In January of 2023, our Family made the necessary decision to transition my Wife to Belmont Senior Living Memphis - Memory Care. Having taken care of her for 4 1/2 yrs at home, all advice was that she needed access to ongoing medical & nutritional care. I researched, visited, priced & met w/ 13 (yes 13) facilities in the greater Memphis area. Our Family agreed that Belmont was the very best choice. From Senior & daily Leadership, meal/snack variety & preparation, on-site medical professionals, and the critically important Staff who daily provide professional & compassionate care for the Residents; we KNOW we made the best decision. Daily activities, group trips, transportation to outside appointments, numerous physicians who support Belmont with weekly visits, entertainment and weekly Devotional offerings - my Family cannot thank Belmont enough. We would strongly encourage any Family facing the important life decision for senior living & care to contact and visit Belmont Village - Memphis. You will be providing your loved one with professional, safe, concerned and compassionate care.

Belmont Has been a true blessing for my family. My dad is 93 and has been living here for a couple of years. Can I just say. He is very involved in many activities that are offered here. He has many many friends that live there as well as the staff. The nursing staff are awesome! I never have a worry because if they think something is off with my dad they immediately let me know. I can call them at anytime and they are always courteous, kind, and understanding if I have any questions at all about my dad. From the moment you walk in the door you fell like you are home!!!

I’ve lived here for 2 1/2 years. I love the community and we have occasional outings that allow the residents to go out together. The atmosphere is nice.

It has taken me a long time to write this review because my mother used to say, "If you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything." But some things needs to be said to paint a different picture of the almost 5 star reviews listed. My mother was in memory care here. The Good about the facility: Stephanie worked with me regarding financials. Whenever I would email her regarding a discrepancy, she would take care of it. I appreciated that. Jill was a jewel, assisting me in getting my mother to the facility. I was grateful. Weekend nurse, Caroline-very forthcoming with information regarding my mother and what she was doing. The evening shift nurse(her name escapes me right now) treated my mother like she was her own. That is the kind of care you would want from a nurse when you are far away. The lady at front desk was always so kind to me. When I finally met her, it felt like I had known her for a long time. Oh, I almost forgot the PALS- the "nursing helpers". They were worked together every time i would show up.They took pride in what they did in caring for my mom when they changed her or turned her. They worked together a lot, and I was so grateful and thankful for them that they showed dignity to my mother, despite the circumstances. But this place is deceiving. The BAD: that DON(director of nursing), Natasha. The only good thing she did was to do a thorough assessment at the onset to get my mother admitted. During the course of my mother's stay, I would reach out to her. No call back. She would only call me IF she felt I was not listening to her nurses regarding my mom's care regarding hospitalization. No other time would she call, even though I would have called her regarding other issues. She was very argumentative when she finally decided to answer. She would say that she would look into something and never followed up. I remember our 1st telephone encounters where i was trying to express to her my concerns regarding my mother, and of course she started throwing her title around about being the director of nursing and her tone changed being very stern. Lady, your title means nothing to me. I have worked with countless DONs, and not one of them would still have their jobs talking to people like you did me. But I took her rude condescending tone because everything I did was for my mother. I could go on and on about her, but she's absolutely not worth the words on this page. The day shift nurse(I can't recall her name) seemed like she was very helpful in the beginning, but all of that came to a screeching halt. But she couldn't follow orders. When my mother went on hospice, my specific instructions to the hospice nurse were, "only to give pain meds IF my mother was in pain." She had been giving it often not as needed. Of course I called hospice and got the meds discontinued. Another incident that occurred when I popped in again at another time. I was giving my mom water thru a straw, but the water kept coming back out. Something whispered to me to check her mouth. So, I asked her to open as I held my flashlight and what do you know? Her tongue was swollen and was blocking her airway. I had no faith in day shift nursing or the DON at this point. So, I reached out to hospice and they came over in 10 minutes because they were in the area. I told her my findings, and she used her flashlight and saw the same thing. She immediately called the Dr and they rushed mom to the hospital for treatment. Had I not been there, noone would have come to her room as they didn't check on her like they said, and she would have died from obstructive airway. She was diagnosed with angioedema from having an allergic reaction to pain meds that were given by the day shift nurse when she shouldn't have. When we got back to the facility, the nurse comes in and tells me that she's a new nurse there-that this is her 1st day-she was picking up shifts because the regular day shift nurse was working to cover for the evening nurse..and she was sorry. Not good enough. God called mom to eternal peace a month later. God knows...yes, He does

