Seven years ago, after more than thirty years in retirement, my husband and I realized that maintaining our large house and yard had become increasingly difficult. As our health concerns grew, it became clear that we needed additional support. After visiting several retirement residences, we chose Preston Park II. The transition was challenging because my husband's dementia was progressing, bringing new difficulties for both of us. Fortunately, the staff at Preston Park II were compassionate, understanding, and highly experienced in helping residents and families through these circumstances. As my husband's primary caregiver, I found that the demands of caregiving were beginning to affect my own health. With the staff's guidance and encouragement, I was eventually able to make the difficult decision to move him to a care home where he could receive the higher level of support he needed. Looking back, my only regret is that we did not move to Preston Park II sooner. I believe an earlier transition would have helped my husband adjust more easily and enjoy the lifestyle, activities, and sense of community the residence offers. I will always be grateful for the kindness and support the staff showed us during one of the most challenging times in our lives. Their care and guidance gave me the confidence and peace of mind to make difficult decisions. For anyone considering retirement living, I highly recommend Preston Park II.

I am grateful for the peace of mind I have because of the care my parent receives, since having moved in earlier this year. The staff and management are truly kind and caring; they take the extra steps, go the extra mile and treat the residents feel like family. There is always a solution and a strong can-do attitude. I'm SO glad for having made this choice for my parent's senior living home. The facilities and apartments are beautiful, and the activities are myriad, but they would be nothing without this team.

Our 'over 90' year old Mom made the decision to move into Preston Park 2 in September of 2023. Over this past year, she has adjusted well to living in this friendly, warm and active community. She loves the location, her suite with so much storage space and the daylight that streams in through the large windows. No longer able to drive, she very much appreciates John and the PP2 SUV driving her where she needs to go. This past June, PP2's monthly blood pressure clinic monitored and called the family about her very too high blood pressure and by day's end she was being cared for in RUH. Our family joined in the Grandparent's Day celebration this past weekend (Sept 2024), and all of PP2's hard work and planning as a staff was very much on display from the amazing children's slide/bouncy court and face painting, to the delicious healthy food, and the free-flowing water/tea/lemonade, and the great music!. All of the children, grandchildren and great grandchildren of the Preston Park 2 residents went home very thankful for such a wonderful, creative, meaningful and unique way to spend time with their parent/grandparent/great grandparent. This was just one of the many ways Preston Park 2 staff work to go 'above and beyond' to meet the needs of the residents. As a family we have reserved the pool for the great grandchildren to swim, used the family dining room for small family meals with my Mom, and the Common Room for an 'all family' gathering of 15 great grandchildren, 16 grandchildren & partners, and 8 children & spouses. My Mom's three year old great grandson calls Preston Park 2 "Great Grandma's Very Big House". I think his words capture it all.

My 91 year old mom moved into Preston Park II this summer. The executive director and management team made the administrative tasks associated with the move extremely easy. We knew instantly mom would be in good hands. Once mom arrived the welcome she received was very warm. Staff and residents embraced her making the move from her home of 60 years as easy as possible. Mom's transition was smooth; the caring nature of everyone, the excellent food, and the activities helped her embrace her new home. As a family we cannot say enough how much we appreciate the warm, happy group that works and lives at Preston Park.

I've been working at Preston Park 2 for about two months now. Honestly, it is the best experience I could ask for as an aspiring nurse. We have the nicest residents, it is a pleasure getting to know them and getting life advice from them. The management team is incredibly flexible, which is great since I'm a student. The management team is very approachable and understanding. As well as my Co-workers, we have an incredible staff that works together as a team.

The shining star in the crown of Preston Park II is the caring and patient staff who share their time, skills, and energy with the residents of this retirement living residence. My parent was somewhat reticent to move to a retirement residence, but whenever we visit, I hear good things about the activities, the meals, the amenities, and the care they recieve. Having an indoor pool, a fitness centre, ample social events and activities (including movie nights and sports events in the theatre room!) has really benefitted my parent, who has always been a very social sort of person. It is also close to shopping, restaurants, and pretty much anything else a resident might want. If you or your family member(s) are looking for a comfortable retirement residence in a good area with many other seniors and accessible services, check out Preston Park II.

Several months ago my siblings and I moved my mother into PP2. She is enjoying her suite, the community meals the housekeeping and many of the opportunities to socialize with other seniors. Mom's sons and daughter are enjoying the fact that when Mom needs help it is close by as her needs change. The staff is friendly hard working and caring. Mom particularly enjoys the on site nurse Alam and Karen in the beauty salon.

My mom moved into Preston Park II about 3 months ago after living in another Assisted Living facility. She has commented regularly and really appreciates that the food is very good. There is a good choice of varying activities that she is just beginning to consider. A surprise to her was the accessibility of the senior staff who regularly visit with residents during the lunch hour in the dining room. As well, nursing care has been readily available to assist the residents, even for minor issues. As a visitor, I find the staff friendly and welcoming. We are happy to have chosen Preston Park II as her new residence.

The nursing team at PP2 have been extremely helpful in tending to our mom's needs. Alam, the lead nurse is very prompt with responses to questions/ concerns and is quick to follow up. Our mom thinks that when they visit her for meds and hearing aid battery changes, that they are just coming to tuck her in at night. We feel so good knowing that meds are given as directed and that mom is checked on twice morning and night. Peace of mind for the family is priceless.

We moved Mom into Preston Part 2 last month and I was worried as she didn't like the move into the prior residence. I was happily surprised as she LOVES everything about PP2! the food is fantastic and lots of it! she doesn't often want to get involved in activities but she has been enjoying the music and entertainment. And she loves the movies! --several times a week. the friendly atmosphere and the caring staff make this place incredible! I feel so relieved knowing she is being taken care of and that additional services are available as mom's needs change.

