Alison Graves and the activities she planned for the residents are her best memory and what she misses the most. The devotions, fun activities, field trips, and outside guests that came to entertain were always so good. Her most loved was the puzzle table Alison keeps set up in the activity room. You could always find mama there!

My parents moved into Lancaster Grove (then Morningside) in May 2016. Mama died in December 2016, and Daddy remained through his death in September 2026. Over the years many changes occurred with the name, corporate structure, management, and personnel, but the best change was the addition of Alison Graves to the staff. Alison truly cares for every resident, and they all love her. She was Daddy’s favorite. Alison’s leadership of the resident experience program took it to new heights. Alison keeps the residents busy with all kinds of activities, and her wish fulfillment program allows residents to pick something special they’d like to do and see it come to fruition. I’ve seen the joy on residents’ faces when that special wish comes true. I still visit Lancaster Grove, and every time I’m there I feel Alison’s energy and see how it translates to the residents.

When my mother moved into the Grove 98 years young, she began to thrive again. The resident experience program that Alison Graves designed and led was exceptional. From morning devotions and chair exercises to evening bingo and concerts, the program was designed to engage the residents in as much social stimulation as each wanted to participate in. Mom enjoyed planting flowers in the raised bed in the center of the courtyard almost as much as she enjoyed FaceTiming with her great grandchildren. Alison became like a sister to me and my family during the year and four months Mom lived there. We will always remember her as a major source of joy in Mom’s life and how she took such care in helping walk Mom home.

This facility is awesome, my Father was recently facilitated there and he is doing well. The staff is very professional and helpful. Mrs. Trevonda Hemphill even assembled my Dads bed due to Covid restrictions. Ms. Sisk, along with the other employees that I met were very nice and helpful with my Dads transistion to his new home. I live out of town and the staff made it easy for me to fill out all the necessary documents required for my Dad's admission. Make this destination a home for any of your family members who are in need, you will not regret it!

My Mother has been here a little over a week. Of course it is never easy to make this decision. But i must say the staff and all involved have made the transition so easy. She was very apprehensive at first but she tells me everyday how much she loves it. The administrator, Trevonda and her assistant Emily are so good at what they do and will answer any questions you may have. I would recommend this facility to anyone. It is so good to have piece of mind knowing your Mom is being so well taken care of!!!

Living in a different state than SC, it is a scary situation when you are looking for an Assisted Living Facility for your loved one. In my case it was for my 94 year old mother. My sisters and I have been very satisfied with the facility and the staff. While my mother was on the Assisted Living "side" of the facility they had many activities offered , beautiful dining room, delicious food and spacious rooms. That being said, it was nice that they also have a Memory Care area that gives your loved ones closer attention when you need it. In both areas, all members of the staff are very courteous, friendly and helpful. The administrator, Trevonda, is also always willing to talk to you should you have any concerns or questions. I would recommend this facility.

My husband, Paul, has recently been a resident at Morningstar of Lancaster. After 2 hospitalizations and 2 rehab facilities, we began searching for an Assisted Living facility. I spent 3 weeks looking for the perfect facility. I walked in to the front door of Morningstar and knew tnis was different. The dining room looked like a country club! Then I saw the apartments. They are huge, freshly painted, huge walk in closets and very comfortable. But all of those physical amenities were minimal after I met the staff. I found the perfect combination of compassion, professionalism, attention to detail, kindness and ability to have eyes everywhere and not miss a beat. After 46 years of working as an RN, I felt that we had found the perfect place. The director, Trevonda Hemphill, runs a tight ship. But she is not afraid to roll up her sleeves and join the staff. There are many, many activites and field trips to be enjoyed. I would recommend Morningstar of Lancaster to anyone looking for a comfortable, safe, professional environment for their loved one.

Our father became a resident just after the New Year. He was ready to become a resident and the Executive Director and Office Manager moved mountains to quickly get a room and paperwork ready for the big transition from a large apartment, the hospital and finally to a very pretty room on short notice. One is instantly "at home" at Morningside with a professional yet caring staff who truly care about the residents and their families. Each area of Morningside is filled with beautiful interior design, stunning grassy green courtyards, very nice landscaping, and a variety of group activities. Every visitor has an opportunity to be greeted by a kind and welcoming staff who always work hard to make a both the residents and their visitors feel that it is their home. Everyone seems to put their best foot forward in every aspect of residential living without any worries at all. When anything out of the ordinary should occur, it is handled efficiently, properly and communicated to the family. Our family is most pleased with our father's new home.