Just have to say what a blessing Belmont Village is to our community. I moved my Mom from Hawaii where we are from to Belmont to be closer to us in Memphis. We explained to the staff that Mom had been a professional hula dancer in her youth and wanted to live her last days in Hawaii. With Alzheimers, it's really tough not to have your loved ones close but we were naive about the disease and tried our best to long distance for three long years (my entire family is still there, but I am the primary care giver) After touring ALL of the facilities in Memphis, Belmont was the perfect fit. From intake to end of life care, Belmont always made sure to honor Mom's Hawaiian heritage and took the absolute best care of her for her remaining years. The staff is incredible, the facility is clean and the team really understands the importance of taking great care of our loved ones. I can't say enough good things about this special place that made my Mom's last days some of her best!

My brother has been living here for a little less than a year now and I can not say enough good things about Belmont. The kitchen staff is attentive and friendly and they all know him by name and what he likes or doesn’t like. The nurses are exactly on time with his medications and go out of their way to answer questions and help him when he needs it. They all make such a huge difference for the family because we know he’s being treated extremely well and taken care of by the best. I have zero concerns about him being there!! Can’t say thank you enough.

I have nothing but great things to say about Belmont Village. The only negative comments I've ever heard about this place are from disgruntled employees who aren't doing their job and who are shown the door. My experience with Belmont has been that they do not tolerate anything but excellent resident care from their staff. My mother has been a resident at Belmont since the fall of 2008. It was not an easy decision for our family, and we took our search very seriously. I have two brothers and a sister who were also involved in the search, and we must have looked at a dozen communities before making our decision. What kept us coming back to Belmont was the warm reception that we felt from not only their staff, but from the other seniors that live there. They welcomed my mother with open arms, and made the transition go so smoothly. The Activity Director makes sure that Mother attends their daily exercise group, and always involves her in the outings, because she knows that she loves to get out and about. They even continue to host her weekly Mahjong group, complete with refreshments and a private meeting space, just so she can continue her friendship with her friends that she has known for years. Belmont has been a lifesaver for Mother and our whole family, because we know that she is being well taken care of each and every day.

Wow, where do I start? I wish I had found this place when my uncle was living. My aunt and uncle never had children, so it was left up to me to make sure that they were taken care of. My Aunt Louise has Parkinson's disease, and my uncle always looked after her, until he passed away suddenly of a heart attack five years ago. My wife and I did not realize how bad off Anna Louise was, until we spent some time with her after my uncles death in 2012. It turned out that she was needing help with bathing and dressing as well as her medications, not to mention help in the restroom. None of us realized how much Uncle Steve was actually helping her, until he wasn't here anymore. At that point, I felt a strong obligation to make sure that Aunt Louise got the best care possible. It turns out that one of my childhood friends now works with the elderly as a case manager, and she told me that she has had dozens of families who have had family members over the years at Belmont and have been extremely pleased. That spoke volumes to me, and my wife and I decided to take a look at this community. I cannot tell you how impressed we have been after we placed Aunt Louise here. The staff have truly became family. They are extremely professional, from the caregivers who take such wonderful care of her to the Executive Director who runs Belmont. So many of their staff members have been with this community since the place opened. Where else do you see that? Even Aunt Louise loves it! Her two new best friends, Nell and Ethel have been so wonderful for her. It's like she's started to live again, and I never thought that would happen after she lost Uncle Steve. She's gained 15 pounds, that she desperately needed to gain. She had started missing meals, and not taking her medicines correctly at home. Now, I don't have to worry about those things anymore. Thank you for being there when I needed you, Belmont Village!
