My sister and her beloved cat, Zoe, recently moved into this place and we are thrilled! The rooms are very large and extremely clean and well maintained. Staff has been wonderful and the physical therapy department is great. They have been very responsive to everything that we have asked about or needed. Food has been good and overall very enjoyable. She loves the Bingo and the activities and says she's very happy to be there. It's great to know that she is well cared for and able to enjoy this phase of her life. We searched all of the places in our area and this was definitely the best for our budget and our family member. We even got a balcony! Thank you so much Harbison Shores!

My mother moved into Harbison Shores eight months ago because she was not able to live alone any longer. She was graciously welcomed and has been given the attention and care she so needed. The office staff made the new resident process so smooth and hassle free. She has now been moved to the memory care wing and everyone has been so supportive through all of these changes. They have been so kind and attentive to her and make sure that she is getting everything she needs. My mother enjoys her new living arrangement and my family feels so secure now that she is living at Harbison Shores and getting such great care. The staff are fabulous and go above and beyond to care for the residents. I enjoy sitting in the lobby in the afternoons with my mother and chatting with everyone. My mother is so happy and it is a joy that she has the opportunity to be a resident of Harbison Shores.

Harbison Shores is a good location in the Columbia/Irmo area. Compared to other facilities I've been to, it's easy to enter and exit the property. The Staff are pleasant and focused on the residents to ensure comfort and safety. As well, the Staff do a good job at responding to my emails when concerns. I've had some challenges arise with my parents and the Staff has been there to help me navigate through while maintaining respect and kindness.

Our mother has been at Harbison Shores Memory Care for about a year, the staff is amazing and our mother just lights up and smiles when she sees them, they show her a lot of attention and they've taught my family a lot concerning Dementia, which is a new experience for us, the facility is very pretty and clean, they are very good about keeping us informed of our mother's health and/ or treatment, they have a lot of activities, church, Bible study, music, crafts, etc., would highly recommend

My friend of 42 years has been living at Harbison Shores. The staff there is professional, kind and compassionate. Compassionate being the word. She gets great care physically and emotionally. Cleanliness is obviously important. I treasure my time visiting my friend and getting to know and love other residents and their families. Her family feels blessed, as I do. HS has high standards and I am so very appreciative to them.

While it was a much shorter stay than we had hoped when we moved our grandma in, Harbison Shores was great caring for our grandma. Their facilities were clean, their staff was very professional and caring for their residents. We started in assisted living and while our grandma got sick quickly and ended up in hospice care, the staff were very loving and accommodating during her final days. From the admission process to moving in to caring for grandma daily, it was what was needed for our grandma to be comfortable in her final days. I highly recommend this facility for assisted living and memory care and know that if your loved one ever ends up on hospice care they can comfort and safely stay put in this facility.

My grandmother is staying here, nice place where we come see her once a week. The residents are well taken care of, unlike other nursing homes ive visited family at. Seniors are brought out of their rooms daily for entertainment, enrichment, and socialization which helps offset thing such as dementia. There is also usually someone going around doing some form of custodial work whether it be sweeping, mopping or doing the windows. I am very happy with the place we have entrusted with my grandmother

I absolutely love this community. The staff are amazing and are always so focused on making the everyday lives of the residents wonderful. Take a minute and look at their social media and you can see the happiness in each resident. All the life stations and activities keep the residents engaged throughout the day. The food is amazing. I highly recommend this assisted living and memory care.

Toured with Amy Humphries about a month ago and she was extraordinarily knowledgeable and professional about the needs for my mom. The place was clean. The staff were super nice so we decided to move her in. Best decision we have made. Mom is actually improving based on the environment that she’s in with her peers, the entertainment and the services that they provide. The staff is amazing and I can’t recommend this place for your loved one enough.

Everyone at Harbison Shores has been extremely helpful and friendly during the very stressful time of placing our loved one in a memory care facility. They helped us every step of the way and have kept us informed of how she is adjusting and any issues that have come up regarding her health. Very pleased with everything so far.

Excellent care staff! The residents are all cared for very well. Everyone is treated like family. Lovely secure courtyard for fresh air and sun. Many live music performances and other entertainment. My loved one has been here over a year now. Highly recommend.

Harbison Shores is a beautiful facility. The staff are caring, well trained, compassionate, and good cheer. The setting has the comforts of home and it is a place I like to visit and I always feel welcome. My Mom has dementia and lived with us for about a year when we decided that it was time for us to move her into an assisted living (memory care) facility. We looked at several and decided on Harbison Shores. Most individuals with dementia have a certain routine they are used to and when that routine is upset, it can be very difficult for them. So you can imagine how difficult it can be when you change their living arrangements. Elaine, Amy, Jessica, Ethal, and all of the care staff have been great helping us to transition her to her new home there. Their helpful advice made the transition easier than we expected. My Mom has made new friends, and she loves her care staff. Every time I visit, she introduces me to her best friends (both residents and staff). It took her about a month to fully transition, but now Harbison Shores is her home. She loves the food, her new friends , and daily activities. I can certainly tell that her care staff truly cares and takes good care of her. I highly recommend Harbison Shores.

