Moving states and facilities was not easy for my mom. It took some adjusting. The director and all the staff at Emory Ridge have been very understanding and helpful during the transition! They are kind, patient, and truly have the residents best interest at heart. It’s wonderful to see the staff interaction and desire to get to know every resident on a personal level. The facility is welcoming and always has something mentally/socially stimulating going on for the residents from daily activities to mealtime. My mom is participating in life again! When I have had questions or comments, they are heard and responded to. They care about the residents but also the family. I am very relieved and pleased with Emory Ridge!

Emory Ridge has been so wonderful to my mother. She is so happy and thriving at 92. Her care team and the Administration there are wonderful and provide high quality care and concern for her everyday! My mom is happy at Emory Ridge! Emory Ridge is a Memory Care-only facility. I highly recommend it. Unlike some facilities that house memory care residents on hallways that dead end, this facility is pentagon shaped, which permits residents to walk continuously. The hallways are wide, very well lit, nicely decorated. Residents can freely move in and out of the central courtyard, which is open to the sky and has two covered porches, providing safe outdoor time. The facility has two large lounge areas in addition to the dining area. My mother was at Emory Ridge for 4 years until she passed. When she entered, the management staff and caretakers were like family: they were very involved in the residents’ care and interacted often and well with the residents’ families. The staff did an excellent job helping her adapt. The residents’ families also became a type of family for each other, and these families interacted during their visits with my mother and other residents, just as we interacted frequently with various residents. Approximately 18 months after my mother moved in, Emory Ridge (then known as Truewood) was purchased by Inspirit Senior Living. Inspirit implemented an excellent, major remodeling project which significantly enhanced the appearance. What I describe next is negative, but PLEASE READ TO THE END of this review to learn the POSITIVE ENDING. As you may have read in other reviews, the administrator instated by Inspirit was poorly skilled in business management, had poor people skills, was definitely inferior as a staff and client administrator, irritated families, was the reason several families transferred their loved one to a different facility, and the reason many reliable and caring staff departed. For the first 18 months Mom was there (as Truewood) we saw very little staff turnover, interactions with the administrator was a pleasure, the residents, staff, and family members were essentially one big extended family. However, Inspirit’s new administrator degraded that environment quickly. For the next two years, that administrator and her immediate assistant rarely spoke to me or my wife, even though we were there several times weekly and passed by the office each time we entered and exited the facility. Unlike the previous administrator, we rarely saw this administrator walking the facility and interacting with residents. She was not on-site often. Throughout her tenure, the facility had extremely, extremely high caretaker and staff turnover high turnover is always a sign of very poor management, regardless of the business, and high turnover also results in turmoil for staff, residents, and family. We chose not to relocate my mother only because we knew the shock of moving her would accelerate death. Only a few of the original caretakers stayed through these rough times. Regardless, the staff continued to take the best care of the patients they could with limited resources. THE GOOD NEWS: That administrator has been removed. A new, skilled administrator was instated Nov. 2025. We saw a change in the facility’s attitude immediately. This new administrator has worked here for many years in various roles, understands the needs of the families and residents, knows every resident by name and their families, and knows what is needed to return the facility to the close-knit, family-feel facility that it was prior to the poor administrator. Finally, (a) the food was excellent for our 4-year stay (great cooks my mother loved it and gained weight we observed the excellent quality many, many times when onsite to visit and assist her, and occasionally had the opportunity to partake), (b) everyone (nursing, caretakers, janitorial, maintenance, cooks, other staff) truly are concerned for and fall in love with the residents and look out for their well-being, (c) the facility is clean, and no body fluid aroma, (d) the activities director keeps the residents involved, and (e) the nursing director/case worker is very active to obtain the best care. I encourage you to visit the facility.

I have no words to describe the love and care of the facility staff members. My mom was here for almost 6 months and was well taken care of. Until she took her last breath, she was loved and treated with kindness, respect and dignity. Thank you for everything that you did to make this as easy as possible. I was able to be here as her daughter, not the caretaker and I am so grateful for that Briscoe, Kendra, Heather, Jackie, Alexis, Savanah, Shakira, Dwight, Sarah and Kayla. I hope I didn't forget anyone. Thank you all so much!!!

Emory Ridge is a facility that is fantastic and I’m very happy that I placed my mother in there. They’re very caring communicative and I know that they put my mother first. I’m a huge supporter of Emory Ridge and the staff and I want to thank them very much. It was a very easy process to get into and they worked well with my long-term healthcare that my mother had a facilitated everything and made it easy on myself and my family to have my mom enter into the facility. Briscoe Melissa and Kendra leads to staff and they do a fantastic job. The Cnas the maintenance staff and especially the lovely lady that is always working and cleaning the place up and I apologize. I can’t remember her name is terrific and she’s always working so hard. The cafeteria crew does a great job of feeding the patient as well as you could bring your own cereal that I know my mother loves raisin bran crunch and she gets it every morning cause that’s what she wants.

I couldn’t ask for a better place. The building is always clean and welcoming, and the staff is truly outstanding ” friendly, caring, and professional every day. It’s a wonderful environment for both residents and families. Highly recommend Emory Ridge!

