Reviews Bridge Assisted Living at Charleston
July 2024
There are no words to express my appreciation for The Bridge. My mom was there for 8 months and the entire staff felt like family. They cared for her with sincere love and concern. They were also supportive of me when I was concerned about my mom. I could no longer care for her at home and I could not think of a better alternative than The Bridge. Many of the staff have worked there for many years which speaks well for the administration and overall environment at The Bridge.

The staff welcomed my family member warmly and did their best to make her feel at home. We had 24 hr surveillance cameras up and so we saw how they attended to and interacted with her. They did what they said they would do. Communication with the staff was very easy and they responded promptly and acted when they needed to. We never felt like we were bothering anyone with our questions or requests. They also treated us well. The other residents were kind and polite. We are from out of the state so having trusted staff was key.

WONDERFUL facility! My mom was treated with such kindness and respect while she lived at The Bridge. I visited her several times a week and at different times of the day, and I can honestly say I NEVER EVER saw a resident in distress there. The staff were ALWAYS polite and helpful, from administration, to resident assistants, maintenance, housekeepers and dining personnel. Everyone!!! The residents' needs are taken care of in a timely manner. The residents I have talked to say they love the staff, the yummy food and are happy! I know my mom was and that was amazing (and such a relief) knowing she was happy and felt at home after moving into assisted living! It was like one big extended family, and I am so grateful to the Bridge staff for all of their love and care for my sweet mom!

My mother has been a resident of the Bridge of Charleston for two years. I am very pleased and thankful for the care she has received. The caregivers treat her as if she was their mother. They has always been kind and gentle. I could not have asked for better care. I have seen her mental and physical health improve since she was been a resident my mother is 95 and I believe her exceptional care at The Bridge has been the main reason for her longevity.

The administration and personal care staff are all very professional, helpful and show compassion and understanding to both the residents and family. The daily routines and scheduled activities are perfect for assisted living care and needs of the residents. The facility is well kept and the food is restaurant quality. The outside areas are very well kept and great for socialization for the residents and visiting family members. Being the Director of Senior Services for 25 years in SC, I highly recommend The Bridge of Charleston for Assisted Living Care needs in our area.

We are forever grateful to the selfless staff of The Bridge at Charleston. Kate Daugherty and her team do outstanding work not only regarding the care of their residents, but the daily tasks. Prompt and useful communication with family members, correct and understandable billing, delicious hot/cold meal varieties, clean and functioning facility, safe and secure entry and accountability, as well as endless activities from AM to PM/7 days a week. When we first came to The Bridge, my mother was under 100 lbs, refusing to eat, depressed and enduring self-inflicted isolation. Through the agency a Place for Mom, I was introduced and toured The Bridge. After seeing the rooms, dining, laundry, whirlpool bath!, salon, nurse's stations, lovely patios, and event calendar, I immediately knew this was the place. During my mother's stay, she was assisted in every way a person can be, with respect, with warmth and always with a smile. If not for a family move, she would still be there. As a child, who lives out of state, I took great comfort in knowing that the kind members of The Bridge at Charleston were working hard to ensure my mother's safety, welfare and happiness. Additionally, I would like to add that the staff and facility strived to remain on top of Covid prevention and containment. Kate and her team made sure to get out the most recent news and maintain staffing levels during that constantly changing and complicated time. I applaud them for their tireless efforts then and now.

We found the Bridge at Charleston for my parents as it was highly recommended by several close friends of the family. I felt very comfortable from the first minute that I met Kate, the Director. The staff was so amazing, from the care for my parents, to the activities and the excellent food. I was at comfort knowing that my parents were in such a great place and well taken care of. Thank you to the entire team at The Bridge!!!

I cannot express just how thankful I am for the care, kindness, and love that was shown to my dad while he was at The Bridge. Unfortunately, my dad passed away this past October. Kate came to his memorial service. My dad and Kate had a special relationship. She knew how to get to the man inside through his tough outer shell, and she always made him laugh. She will always have a special place in my heart. My dad also had a fondness for Juan who helped him out on several occasions with his tablet issues, among other things. The head nurse, Que, was also special. She was prompt in getting back to me with any questions I had and was a pleasure to work with. (And because another review brought this up, yes, sometimes it takes a few days for a work order to get done. It happens everywhere. That, in no way, takes away from the amazing care and staff found at The Bridge.) Tears flow as I write this review. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Kate, Juan, Que, and the amazing staff members.

April 2023
I fully recommend this facility! The administration team is just that... a TEAM. This can be seen with how happy the residents are when you walk through the front door. I personally know two of them and both are extremely happy! Reid and Juan go over and beyond to help families have an easy transition during a stressful time!

Thank you for taking my dad when I could no longer keep him at my home. His dementia and weakness required someone nearby at all times to watch over him. Thank you staff and Kate for all that you did.

I am a vendor to this community and just wanted to give a strong endorsement to one of the best care teams in the lowcountry. This community has incredible leadership that goes above and beyond for it's residents and families. I would recommend the Bridge to anyone looking for a senior living facility for their loved one!

My mom was here from April until October--she had a leg amputated in Feb. and then to rehab then here. She really wanted to try living at home (with us) so we just moved her home. The care at The Bridge has been exceptional and they care about each person. No place is ever going to please everyone but the aides (who do most of the care work) are really exceptional and treat them with respect. Courtney and Felicia are 2 of the most loving and caring but I never heard anyone talk ugly to any resident and I was there everyday from April until October! When mom needs to go back we will certainly pick this one to go back to!! Administrator Kate, Reid, Missy, Nichole and nurse Donna and Mary--could not be more supportive of residents or their staff!

If you are looking for a wonderful family atmosphere this is the place! Moved my mother in law in about 6 months ago and she loved it! The staff is wonderful from the nurses, activities, bus driver, food staff, maintenance and all the wonderful support staff! She so loved doing the activities and loved the bus trips! Everyone is very kind and caring. She made lots of friends with many of the wonderful residents. Thanks to all for taking such good care of my mother in law!

I decided on The Bridge at Charleston for my mother when she needed assisted living (shes 90). Shes been there almost a year now, and Im still very pleased with it. The facility is clean and homey. The staff are all very pleasant and caring. Ive eaten lunch with my mom several times over the months; I can attest that the food is good, which is always a plus! They have many activities planned that the residents can participate in such as bingo and music events so people dont get bored. Some of the other facilities I visited didnt give me a good feeling or didnt have as many activities.

My parents love this place. So thankful we found it for them.
November 2015
The place is beautiful. The staff is so nice and really care about their residents and there needs. There are so many enjoyable activities such as music, crafts, outside activities. The minute you walk in, you want to sit down and get comfortable, like walking into a nice home. The gardens are beautiful and love the front patio with the rocking chairs and ceiling fans that make it a nice place to fellowship and enjoy the day. They serve nice meals with pretty table cloths and nice centerpieces pn each table. I know that it makes the residents happy as they get to know their neighbors and make lots of new friends . It does my heart good to see the care that goes into this place.

The Bridge at Charleston has had a transition in their leadership team including sales director, registered nurse, and executive director. The team has a combined 35 years or more of Senior Housing experience and their expertise shows in the transformation of the community. The caregivers are compassionate and kind, the food presentation and overall dining service experience is very well received from the residents, and the community even through COVID-19 restrictions has never felt more vibrant. I highly recommend that you come see the new and improved Bridge at Charleston, located in North Charleston. SC.
