Our mother spent almost a month in the rehab section of Franke at Seaside and received excellent care! Franke has a team approach to treatment and addressed all of her issues, making progress with several health concerns she's had for years. We were impressed with everyone we met: the doctors, nurses, PTs, OTs, aides, social worker, and dining service. The team met as a group to map out her treatment plan, monitor progress, and determine when she went home, as well as her future needs. Our mother is feeling better and is more hopeful. This is what healthcare should be and we are grateful!

I have been in health care in the Charleston area for many years and I would have a family member live at Franke. The atmosphere at Franke really feels like family.

Worked here and felt it was a waste of my time. Some of the co-workers were rude and of course it was okay with the head nurse cause she was there friend more then anything. I've got pushed to my limit and had to leave this place. I've seen residents here being mistreated. Sitting in wet diapers a lot and not be properly dressed or groomed for the next shift. The only time i've seen staff here really take care of the residents is when they knew the family was coming in to visit.

My mother was a resident for almost 5 years, until her death, in the skilled nursing unit at Franke. I was continually dismayed and shattered by the standard of care. A few examples of the "care" she received: during her first several months there she fell and suffered a neck fracture, I found that her pain patch (that was supposed to be changed weekly) had not been changed for 10 days, more than once I found her lying or sitting in a brief that was saturated with urine and feces -this was followed by skin break down. These are just a few examples. The turnover in staff was dizzying to me. It seemed that most of the really good and caring nurses and aides left within months. There were exceptions to this.There were some very dedicated and excellent staff-but they were few. In my opinion, the problems stemmed with those in charge and trickled down. I met with and communicated with administrators, head nurses, etc on an ongoing basis- but did not see significant constructive changes.

This is a great engaged community offering many unique programs for older adults. I love that they just added a contained doggie park.

Waited two days to receive my pay check ..they kept giving me the run around about when the checks were in and the checks were there the whole time ..smh ...why ?