Staff has always been very helpful, assists with any questions even when they are obviously busy. All of the staff are wonderful, very caring and friendly. Positive atmosphere, every time I have been onsite there are a variety of activities (music/games). Highly recommend!

My mother has lived at Emory Ridge for 3 1/2 years. She is comfortable and content. The environment is attractive and comfortable in the social spaces. It is clean and smells like a home with no offensive strong odors like many senior facilities have. She enjoys the food and the meals are varied and appropriate for older adults. Although she cannot participate in most activities there are many offered. The common spaces have tvs and music and activity centers. No place is perfect, but I believe my mother feels comfortable and cared for. The caregivers and staff respond with kindness and patience and do their best to meet all their needs. They make an effort to know the residents and their special needs and interests.

We moved our 92 yr. old Mom to Emory Ridge because the care she was receiving at an Assisted Living/Memory Care facility had declined significantly and the director was not interested in making any changes. We knew it would be a good place for our mom after Briscoe gave us a tour and described how the company was founded and their values. Moving our Mom to Emory Ridge was the best decision we could have made because all the activities, the facility, the food, and the care was focus on memory care-only residents rather than memory care being a "second fiddle" to assisted living residents (and grouped with assisted living residents for activities). The facility has amenities specific for memory care residents. All the staff from the director to the director of nursing and the care givers truly cared about the residents. The director, who is an experienced RN, was often seen in scrubs working on the floor. Another big difference was that the director is an RN who has worked with the elderly and knows what they need rather than someone who only knows the business end of managing a facility. Our mother "blossomed" under their care. We no longer had to visit every day to check up on the care she was getting. The food was of high quality. My mother loved listening to the guest musicians and participating the in birthday parties for residents. We know that she got the best care possible at Emory Ridge.

This place is amazing! My mom has been there for almost a year and has made huge milestones since she moved in. She was unable to walk or stand alone and was in a wheelchair. She can now stand and walk without a walker. She never came out of her room before and now she comes out and socializes all day. The nurses treat her like family. My mom smiles all the time and is extremely happy since she moved in. This is her favorite nurse and I love how much she loves her! You can see the love in this picture and I couldn’t love it more!! Thank you Emory Ridge for hiring truly caring and compassionate employees!

My grandmother resides at this facility and it is amazing knowing that your loved ones are cared for when you can’t be there. The DON seems to give 150% to make sure that all of the residents are not only having their needs met but also feel loved by all the staff. The staff seems to know their residents and are a fantastic resource! The entire staff are welcoming and knowledgeable. They work hard to daily to take exceptional care of our loved ones. I am truly grateful to everyone there for taking such amazing care of someone that I love so much!

Emory Ridge is conveniently located and always bright and welcoming. The staff is wonderful. They are people who are called to work with seniors and I appreciate the care they give my sister. I visit most every day and at random times. I am always grateful that when my sister was no longer able to live at home that there was a place for her at Emory Ridge.

I love this facility. It is been like home for my husband. The nurse staff has been wonderful and attentive and the caregivers really seem to care!
November 2024
From the day I left my sister at this place , I knew I had found a great place for her. This place is very attentive to their patients. I couldn’t believe the love my sister was given. She was always clean and well dressed. The attendants were always friendly and eager to help. My sister had to have special care her last year. They were so attentive. I tell everyone that this is the best place for a loved one. I was always confident that my sister was cared for even though my Circumstances prevented me to go often.

I have no reason to complain about anything. Referd seems very content at Emory Ridge. Our son is reporting his findings about his dad to me. He seems to think that his dad is doing as good as can be expected. I have been there when he eats. I think he likes the food. Most of the time he looks clean and well dressed. Thanks for taking care of him. Lucille Kirkland

They did not do what they promised they would do. They never checked on my grandpa. They left him in wet pants all the time bc they didn’t change his depends like there suppose to. They never fixed the problems that I had to make things better for him. They don’t give the medicine like there suppose to. When they die good luck of your family member bc there’s NO NURSE at night to give round the clock pain meds and they don’t even call u when ur loved one is dying so you can’t sit with them and comfort them. If your loved one don’t want a bath they don’t make them they could go days with no bath. Here’s so pictures I delt with nonstop and they wouldn’t fix anything that was going on. They brushed it under the rugs. It shows how much they cared. The lady over the caregivers and nurses terrible. If my loved one didn’t eat his oatmeal they would put it back into the container that was made up weeks ago when ur suppose to through it out. He had stage three sores from were the urine ate the skin. Found his pills a couple of times in his room on the floor. Dirty dishes. Really investigate before you stick your loved one in a home. Just bc there nice don’t mean they get great care!!!!! Dirty dishes were they don’t clean them good enough.

My Father-in-law has been a resident for three months now. He is in so much better health and care than before he got here. Nurse Kathy is amazing along with Peter, Margie, and Sheila as well! Caregivers Brandi, Paige, and Marissa are also great! We are so blessed to have found such a wonderful and caring place for our Pop! On top of all they do they go above and beyond with activities and "field trips" to make his experience there a delight!!! Thank you all!!
