Beautiful facility! The occupational and speech therapist does an amazing job. My mother room was amazing and was very accommodating for her as well as her visitors. EVERYONE on the staff was very polite and friendly. I would give this facility 5 stars if it wasn't for the communication. No one ever gave me an update on my mother's physical and speech therapy progress. I was never given a report on my mother's condition whatsoever. The only time I was notified ever was when it came to her discharge and payment and the discharge notification always was a 2-3 day notice. The social worker was very polite, professional and friendly but wasn't much help. I won't say her name because I don't want it to hinder or affect her anyway at her job plus I respect her despite what transpired. Again she only contacted me when it came to my mother's discharge. Never sat down with me to discuss my mother's transition until I requested it after she was discharged. This facility is amazing but the communication is very bad and they lack empathy

I've been working here almost three years now. I wish I'd found this place many years ago to work for. I love the fact that the start from Independent Living to full care. I love the care for the residents being first priority. The place is like no other nursing facility I've worked. Residents and workers are wonderful to meet and work for. So many great thing about this place. I can't say enough. Thanks BG for allowing me to share this experience.

I've worked at Bishop Gadsden for 4 years and for the first time in my life I can say that I dig my job. The staff is great and the residents are wonderful. Seeing as I spend the majority of my time there, its become my home away from home and BG has become my other family. I'm glad I stumbled into this place.

Potential new employer. They have been a staple of James Island since the mid 1800's. So for them to have been around that long and grown to have over 600 residents is amazing. Also they are a luxury retirement community with a firm foundation in the Episcopal faith. The reviews from employees both current and former are 90% positive which speaks to the fact that they consider each other family. Also several fine dining restaurants on site is pretty incredible.

Our college choir performed at Bishop Gadsden's Chapel in 2015, and we were so impressed with everything about Bishop Gadsden and its Chapel--the Steinway grand piano, gorgeous acoustics, but most of all the amazing people. Our audience was so smart and cultured, a really wonderful group of people who gave us a standing ovation. Thank you!

Bishop Gadsden has rats. And feral cats. And for all I know, bats. Bishop Gadsden fires its best workers and promotes people who let others do their work. They in turn hire their family and friends. As a Christian facility, Bishop Gadsden is lacking in that regard. Something is bad wrong at Bishop Gadsden and I hope it gets fixed before I need assisted living. It is a shame because it used to be a first class facility. I only hope those fired file a wrongful termination suit.

I love it here !!!! I have been employed at BG nearly 4 years and I must say it's gorgeous. It's a great place to work. Best job I've ever had, honestly. We take great care of our residents. The Bishop Gadsden Community appreciates their residents and employees ! The administrator is down to earth and funny ! He's not snobby at all !!!! The pay and benefits are awesome ! My DON (Director of Nursing) Jonna, is just as awesome as the adminstrator ! They have scholarship programs as well as funds to help residents and staff/employees during their time of need ! I love it !!!!!!

My father has been a resident since 2010, or there-abouts, ...since the death of my mother. The Bishop Gadsden Community is so welcoming, simply everything is a first class experience: The food in the restaurants, the caring staff, the follow-up medical support, the activities, from Happy Hour at Polly's Pub to political discussion groups to musical events. The art in the hallways, lovely! Jack Lillich is 94 and counting, he's happy, involved and well cared for.
