I'm not the one who pays the bill for my mother to stay here, thank goodness, and I have made only a few visits. The building and the grounds are very nice. The staff is very nice and helpful and they keep up with Mom's meds and keep the room clean. They take care of laundry and provide meals but I hear the lunch is pretty awful. I haven't heard an opinion about breakfast and dinner. The rooms are small so that might explain the small toilet. The shower is a fiberglass stall and plastic shower curtain, prone to allowing water to get on the floor. A bit more cabinet space would be helpful.

This place is a lifesaver. My mom was at a different facility for about 5 months and the facility she was at also killed her. We found Brookdale through Hospie and this facility has saved my mother. She is thriving now. Couldn't be more grateful for the staff and caregivers. They love my mom and she loves them.

I placed my father in the care of Brookdale Johnson City in January and the care has been outstanding. They keep me apprised of what is going on in my father's life and have been extremely supportive of me, while also offering outstanding care for my father. They are addressing all of his needs and more, which has set my mind at ease since he did live two hours away by himself. I have had three sisters and a cousin visit him as well and they have praised the facility as well, saying I made a good choice. I believe I did and have absolutely no regrets as my dad lives out the latter stage of his life. They have been a blessing.

We at Avenues Home Care worked with Brookdale Johnson City with a resident that was moving in before she moved in. Since she has moved in she has done amazing. I am very impressed with how they have helped her settle in and how warm, encouraging and welcoming they have been to her. The entire staff go above and beyond to make all of their residents feel loved and supported.

Generally care was good. Price nearly doubled in 4 years. In trying to seek another fee increase,nursing staff made life threatening errors resulting in my father in-laws rapid demise.

I am in the community providing dementia caregiver support on a monthly basis. They provide specialized programming for their residents living with cognitive impairment and offer extra support to families. I appreciate the relationship with have with Brookdale Johnson City!

My Dad was in Memory Care. The issues I had were with laundry and housekeeping. My Dad was very particular about his clothes and I knew what clothing I had brought for him . I would come to visit and the clothes he had on weren’t his!! I would go thru his closest to sort out clothing. When he passed, we had very few of his original clothes. Very sad, to say the least. This also happened with room decor. Clothes where balled up and stuffed into his chest. Instead of personal protection pads in his bed, I would find towels piled up to cause him discomfort when he slept. All of his clothes were label in several places with his room number. I have debated about posting this for a year. But my goodness, our loved ones deserve to be taken care of!!

We moved my grandfather there because he could no longer safely live alone. The facility is very clean and well laid out. He stays in the assisted living wing. The helpful staff and friends he has made helped him decide this is where he wants to stay. It is very easy to come in and see him and I'm always greeted by a friendly face at the front door.

I had searched many Brookdale facilities and this one has been the best. It is bright, clean and the staff is wonderful. They take the best care of my family member. I never have to worry about her care. They keep me informed if ever there is any issue. Kathleen Merholz deserves a gold star in the way she takes care of each resident. I am very pleased with the services my family member receives.

We could not be happier for our mother to be at Brookdale Johnson City! In an effort to have her much closer to family, we recently moved Mom to Brookdale Johnson City from a larger memory care community in a neighboring state. The difference in her care has been remarkable. Mom's health, general well-being and happiness has improved dramatically in her three months at Brookdale, JC. From the Administrators to the Healthcare Directors and care-giving staff, the team is well-trained, professional, attentive, sincere, knowledgeable, kind and so very welcoming. They all treat Mom as if she were their own and celebrate the person she is! I so appreciate regular personal "check-ins" from the staff (an email or phone call), asking what they can do better to meet Mom's needs. Brookdale Johnson City has wonderful enrichment programs, activities and family involvement. The entire experience has been relational and personal--very different from the lack of care and the cold "transactional/business feel" we experienced elsewhere. Brookdale JC is a clean and lovely facility with friendly neighborhoods. Mother is thriving and I highly recommend Brookdale Johnson City to others. Five stars.

My mom moved here in Jan 2022. We both have made many new friends among the staff and residents. The staff are warm, kind and very considerate. My mother has never lived on her own in 89 years and now with dementia this has been an adjustment for all of us. I feel strongly that we have found a good partnership at Brookdale. We are very grateful.

The staff at Brookdale of JC provide compassionate care for our loved one living with dementia. Any concerns that we have are handled expeditiously. Knowing that our loved one is being cared for in a loving environment adds to our comfort level. We highly recommend this facility as a quality assisted living/ memory care in our community!

My Mother is a resident at Brookdale Johnson City Assisted Living Side and is thriving well. She receives socialization, dietary nourishment and caring people meeting her needs each day. She is content and it gives me peace knowing she has qualified people meeting these needs.

As a professional musician and full-time entertainer, I perform approximately 200 shows per year at various senior communities, in addition to my other many musical endeavors, and the shows I've played at Brookdale Johnson City over the last ten years or so are truly some of the most memorable, and I have met, befriended, and fell in love with many there whom I will never forget. As usual, the outward beauty of the facility is only part of the story...the real beauty is in the hearts of the people there. Susan Katko, the Life Enrichment/Activities Director is the most cheerful, warm, and loving person toward her resident family that I know of, and every time I am there to perform, she is right in the middle of things, celebrating and participating with her beloved residents. Love is impossible to fake for very long---maybe one could get away with faking it for a short time---but having known and worked with Susan for about a decade, I can say that she always behaves as if God Himself is watching (and He is), and I have never played a show for her and her residents where she doesn't have them assembled, happy, and involved. If I had a loved one who was in need of senior care, and had heard the senior care speech about "your loved one's quality of life being our number one priority here...", this is one facility, thanks to the love and care and EFFORT of the staff, where I believe that platitude to be true. I have many beautiful memories of friends and members of the Greatest Generation I have made there, and look forward to many happy returns with my rockin' peeps at Brookdale Johnson City!

My father has been here since June and the staff is great. He is very happy here and the staff takes great care of him and treat him like he was their father. Can’t say enough good things about the people here. If your love needs care, wouldn’t recommend anyplace but here.

My father in law lives there. He has a nice room and is able to have his own furniture. It's a nice looking place - very clean and homey-feeling. I like the fireplace. He loves sitting outside on the porches. There's a really nice enclosed outdoor area with lots of flowers. I recommend this place if you're looking for a nice place for someone to live who needs help taking care of themselves. He doesn't participate in a lot of the activities but he loves when they have entertainers who play music. The workers are friendly and helpful.

Brookdale is a great facility to take a loved one. I have visited several friends and church members throughout the years that have lived here. They have recently finished renovations and it looks great! Brookdale is clean, accommodating and the staff does a great job with residents.

I am very pleased with Brookdale where my mother resides in the Memory Care portion of the facility. The staff are all very kind and take care to make my mother, and me, happy. Tall order. They are a terrific group of caregivers.