Truly the best retirement residence. Management is always available and respond to any concerns quickly.They know each and every resident, and all their special requirements, and communicate very well with the family. All the staff are very warm, welcoming and genuinely care about the residents. They always take time to make sure the residents are having fun and make every day the best day ever. In this particularly challenging time of COVID-19, I have applauded their efforts to protect the residents and keep family well informed. There are a wide variety of activities and entertainment and the the meals are delicious and nutritious. They are known for having the best homemade soup in the city ( and they really do!) I could never imagine my grandpa anywhere else. I would give this place 100 stars if I could . Well done, Preston Park 2.

I have lived at Preston Park 2 for the past 7 years and cannot imagine living anywhere else. The staff here are like family. The management's doors are always open, and they're always involved in the fun. We can go to them about anything, whether it is to discuss important issues, help with our phones or tablets, or just to lend a caring ear. Our concerns are always addressed in a timely manner. Knowing that someone is always here for me is comforting. I have developed lasting friendships and appreciate that now more than ever because of the pandemic. There are so many activities and fun events. I love participating in the All Seniors Care Senior Games every year, my favourite event is ladies billiards. Currently we are virtually biking across the world and it is so much fun. Every day is a new adventure, and I'm loving it.

This is the first place you should look, if you love your parents! Denise and her team run an establishment where everyone is happy, safe and comfortable. I have worked in medical oxygen for years, and have been in so I'm many homes to care for my patients. There are many that leave a lot to be desired, but this is not one of those places. They facilitated every aspect of the move in as well as the move out once my mom's medical needs changed. The resident love the food, choices are all healthy, nutritious, with enough variation so that never get bored with what's being served. My mom was sad to have to leave her "retirement castle", as they care for as well as could, if not better. If you don't believe me, check it out for yourself! They made me feel as welcome as my mother, and will do the same for you. Thank you Denise, Lindsay, Jill, Anne, Deb and everyone else who made my mom as happy as I am!!!! You will not regret this choice.

With our Mom, her four daughters and myself - we want to give a heartfelt "shout out" to Raissa, her incredible staff and the residents of Preston Park 2. We have about a year and a half of experience with PP2 and could not be more delighted. These have been heart-wrenching months (almost 12 of them by now). The due diligence, due care and highly professional and facilitative staff of PP2 have inspired us. When you can't have usual access to those you love - you, by default, end up entrusting others to interact in ways you can't. For our part the amenities and physical features of a retirement residence like PP2 are altogether attractive but the atmosphere of care, the high attention to safety, the informal, personalized and programmatic initiatives (even in COVID and fragile times) have been outstanding. Maybe its just OUR MOM (we think not) but she is known, cared for, assisted where needed by both staff and other residents - this is a community, a community full of life and personality. These unique times have tested PP2 and in our considered view PP2 is THE place. My sisters use the word "grateful" when we talk about the choice our Mom made a year and a half ago. There is an old saying that you don't know the flavour of the tea bag until you've put it in hot water. All of us have had our own experiences of hot water this year. We just want to say - we are profoundly grateful for the flavour and quality of PP2.

I provided entertainment services for their Holly-Days event on December 6th. I had never been to PPII previously, and was sure impressed by the facilities. It was heartwarming to see how all the staff interacted with the residents. They were very caring and clearly new each resident on a personal level (not just as clientele). The residents sure seemed comfortable and at home as they participated in various activities and social interactions according to their own interests and schedule. Overall, I was impressed.

Recently, we had a family get together at Preston Park. The staff did an excellent job of preparing a room and supplying us with all the necessities and as always, did so cheerfully. My family was very impressed that the staff had gone to so much trouble to set everything up for us. It was the perfect venue for my mother. There was no need to brave the cold and ice and was an easy trip home when the party ended. The staff at Preston Park have been exemplary. Adie greets everyone with such joy and Anne has been so wonderful assisting with health concerns.. My mother often tells me how friendly the activities, serving and housekeeping staff are. Everyone always seems to have time for a quick greeting or to offer assistance. Thank you for all you do Raissa. It is very much appreciated.

As a recently hired piano entertainer in the foyer, the upbeat staff engage the residents, singing and dancing along while encouraging the use of fun percussion frogs and shakers, and making sure everyone is having a positive experience. The residents seem very happy to be there, listening and outwardly enjoying familiar golden oldies with friends!

We needed to move our mom back to Saskatoon after she lived for many years in another province. We visited several retirement homes and chose Preston Park II. Best decision ever!! After over a year living there, our mom is extremely involved, happy and healthy, and has made many new friends! We greatly appreciate that priority is given to residents' safety and social, emotional, and physical well-being. This priority is manifest in the manner in which residents (and their families) are treated, the care given to planning activities/experiences, outings, meals, special events, and the accommodations allowed to individual living spaces. Thanks to the many and varied daily activities (exercises - physical and cognitive/dance/games/entertainment) and seasonal events (Seniors' Games, Spirit Week), our mom is engaged, is getting stronger every day, and interacts continuously with others and the community at large. She has been recognized for her participation and contributions which has added to her happiness and made her feel relevant. We, as a family, have been grateful for the support received when mom experienced some serious health issues. Our involvement as family is welcome and encouraged, and any concerns we have had have been dealt with collaboratively and in a timely manner. Kudos and many thanks to the administration and staff for their interest in and respect for the elderly in their care and, by extension, us. N.B. Extended family across the country like the Facebook postings (especially the dancing). Effective way to keep everyone in the loop.