This is a beautiful place for a loved one. I had just lost my Mom and wanted a place in Lancaster for my Dad. I had researched a lot of assisted living homes from Charlotte to Charleston. This one stood out. I spoke to Trevonda Hemphill the Executive Director on the phone and was thrilled with not only her professionalism but also her compassion. I went the next day for a tour and knew this was the place. The residents were happy and interacting with each other and the staff. The food is homemade and that was a big deal for my Dad. He has been there one week tomorrow, so far so good!

My Mother is in her 5th year at Morningside of Lancaster. I truly do not believe that she would have made it this far (she is 95) if she had not had the help and supervision provided by Morningside. She has made many new friends and loves to participate in the activities planned by Mica. I know that I can call anytime, day or night, to check on Mom or get advice on how to deal with any issues concerning Mom that I don't know how to deal with... I still work full time and know that while I am working there are many people watching over Mom. Kudos Morningside.

My 87 year old grandmother with dementia just started her journey here but, so far it has been a tremendous blessing to our family. This is place is full of love. Trevonda and Emily are the most kindhearted people to talk to. They truly understand your situation and care about your concerns. They made this difficult decision a lot easier because of their knowledge and compassion. From the first night when I cried about leaving my grandma and one of the med pass nurses (Helen A) gave me a hug and told me it would be okay. All of the staff here has been great and really feel like extended family. I feel at peace about the future because of this wonderful place.

Morningside of Lancaster, is a facility where you would want your loved one to be. When you walk-in the facility, you feel welcome and not wanting to leave. I attend Morningside on every Friday to visit with the residents and each time I come, the facility is clean, and well maintained. The Executive Director, TreVonda Hemphill and her staff is absolutely amazing. I can come in and volunteer with the residents and feel right at home. The food is delicious. I look forward to visiting the residents every Friday! The residents make my day, when I see them smile and so happy to be apart of the activities that have been planned. I have had the extreme pleasure of going and spending time with the residents of this location in a professional aspect. I have observed that the staff is extremely courteous to the residents and they make sure they're well taken care of. While at the location I seen that the living conditions were very clean and neat at all times. I also noticed that the residents had plenty of activities available to them. The Police Department I work for had the opportunity of having lunch with the residents on several occasions and I found the food to be very well prepared. I will finish by saying, this is a well managed and maintained living facility that I would highly recommend to anyone.

My dad has been at Morningside Lancaster since October 2016, and loved it from the start! He’s 99 years young, retired Army officer and tells everyone that he’s stayed in some of the finest hotels around the world and would put this place right with them. He brags to all of his friends about the meals, how good they are. I try and get him to go and eat out sometimes, and he’ll say no, going to have something good here. We went to my sisters in Camden, for Easter lunch, on the way to Camden, he tells me, you’re going to have me back before dinner, right. I love eating at Morningside, especially on Sundays, the chefs really show out. I tell my family and dad’s friends it’s the best meal in town. The management and staff are exceptional, not just say this, they are! The place has rules, and that’s a good thing. When dad has any kind of problem they handle it, and if I need to know about it they tell me. The therapist there are keeping dad moving and working him so he can continue to be a resident. I am more than happy that my father is able to stay at Morningside Lancaster, it keeps him smiling and when he’s smiling me and my siblings are smiling.

My parents have been residents for almost a year. When they moved to Morningside my father commented that he never thought he would be able to live somewhere like that in his golden years. It is well kept, warm and welcoming. I always love visiting on nice sunny days and seeing the residents sitting on the front porch in the relaxing furniture. The apartments are spacious. My father lives for each meal time. I eat lunch with them once a week and the food is wonderful. My mom really enjoys making crafts and the other activities, as well as interacting with the other ladies that live at Morningside. The staff are so warm and friendly to my parents. I can tell they love what they do and it gives me great peace to know my parents are loved and looked after by the staff. The staff also keeps me well informed on my parent's needs too. We've established a great partnership to ensure my parent's are loving this time of their lives!
