Moved after husband passed away. Everyone is extremely friendly and the activities are there for anything that you might enjoy . I will give the food a 4*. The reason a 4 is I don’t think any place is worth a 5. The meals are very varied and the chefs soups are unbelievably delicious. If you are considering making a life changing move, I would recommend the Heritage.

The Heritage has been such a wonderful experience - from all the new friends that we have made, to the delicious food, art classes, exercise classes, bingo, gardening, musical entertainment, and community games. We have felt so welcomed!

I love the green space around the apartments and having a plot in the community gardens. Having lots of activities, PT and a gym on site are real pluses.

Moving to The Heritage 3 years ago was the best decision we ever made. The decision to choose The Heritage was based on a few things: the activities, the food, the staff and Somerfield Health Center. If rehab is needed, I don't have to drive anywhere. All I have to do is go down the hall. Everything is connected under roof. The Healthy Life Center with our on-site Fitness Manager allows us to continue our exercise regime; once again, without having to leave the community. The residents are wonderful and very social. It is easy to make new friends here.

My wife and I have been here for over seven years. Moving here was the best decision. My wife and I have made there are many things to do every day on the calendar. The food has a great variety and is very good. It is truly easy living.

We have lived at the Heritage for more than three years and loved every moment. The staff is special providing excellent service always. My favorite servers in the restaurants are Yatzari, Dolma, and Sachiko among others. Chef Thomas has created varied and interesting options with many choices svailable between Fireside Grill, Southern Oak, and the carry out Market menu. We are never wanting!

The kind and caring staff help us to feel as if we are at home as soon as we move in. The food is great, and menus rotate every two weeks with multiple choices every day. We're given nutrition information about our meal options. The number of activities is impressive, and the healthy life center offers a pool, fitness center, and group exercise classes. Physical therapy and the nursing home are all under the same roof. It's a great life-style that helps us as we age. My children have a strong sense of my safety! It gives them peace of mind.

We moved to The Heritage at Brentwood five years ago and I have never regretted it. We moved because of the continuing care aspect of the community, since my husband had Parkinson’s Disease and would probably need nursing care at some point. That point in time arrived December, 2025. His transition went smoothly, his care was good. The CNAs and nurses made sure he was well cared for; the Activities group kept inviting him to various activities (movies, book readings, art, exercise, and musical performances); the food services people learned his favorites quickly and made sure they were available. On the other hand, our life in independent living has been full of fun, people, and the ability to pursue our favorite hobbies. There are educational programs (avoiding scams, discussions on allergies, learning about the signers of the Declaration of Independence are three really recent ones), music opportunities, trips to interesting places and fitness programs. I am quite happy here.

We’ve been here for 6 months and couldn’t be more satisfied. It’s a friendly, caring and thoughtful community. Lots of activities both in the Heritage complex itself and the surrounding communities of Franklin & Nashville. No question or request is too small. Communication is a cornerstone of the management team. The menus at the Fireside Grill & Southern Oaks restaurants is extensive and changes every 2 weeks. The neighbors are friendly and welcoming. Our apartment was completely upgraded before we moved. We had input into the design and had the choice of several locations. It’s one of the best decisions we have ever made.

My wife and I decided to down size and move to The Heritage. The quality of life, activities, and meals were attractive, but continued health care was the deal closer. Unfortunately my wife unexpected died before our move, but my decision to make the move alone is one of best decisions of my life. I have not had one moment of doubt or second guessing.

My husband and I moved in earlier this week and it is truly a dream come true! We feel as though we’ve moved into an upscale CountryClub with all the amenities and so much fun! The staff always finds a way to help and say yes! We are so thankful to have this right in the heart of Brentwood where we can stay and age in the community that we’ve called home for over 36 years. The neighbors that we have met have been beyond kind, knowledgeable, and friendly! Such a blessing for us.

