to bathroom, and sat there calling out for help and then crawling around on floor calling out for help. Staff finally got him up but, failed to report this fall to family or the day shift. Family later found bruises on his back where he had fallen. Again the DON, CEO or other administrative staff were unavailable. Family took him home and will arrange in home care. What the facility didn't know is that several members of our family are Doctors, Nurses and Social Workers so we know what good care should look like and this wasn't it. The place looks lovely but, all that glitters is not gold.

I was a patient at Reserve for about 2 weeks. Most of the nurses were very nice and took care of me well. I had a problem with 4 nurses and 3 nurse assistants. Most problems was with the nursing staff in the evenings. I would push my call bell and since they don't have intercoms in the rooms it requires the staff to have to physically come to your room to turn it off. I had major surgery performed on my knee where the pain was very severe. On 5 occasions I pushed the call button and waited over 2 hours with nobody coming to check on me or to give me my medication. 3 times I was able to get into my wheelchair and go to the nurses station where it was very dark and I could hear the pinging sounds at the station to let the nurse know that they were needed by a patient. I was shocked to see the nurse sitting there and to me she appeared to be sleeping. She jumped up and asked me why I was out of my bed. I told her that I was waiting for 2 hours and then I said what would have happened if it was a serious emergency and one of the elderly people were having a heart attack or something serious in those lines. She didn't answer my question but insisted that she wasn't sleeping but I could tell otherwise. And her assistant was in the sitting area doing something on the computer but also was ignoring the pinging of the call bells. I had an issue where my knee swelled up to 5 times it's size. One of the nurses assistants said to me on 4 occasions that she would hate to see that I might have to get my leg amputated. That totally shocked me that she had the nerve to say that to me and to put that thought in my head. There were a lot of other things that had happened but I could probably keep typing for a half an hour with all my complaints that I had about Reserve. Like I said main complaint was that they were in no rush to assist you after after you pushed your call button. But again there were many great nurses there that responded immediately to your needs. All the nurses and staff were very respectful in the way that they spoke to you. They just need to have a supervisor there at night to keep everybody on the right path.

I've worked here since the doors opened 5 1/2 years ago and I can honestly say that it is the best place I have worked at regarding skilled nursing. I have worked at three other skilled nursing facilities, and by far, this is the best facility to be a part of. I know that no facility is perfect, but I can honestly say the compassion and enthusiasm that I see on a daily basis, for our residence is truly outstanding. I am part of a dynamic rehab department that truly sees great outcomes. I plan on working at this facility until I retire.
