NHC HelathCare, Bluffton is a great center! Everyone is engaging and responsive to the care needs of the residents. Communication with the family is excellent as well. Therapy is provided and is state-of-the-art. The food is great and they offer a variety of options. Housekeeping is done daily. Activities are provided on an ongoing basis. I would absolutely recommend this facility to friends and family. NHC HealthCare, Bluffton is an excellent choice if you are in need of skilled nursing or rehab services.

My mom spent a year in this facility, ultimately ending in her death this August. She had COPD and complications that left her wheelchair bound. In the beginning she enjoyed the socialization and there were many kind people there. Some of the CNAs were rude and we had some trouble with call bells not being answered but things seemed to be addressed quickly. However after the COVID shut down things got horrible. She would be left without a call bell or her cell phone. Her mind deteriorated rapidly as her isolation grew. We wouldn't be able to get a hold of her for days at a time, and she told me she would cry because they were so mean to her. I worked in a resort that was teaming with Covid, so I couldn't bring her home. She was hospitalized twice for aspiration, twice she fought her way off of a vent and would thrive at the hospital only to deteriorate after going back to NHC. In the end I was able to quit my job, fight off Covid myself and bring her home for the last days of her life. When I was allowed in and was helping hospice to get her ready for home we saw yeast was growing under her arms and she had raw sores on her private area from lack of cleaning. It broke my heart to know she was being treated that way. I've filled a complaint NHC never to hear back and have take it up with the proper DHEC authorities. I would have given a one star but there were good people there too...especially the rehab side, the case workers and activities before Covid, so it wasn't completely horrible...just a nightmare in the end.

A very well run facility. Nursing care and physical therapy are excellent. There is also a recently opened assisted living section. Staff is very knowledgeable and friendly.

Released last Friday after two weeks of rehab after back surgery. Excellent care, great help, and delicious food!! I could not have had a better experience.
