Transitioning my mother- in- law from her home of 25 years to assisted living went so much more smoothly than I could have imagined! The staff have gone out of their way to make sure she felt welcomed and safe. She absolutely loves not have to meal plan and prepare meals. I just fill out my ticket and get what I want to eat Pam and the nursing staff have been a real blessing to our family! And have worked so well with us to meet her needs.

The staff at Edgewood Vista have been amazing. My mom and stepdad have been in memory care there for some time, and my mom had to be hospitalized for an extended period. Elaine, Raven, and all the staff went above and beyond to help my stepdad visit my mom, and make this difficult separation manageable. Both my mom and my stepdad have expressed how much they like living at Edgewood…that says it all.

Making the transition from independent living to assisted living memory care for my parents was a long and involved process for our family. The staff at Edgewood Vista helped to take a lot of the stress out of making the transition. My mother moved to Edgewood Vista first. The staff was so welcoming, the facility is clean and well managed, and a homey atmosphere permeates the entire place. The staff’s caring approach helped my mother to adjust to her new surroundings quickly. My stepfather was very independent minded, and resistant to moving to a facility, which he desperately needed. The staff at Edgewood created a space for my mother and stepfather to live together, and after finally making the move my stepfather feels very comfortable and at home. Edgewood has really done a great job in creating a comfortable, calming and home like environment for my parents to be together. My parents have both told me how much they like living at Edgewood, which is what prompted me to post a reviewnot something I normally do.

Edgewood has made the transition to Assisted Living very welcoming for my mother-in-law. It’s a beautiful facility with friendly, caring staff. They offer a variety of activities and the convenience of in-house medical care.

I could not ask for a finer facility or better people to take care of my father. The administration, nurses, nurse aides and receptionists are the most wonderful and caring people. They treat us like family. The kitchen staff and servers take pride in serving good meals to the residents. They do their best to accommodate each resident and any need or request they have. The housekeepers keep the facility spotless and smelling great. If you have a family member in need of care, this is the place to be. Edgewood, Spearfish is a definite 5 star facility. Everyone strives to do their best for their residents every day.

My husband and I have lived at Spearfish Edgewood Vista for over a year. We feel like we are on vacation as some of the staff cook for us, clean our apartment and do our laundry. It can't get much better. The food is great and well balanced meals are always served by a friendly, clean staff. If people need help with their daily needs, this is a great place! Most of the residents are friendly and seem contented with the care they receive. Thanks staff!

Edgewood provided fantastic care to my grandparents! My grandma had dementia and was able to live with my grandpa in the assisted living part of the building until he passed away. She then transitioned to memory care and received the best care from staff who loved her. She took part in activities that stimulated her brain, had meals that nourished her body and made friends that she enjoyed spending time with. Our family could rest knowing that she was safe and all her needs were being met. Great place!

Moving my husband's grandmother to Edgewood was the best thing to happen. She was in the memory care unit, and they treated her and us like family! Sadly, it was right before covid. But they did everything they could to make it feel normal.

My great-grandma lived here, and she was so full of life up until her final days! She was always happy, and we never doubted that she was being cared for! The environment is always kept clean, and felt so welcoming to us when we would visit her! There are so many activities available for her to participate in, great meals, and EXCEPTIONAL staff! What is "Home" ? The place we feel most comfortable, loved, and protected ” where we most feel at home. Coming into Edgewood is coming home. There is always laughter you can hear through the halls. My family was fortunate to discover the Memory Care unit at Edgewood Spearfish for our dear friend Maria. The staff provided exemplary care for her. She was treated with dignity and warmth with their personal interaction and cares. Their dementia trained staff and Life Enrichment program kept her mentally and physically stimulated, she was always happy. We also enjoyed receiving periodic photos of her daily activities that kept us close. Maria was strong in her faith and we are grateful to the understanding staff that ensured she could continue to participate in her religious services in their Chapel. We feel Maria was truly content to be a resident of Edgewood Spearfish during her final journey. Blessings to the staff that touched our lives.

My mother was a fiercely independent 97-year-old when a minor health issue forced us to start thinking about assisted living. One visit to Edgewood Vista in Spearfish was all it took for mom to decide on her new HOME! The attention to detail at Edgewood was fabulousthe meals, the cleanliness, personal attention, monitoring healthall made it a wonderful experience for mom, our family and friends. The staff loved mom and she loved them back. When she had special days when visitors couldn’t be with her (COVID, etc.), Edgewood went above and beyond and made sure video chats or even ZOOM calls were available. When mom developed some health challenges, Edgewood took great care of her. She lived there almost six years and passed away not long ago at age 103! . Edgewood truly did add years to her lifebut, more importantly they added life to her years! We are forever thankful that they were there when when needed them.

Our Mom moved into Edgewood in 2018. She immediately became involved in the exercise class, bingo, crafts, crochet group, and was soon named resident of the month. We called Edgewood the Resort. They cooked and cleaned while we enjoyed life!

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Edgewood facility and caregivers for their efficient and heartfelt care of mom when she needed a safe and caring place to live. She was able to make her attractive and comfortable apartment her home and made many friends through the variety of available activities. Mom has passed now, but I will always be grateful for the care and caring that Edgewood provided.

My brothers and I are so thankful that our mother is living at Edgewood Vista Spearfish. The staff members in all departments have made sure that she has everything she needs. It is a beautiful clean facility. The food is delicious. There is a chapel, beauty salon, and movie theater on site. The medical provider, Jenny Karp, and the nursing staff are top notch. We moved our mother into Edgewood on August 1st, 2024. It was the best choice we could have made for her. The staff and caregivers have been great, from answering any and all questions, being flexible with any changes and getting used to living in assisted living, too greetings my mom and I constantly by her and my name. My mom enjoys all the activities that they provide for the residents to participate in and the meals are great. I've been so impressed with every detail. It is so reassuring to know that my mom is being taken care of physically and mentally 24 hours a day. It's been years since I've had peace concerning my mother's care. I would recommend Edgewood to anyone looking for the best place to care for your family.