All things considered I would rather be in my mountain house snugged up against the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and still hiking 500 miles per year. But at 85 with some serious health issues, I can't do that anymore. I had some concerns making the transition to an independent living facility. Not anymore. After 15 months at The Heritage at Brentwood, I am at home. Comfortable. Secure. Even happy. The Heritage has been everything they said it was. Absolutely as advertised. The staff is incredible. Warm, friendly, helpful and welcoming. The grounds are beautiful and kept that way by a crew that seems to work all day every day. Same for the inside. Spotless, bright and refreshing. There is more activity and community life than I can keep up with. And the food is good. Really good. I've gained 20 pounds! I can still hike. Not as far or as fast or as steep, but the 48-acre campus has its own walking paths and connects to miles of greenways and is just minutes from two awesome parks. At this stage of my life, I can't imagine a better place to be.

We have lived at The Heritage just over 2 years and are in our late 70’s. I’m so glad we moved while we are able to enjoy the multitude of activities they offer. I regularly go to the water exercise class in our large, heated pool 3x/ week, a stretch and balance class 2x/week, and a Zumba Gold class. Love them all! Many activities change every month. This month we are both taking an acrylic painting class- just for fun - we are not artists! We’re also taking Heritage transportation into Nashville to see Hamilton and to attend a dinner theater. The residents and staff are SO friendly! They all make an effort to learn names. While we’ve met many folks from this area, we’ve also met residents from Washington, Michigan. Wisconsin, New York, Georgia, Alabama, and Florida! I love that we’re not the only ones that hail from another area! While living here both of us have needed physical therapy. The on- site group is excellent! They are so knowledgeable and have a heart for Seniors, plus it’s so convenient. I also love that our grandkids are welcome to visit and enjoy the amenities with us. Family is so important to us and now, in addition to our actual family, we have our Heritage Family - a caring group of neighbors and staff that will help and support us in every way possible!

I moved my mom to the Heritage 2 years ago. The independent living apartments are fine as well as the services offered but not extraordinary for the amount of money this costs. However, the reason we chose this place was for the continuum of care up to skilled nursing. We had to move my mom to the assisted living 10 days ago because of her dementia increasing. We were told she would have a phone landline since she has trouble using a cell phone. She has yet to get a working land line and no one seems the least concerned. We were told they would prompt her for activities that she has trouble remembering but then told only activities that were at the assisted living section. We were told she couldn't have her hair dryer or curling iron but there was hairdressing available that she could get weekly. Again, not available unless she walks outside over to the independent living side. No one will help her find her way over there nor will they help her remember her appointment times. So we basically moved her over there for two extra meals and medicine administration. This is a joke! I'm back to doing all of the reminders when I can get her to answer her cell phone. I should have left her in independent and hired helpers for her. The nurses and workers on the floor are super kind but everyone above them have been pretty dismissal to my concerns. I will not be recommending the Heritage to any of my friends who have aging parents in this area! Edit- while the transition from independent living to assisted living was rough, my mom is well taken care of in the Assisted Living section of the Heritage and I am thankful that I moved her where she can be more closely monitored and cared for. Updated review: I wanted to update this review because I know how hard it is to make a decision about care for your loved one. My mom has since moved to the Somerfield side of the Heritage because of her declining memory issues. She’s been there for 18 months. I am highly impressed with the care she receives in this side. The staff especially the activity staff, Jan, Mimi, Brent, and Jacob are so wonderful with the residents. The food service staff is equally kind and attentive. The nursing staff are all wonderful. We are happy we made the decision to choose this facility.

I had the unpleasant experience of dealing with Amy, a kitchen manger at this location. She works with there dinning services and is one the ruddiest and most unpleasant people to encounter. She seemed to have a personal issue with me, but due to her poor articulation skills, could not explain what the real issue is. The other staff here is wonderful , but one bad apple can ruin the bunch.

Daily I’m aware of the efficient and pleasant treatment we get, from the front desk to the least detail - cleaning of our homes and common areas, keeping out grounds in good shape, providing delicious and nourishing meals, keeping us healthy in our fitness areas, and happy in all the great activities and opportunities - on and on I could go. But the past three weeks, as I’ve struggled with bronchitis, I was just overwhelmed with gratitude to realize how wonderful is to have extra help when we need it. Although I’ve certainly used the clinic many times in the past it was especially helpful this time to be able to go down the hall, get checked out, get prescriptions, have the X-ray machine come to my apartment, have transportation take me to my doctor with only one days notice, and have my meals delivered. What a blessing! I can’t tell you how grateful I am to live here and have the cheerful, kind people on staff surrounding us and helping us. I know that you have worked hard to make these things happen, and it really pays off. Please thank everyone for me - all those who serve us so wonderfully. And when we need anything extra - like special set-up or help for Glee Club, technical assistance, help moving heavy items - whatever it is - your staff is just great to do all they can to accommodate us. The Heritage is the place to be, for sure, and I can’t thank you and them enough. With deepest gratitude, Diane Jordan

