We moved to Lakes at Litchfield about five months ago and have never looked back. A big cross-country move for us, but it is everything we hoped for and more. We love the variety of activities, exercises and social events offered, both on and off campus. Southern hospitality is alive and well among staff and residents alike -- everyone has been incredibly gracious, warm and welcoming. We feel very much at home!

Several years ago, we discovered that my wife was suffering from dementia. She was functioning reasonably well at the time and we decided to wait one year before entering a Continuing Care Community. Fortunately, we had one quite nearby which had been recommended by some of our trusted friends: The Lakes at Litchfield, wasn't just a place; it was a revelation, a place where we could envision not just living but thriving. Here's why: Dining Experience: The dining at The Lakes at Litchfield is excellent and continually strives for improvement. Unlike many other CCRCs it feels like dining in a restaurant rather than a retirement community. The chefs take great pride in their work, offering a diverse menu that caters to a wide array of dietary needs and preferences. Whether it's a casual lunch in the Pub or a dinner in the Charleston Dining Room, the quality of the ingredients and the attention to detail in the preparation and presentation are exceptional. It's a beautiful time for us to connect with our neighbors, share stories, and enjoy the vibrant social atmosphere that the dining room offers. Maintenance-Free Living: One of the greatest reliefs of moving to The Lakes at Litchfield has been the maintenance-free living. The grounds are well kept, including a lovely courtyard and outdoor recreation area. Inside, every aspect of maintenance is taken care of promptly and efficiently, from the smallest repair to regular upkeep. Skilled Nursing and Care: Perhaps the most comforting aspect of The Lakes at Litchfield is the skilled nursing and care available on-site. When I was no longer able to provide adequate care for my wife, I was more than pleased with the care she received from their skilled nursing facility. The staff is not only highly skilled but also genuinely compassionate, treating every resident with dignity and respect. Conclusion: The Lakes at Litchfield has not only met our expectations but has exceeded them in every way. After my wife passed, I was immediately welcomed into social activities where I made even more friends to alleviate my loneliness. It's more than just a place to live; it's a community that cares, thrives, and enriches the lives of its residents. There is no question in my mind that I made the correct decision at the correct time of life.

Geoff and I had a very detailed experience of checking into this ccr-c. Jamie was very helpful in showing us the areas and answering our questions. The cottages are new looking and well kept. The food is nice and chocolate chip cookies were super! The salt water indoor pool is a bit small but useful. Employees were very friendly as well as the residents. Chip helped us with many ideas! One suggestion is to put more light in the asst. care and memory care areas . This is a Godly ccr-c and Tim prays over all people which sure says alot! They care and are like family. Thank you! Job well done!

The people at the Lakes have welcomed my mom with open arms! They went above & beyond to get her a bed even working during their personal time with family to make sure she was all set! Ashley is an absolutely wonderful and charming support for the residents and I'm forever grateful for her support. Oh, and did I mention the welcoming committee? Nikki, who works in dietary, delivered a fresh Parlor donut in case she needed a pick-me-up after her long awaited transport. A-mazing!! The food is delicious as well! Mom described the meal pictured as "exquisite!" And she's not easy to please. #ilovethelakes

Both my parents reside in a cottage at the Lakes at Litchfield. They have been there since August of 2020. They both have physical and mental challenges which keeps me on my toes. We do use private caregivers and the Lakes management has been very supportive with our family's decision. As many know, navigating through this stage of life with ones parents is not easy. My prior experience with a well known community in Richmond VA turned into a nightmare after my parents contracted Covid. That is why they reside at the Lakes-through every hurdle and bump in the road, staff and management have been supportive, open to suggestions and critique-all with the goal to provide the best environment possible for multiple levels of care for the residents and the family members. I visited and researched the options and have never regretted my decision. The community is quiet, lots of activities for all levels of care, beautiful surroundings and very good food with ample options.

I had the opportunity to visit The Lakes at Litchfield this morning and left there very impressed. The community is beautiful, well maintained and very clean. Equally important is the atmosphere. I was greeted by every staff member that I passed, and with a smile! The residents and members all appeared well cared for and happy. The lunch menu offered a variety of great selections and the food was served hot and was delicious.

