Senior helpers was a very good company to deal with, but as of late it has been a total nightmare. I never get a call until after the person is supposed to show up and doesn’t ; which then throws a wrench in my plans. I have had a stream of people coming through my house. If they get coverage for that day, how can I leave when the person doesn’t know what to do. They ask my husband; do you want to get up, do you want to eat, if the answer is no they just leave him there and sit on their phones all day. I have has some very good people too, but they leave the company so I am back to square one. I am very frustrated. Not being able to speak to a live person is another big problem. I don’t want to speak to a computer. Getting advice from the VA about my options.

Everyone is extremely caring and genuinely concerned for their customers whether you're the one hiring or the person who is getting the care… Deven is my mother's "helper" and she's the best!! She is not just a helper she is part of the family now and my mom loves her!! She always has my mother's back no matter what the situation is. Shes loves taking care and being there for my mother too so we cannot say enough about her! Julie who is in charge is also a super person. She's always concerned if everything is going well and checks in with me as to my mom's status. Everyone that I have ever dealt with at Senior Helpers has been great! We were so fortunate to find a care giver, Yvonne, who would spend several hours a week with him. /she provides interesting activities and takes him on walks in his transport chair. Julie stepped in and personally supervised my in-house care.

Our caregiver, Kimberly, has gone above and beyond taking care of my father. My father lives with my family of five. We have middle school/ high school children in our home and both my husband and I work full time. We needed a caregiver that could understand the family dynamic along with taking time with my father who has Parkinson's. Kimberly has done this and more. She is kind and careful with my dad who needs constant encouragement to work through his mental blocks due to Parkinson's. She is also thoughtful with his meals and spends time doing things with him like crafts, reading, reminding him to do speech exercises, etc. When dad was in the hospital she sat with him there and really helped him through this stay. She is always on time which is huge because we work and have to be on time too. We are able to take care of dad at home because of Kimberly.

From the office staff, who is always in touch, friendly, and helpful getting fill-in caregivers, when needed, to our fabulous caregiver, Becky Sloop, they are all wonderful!! . Becky Sloop not only takes care of household chores, prepares food, helps with personal hygiene, walks with mom, and makes sure all of household supplies and meds are keep filled, she is a thoughtful, caring, loving friend. Many times she thinks of things to make my moms day better before my mom thinks of it:). Even when Becky is out of town, she checks in on my mom with a phone call, which always perks my mom up! I honestly can not say enough good things about Becky- I am very grateful! I would highly recommend Senior Helpers.