My grandmother (89) has lived at The Heritage and Somerfield for the past year. I honestly do not know what my family would have done without this wonderful place! We toured four other places but none were as large as The Heritage. It was more expensive to buy in than a month to month but you do receive that back. My grandmother was on the cusp of needing her medicine/ meals regulated by a professional and she has found her niche in the small assisted living section. This is for people who are not ready for skilled nursing and still come and go independently. She has found three close friends in her building and goes to Chico’s, Kroger, etc. with them using the Heritage transportation. Her only complaint is that she wishes there were more male residents on her hallway, ha. The staff are like family at this point. My grandmother has had ups and downs and they always listen closely and respond to my calls/ emails within minutes. I really can’t recommend The Heritage enough!

My mother lived at The Heritage for almost 15 years in her beautiful independent apartment with 3 years in the Somerfield Healthcare facility. She loved living there. it was a wonderful gift she gave to herself and to us, her children, to know she was happy and safe. With an added bonus of all the wonderful friends she made while living there. That included many of the staff members who were always so courteous and caring. My husband and I look forward to living there ourselves one day. We want to continue the same thoughtful gift to our children so they won't have to deal with the burden of, "What to do with Mom and Dad"! We know It will also be a gift to ourselves.

Almost all of the residents I have talked to in the last three years here say they wished they had moved here sooner. The facility and staff are terrific and we residents have a true sense of being heard. The crown jewel of the campus is the residents who come from a wonderful diversified background. Everything is in easy walking distance - meals, clinic, exercise, full calendar of activities, market, physical therapy,, gardening, banking, hair salon, etc. If you are waiting for the right time to move here, my suggestion is you do it a bit earlier rather than later. Cheers.

My wife and I have been living at The Heritage--with its beautiful, parklike 48.5 acre campus--for 3 years. We love it. We have many new friends here, and every day we can choose from around 15 different activities. We can order breakfast, lunch or dinner. The dinner menu, with a choice of 4 salads, 2 soups, 11 entrees, and 11 sides, changes every 2 weeks. The food is great. We have transportation available for local food stores, medical appointments, Nashville Symphony and other special events. You really don't need a car. The Heritage is a wonderful place to live.

I moved to the Heritage for piece of mind. No more house up keep. No more yard work. We have a great staff that takes care of you every need. There is a great selection of food for each meal. The residences here are so friendly. They all become family. There are several activities to choice between. Our grounds are very conducive to walking or riding a bike. There are several trails and sidewalk options for walking. One lap around the grounds is one mile. My home is cleaned once a week or if I have a problem they are here to help clean up on request. The quality of the facility and the promoted lifestyle can be easily observed and appreciated when visiting the grounds at Heritage. Heritage designed the lifestyle and environment to be more like people choose before senior living care is involved. There are different levels of healthcare available right where you are living so the amount of health-related intervention is always appropriate, timely, and conveniently located. My husband and I thought long and hard about selling our house and moving to The Heritage at Brentwood. We came to believe that it was superior to any senior living facility we knew about. There are a few members of the staff who truly care about the residents and try to do their best. The security staff, in particular, are competent, vigilant, and helpful. For the most part, the staff is lazy, incompetent, irritable, and combative. Their website claims that they "deliver a full continuum of quality, long-term health care within the comfort and security of a familiar environment, surrounded by friends, neighbors and a highly-trained, supportive staff" If you are going into retirement, healthy, and able to care for yourself, you may enjoy your life at the Heritage. When you become ill and require more support, you will find the Heritage woefully lacking. The memory care facility that is advertised on their website is non-existent. The assisted living facility is full beyond capacity and not accepting new residents. They are not equipped or willing to provide support to elders who need care.