My father was in really bad shape and needed assisted living and a lot of rehabilitation after 6 weeks in the hospital. The team at Lakes of Litchfield was super responsive when we called, from evaluating his needs prior to discharge form the hospital to finding a room for him and helping put the paperwork in place in just a few days (including over the weekend). He went from being unable to sit up on his own when he arrived to walking without assistance in a matter a weeks. We cannot say enough positive about the compassion, level of care and support that he had from Ashley, the nursing staff, the physical therapy team and all the support staff. We highly recommend Lakes at Litchfield. We were able to bring my father home to live with us, but we would not hesitate to go back to Lakes if we needed assisted living care and support again in the future.

It has come to the point in our life where our parents are needing more assistance with their daily life. We searched many of the communities, including the Lakes at litchfield, and settled here. They move in in about 10 days. I have been so pleased with the attention we have gotten through the process of picking their perfect new home. Jamie is amazing! Her attention to detail and care and concern are absolutely top-notch. I live out of town and knowing that my parents will be taken care of is so reassuring to me. I will finally stop worrying about them when they get settled into their new home! I could not ask more of anyone! Thank you Lakes at Litchfield!

Ashley and her team at the Lakes were amazing. They helped my move my dad from rehab to assisted living at the lakes while I was in NY. They were available to support both me and my dad and we navigated this new territory. They quickly helped us move him closer to me in NY and worked seemlessly with the ALR in NY. I can't thank them enough. You are in good hand at the Lakes!

I would like to take this opportunity to recognize Ashley Evan's Commitment to Excellence. My wife and I felt that she went above and beyond in assisting us in getting my sister out of Arbor Landing. We were trying to take a quick vacation to visit Army friends but the timing was tight and after Arbor Landing "missed a date" we had to cancel, Ashley offered to pick her up and bring her to the Lakes. Thank you for having a professional staff and we have been impressed with the friendliness of all we have dealt with these past couple of days. Looking forward to a successful stay for my sister.

First the good part- the residents are great. The bad - this is a for profit facility so they skimp on any repairs, the houses are 20 plus yrs old and no remodeling is done, they say they remodel when are resident leave, but it is cheap repairs. Getting repairs done on water heater, ac units, bathroom fan is joke- no money for parts etc etc. Turn over for help is high.

Denise Gaines, move in coordinator at Lakes of Litchfield, has been so friendly and welcoming to my mother. She has made this move so easy, has been enthusiastic about showing the villa multiple times. The many daughters concerned about the move and with many questions has not overwhelmed Denise. She always has a smile and is eager to chat. Plus she has the coolest glasses!

Lovely community with warm caring staff that show a love for their work which is their "mission". I reviewed 5 retirement facilities along the Grand Strand and we chose this one for my mother this month. Pawleys Island is a family vacation spot and holds many fond memories. While on vacation from New Jersey in Pawleys Island I fell and broke my hip. Thank you to the wonderful staff in skilled nursing dept. the nurses, aids, physical therapy department, kitchen staff ( special thanks to Kim). Maintenance and all the people who helped me recover. You made me feel at home and my care during my recovery was amazing. Special thanks to Jackie Reynolds for bringing Willow to visit. Navigating elder care can be challenging and emotionally charged especially when a change and/or elevation of care is necessary. Two people affiliated with the Lakes at Litchfield have gone above and beyond to offer exceptional care, kindness and compassion. Brenda Mace, Client Services Manager of Live Long Well Care, makes certain that her team provides excellent and consistent care. She has also connected with my father on a personal level putting his (and my ) mind at ease. With her overseeing that aspect of his care I am confident that his needs are met. Ashley Evans, lifestyle advisor, smoothed the way for us from Independent Living to Assisted Living. Without her help and personal attention to detail this would have been a much more difficult transition. The warmth and commitment that these two individuals bring to their jobs is commendable and the Lakes is incredibly lucky to have them as team members.