I am a care manager and have a very difficult client at Harbison Shores. I have been working with Elaine, administrator, Ethel, director of patient care, Jessica and the nurse, Stephanie. They have gone out of their way to work with me with this difficult client. Elaine is extremely responsive and answers emails within minutes. Ethel is savvy and kind. Jessica has been generous with her time and in the organization of my client's belongings as the client is unable to do this. Stephanie, is new but my impressions are that she is knowledgeable and professional. As in most if not all, senior living communities, staffing has been a problem especially during Covid. But most of the staff tries very hard to attend to my client. I just wish there could be more staff, but their job is difficult and I suspect the pay does not match the difficult nature of their work. I am grateful for all the help I have been given with my client. I should add that the facility is undergoing renovations that are very pleasing.

Excellent assisted living facility. Help all very friendly, and food is very good. The only complaint I have ever heard from my Mother is "They gave me too much, and I could not eat it all." Prices are also very reasonable, and you can tell that the staff really care about your loved ones. If you want a good place with good care for your parents or grandparents, I would highly suggest you check out the Harbison Shores Senior Living Community!

My parents recently moved into assisted living in Harbison Shores. It was a perfect location to be near family and friends. The apartment they chose is very spacious and feels like home. The staff is very friendly and the administration is easy to reach and quick to respond to any questions or concerns. We appreciate this availability as this helps us all with this new stage in life.

The new management company is putting money back into the community and renovating the memory care. Erica the nurse is amazing and helps the families a lot . I'm glad they are an extension of my family. The community is smaller so all the staff knows the residents by name and Clayton the maintenance tech has worked there for ten years and he is soo helpful

Located in a vey well secured and Beautiful neighborhood in Irmo Harbison community in South Carolina and surrounded by major retail stores and health cares facilities .Schedule a visit if your plannibg on finding a home away from home for any of your seniors family member you will be amazed with the facilities and professional customer service that goes beyond and excced expectations.

The only reason I give this place 2 stars is because of the true love of some of the CNA's towards their wards. The company itself can go pack sand. I work odd shifts which meant that I visited at odd hours. I made friends with several of the staff and between some of the things I was told plus what I observed, one of my biggest regrets was that I didn't find my mother a place that cared about her more than her banking account. I've witnessed everything from messed up medications (multiple times...to the point where I would come in and 'spot check' mother's meds at the med tech station) to being understaffed. At that time the 'Dr.' that was used at the facility was actually a Dr. at the V.A. (This tells me 2 things 1) you're a part time Dr. for my mother and 2) you do not specialize in geriatric medicine) and his NP ran the show I think the implementation of the policy that if a resident has to go rehab, they have to go 'their' (ie; the company's rehab, your loved one have no choice - I am hoping that this has changed) shows that the company is more concerned about turning a huge profit (of course I expect a business to turn a profit, but come on, be reasonable). The front line troops were great and truly care for their clients. The company....well.....to be owned by a person who professes to be a Christian, it certainly does not reflect that value (correspondence sent to both the owner and the regional / district supervisor......never heard back) . It's all about the money. I'll leave with this example. My mother passed away on the night of the 23rd of a unnamed month. Anyone who has ever had a loved one waste away at a hospital knows that you practically live at the hospital for days. So after getting home at 3 the following morning, it was a whirlwind of activity as my wife and I arranged the funeral, contacted relatives (even going to parts of the state to pick up relatives who could not drive), had the funeral and because she was buried at a military cemetery, the graveside service could not be done until 2 days after her funeral. I will never forget as I was driving home finally feeling that I was going to be able to get out of emergency mode and crash out, when I get a call of from the director of the facility. I got the usual 'oh, we are so sorry' and 'I know you must be worn out' but then I got a bombshell on me....along the lines of...."if your mother's belongings are still in the apartment at the beginning of the month we are going to 'have to' charge her account for that month as well" (around ($5k). So, instead of going home and finally having a chance to process everything, I changed clothes and started cleaning out my mother's apartment. This kind of approach was indicative of all the upper mgmt. (Gals if you're reading this, just because somebody is wearing ear buds outside your office doesn't necessarily mean they are listening to anything on their phone). If you really want to see what a facility is like, forget the day time tour! Go around in the evening and just strike up a conversation with the staff and residents. If I had to do it all over again, I would've pulled my mother out before her health became too fragile. It is my firm hope that things have changed there since, but with this facility being part of 11 other facilities purchased at the same time, making the company one of the biggest owners of A/L in the SE, I have my concerns with a company that has grown so much, so fast can truly stay on top of things

Melissa Fanning is the best part of Carolina gardens she works hard and make sure that the residents are fully taken care of. She goes out of Her Way, Dan and day out! She's just not a marketing director she someone who cares and puts forth 100% of herself every day. Having Melissa part of the Carolina gardens team makes me feel at ease knowing the great residence of this community are being taken care of the right way
