My 80 year old mother has been at The Blakeford for 6ish years. She adores it. Says it is "the people" who make it what it is. She means staff and clientele. Also beautiful interior and food is often incredibly good. Especially for the pricing. Why I'm reviewing today: Mom was very unwell today. I was out of town. My brother out-of-pocket for a couple of hours, so neither of us could get to her. Called the front desk. Got Stacey on the phone (who we know well and who is always an angel and so helpful in every way). Described to Stacey what was going on. Wanted a health aide or someone to go check on her. Stacey had a better option: she had a healthcare worker from the on-side Vandy clinic go to mom's independent living apartment. He took her to the Vandy clinic. They called me and we were able to figure out best next steps. I didn't even know a Vandy clinic was available (is located in the other branches of The Blakeford's buildings—not IL). Mom was able to stay home and not make an unnecessary trip to the ER or an almost-logistically impossible visit to her primary care doc. Big, BIG kudos to Stacey. And to Alicia and James from the Vandy clinic staff. Between the three of them, my mother is safe and secure in her home and now with my brother. Without an ER trip. Without trying to move small mountains to get her to her PCP. Thank you, Stacey, James and Alecia. Our family is so grateful to you and the entire Blakeford staff. (And big, BIG shoutout to Sherry who has worked in the hospitality and kitchen side for many years now—she's been one of my mom's, my and our family's special angels for years now ) Final shoutout to supervisor/chef Jean in the kitchen—always so incredibly helpfu and friendly when I see her at Sunday brunch. Just a delightful human from our brief visit is. And the omelette, pancakes and waffles she does to order for the Sunday brunch are just amazing. And her veggie soup/stew this past Sunday exactly what my and my mom's body needed. Please pass our deep gratitude to each of them

Thanks Blakeford of Green Hills for providing such a wonderful place for seniors. We are blessed to be part of your family.Last summer (2018), my parents moved into the Blakeford. As expected, there was a transition period in moving from their beautiful home of many years into a retirement community. However, from day one, the staff and the residents were warm and welcoming and my parents quickly grew to enjoy the friendly faces, surroundings, services and safety offered by the Blakeford. The facility and the grounds are wonderful, and the location is perfect in the heart of Green Hills. Their apartment is beautiful and the convenience to the parking garage, dining room and other amenities is great! There are lots of ways to get involved at the Blakeford with the many activities offered. But most of all, its the residents and the staff that make the Blakeford a special place.Being able to live independently in this safe, beautiful and warm community without the worry and hassles of a single family home has been a great fit!

Incredible staff, very clean facility, warm and receptive when I am there. Residents are upbeat and moving around and the general attitude is positive. Plenty of amenities and things to do in the Green Hills area. The Activities Director is extremely active with this community.

This place is amazing. My part moved here 10 years ago. My mother passed away 2 years ago. From the first day we were here, their car has been perfection. My brother and I have not had one regret. When mother was sick, Daddy could just walk to the elevator, and then go to her floor and see her every day, all day!!! We wouldnt change a thing!! Thank you, so much, all of the wonderful staff here at Blakeford, for ALL that you do for our parents and friends here.

This place is very nice but the security is unprofessional. They put random parking violations on your car randomly threatening to fine you $50. They do it randomly not knowing whose car they are ticketing. On top of that there is only one parking lot and the parking spots are never taken and their is no sign saying that you cant park there. Its very strange and unorganized.

Cant believe my mother has been at Blakeford in assisted living for 4 years! It was the right move, the BEST move. She receives outstanding care from the techs and nurses. Mom loves the restaurant quality food, especially the soups and desserts! She enjoys the activities and parties. She has had a couple of illnesses, injuries and spend some time in the health center. Same excellent quality of care, same compassionate staff!This is exactly the care I wanted for my precious mother! For anyone looking for care for a family member, I highly recommend Blakeford for all levels of care!
