The staff was attentive and caring and spent ample time with us. Several residents came up to us and told us what a great community it is and made my mom feel welcome and at peace with her difficult decision to leave her home and move to AL. The place is beautifully decorated for the holidays, spotless, and very tastefully furnished. Of all the AL's I have visited searching for a new home for my mom, this is by far the best.

Chapel Hill is absolutely incredible. The staff and facility are top notch. We had previous experience with a local assisted living facility which was not so positive. I recommend anyone with a need for a senior living facility to take a tour. The Sales Director, Christina, could not be nicer and more helpful. Highly recommend.

Chapel Hill is located in an amazing neighborhood with shopping and much more very close by. Met with Melissa Stock a couple of months ago, WOW what a passionate and caring person. My mother has only been there a short time but helped so much in the transition. It was short notice and a holiday, and despite a horrible experience with a case worker at landmark medical center...they had a room, and dinner waiting for her. The executive director Courtney Fisher has been extremely helpful.

While researching senior living options for my mother earlier this year, I met with Kris Petersen, sales counselor for the Brookdale Cumberland facility. She provided me with a facility tour and comprehensive review of services, and was very knowledgeable in answering all of my questions. During a subsequent tour with Mom and my siblings, she demonstrated the same thoroughness, and paid particular attention to my mother's comments and concerns. Although multiple apartments were available at the time, none of them quite seemed to fit. Over the next couple of months, Kris kept in touch as occupancy changes occurred, and one day called to say that an apartment addressing all of my mother's concerns was available. After viewing the apartment, Mom concurred and placed a deposit on it that very day. Throughout this life-altering process, Kris never applied any overt sales pressure or attempted to talk Mom into something she wasn't comfortable with. Her professionalism and demeanor were exactly appropriate. Mom has been a resident for several months now, and is very pleased with her new apartment and the entire facility and staff. Although Kris's primary sales function has been fulfilled, she continues to demonstrate her caring nature by following up with Mom and other residents to ensure that all of their needs continue to be met. Thank you!

I am living in Brookdale Cumberland without problems. It's a very nice place in a large home. It's a retirement, assisted, and health center. I have a two-room apartment with all the facilities I wanted. The staff is fine. We have the housemaid, maintenance, waitresses, and cooking crew. I don't have any complaints about the food. We get three meals a day and have various activities. At least three times a week, they have an individual or a group come in to sing or dance, and once a while they take you to a local point of interest. I chose this place because it's one mile from our home, and I know the area very well.

We were highly impressed with Kris, who was extremely helpful in answering all our questions and concerns. She is very knowledgeable, kind, and caring, and has the greatest personality!!! I found Brookdale Cumberland (Emerald Bay Retirement Living) for my mom. It’s convenient for me and close to home. Everybody is very conscientious; the staff is very caring, very nice, very polite, and very professional. To me, everything seems to be run well over there. Even the house cleaning is very nice. I’ve eaten there a couple of times; the food was very good. They go out for lunch; they have bingo, movies, and music during the day. They do arts and crafts. They have guest speakers coming in. A couple of weeks ago, they had a llama visit them. They have their own pool, and it’s private for just the residents. It’s a beautiful place.

It was a very good facility. They’re apartments. They cook all the food. They have a dining room, and you do all the eating there. The dining room was very large. They have a separate place just for the family instead of eating in the dining room. There’s a room off the side that you can reserve for an event. They have a lot of things for you. They even have a swimming pool for recreation and an exercise room for all those stuff.

My mom has lived there indepentently for 10 years. The facility is immaculate and has remained that way. There is very little turnover and the employees are trustworthy. That says a lot. Mom does not always like the food but it is a wonderful, clean, positive, safe place...and I thank God for it!

I had visited Emerald Bay. I liked its proximity to where I lived, which was like a mile away. It was very clean and beautiful. The employees were very nice. I had nothing negative to say, and there's nothing not to like about it. They were great. The rooms I saw were very nice. It was small, but it was probably OK for one person. They day I visited, they were kind of doing some exercise on their chairs, and I was invited to some music activity.

My mom is in Emerald Bay Retirement Living, and it has been great so far. We chose it because of its location. It is close to us. The staff is excellent. They are all very nice. The rooms are very nice. The other thing is that my mom's room has a little kitchenette. So even though they don't cook there, it gives the appearance of a little kitchenette, and she likes that because she feels like it doesn't look just like a room and it looks more like a home. It also has a cabinet. The food is good. They have activities, and my mom participates in bingo, rosary, and reading. They also have speakers who come, and they have some shows. It's very nice, and I think it's great. I like that she's happy there because they are very caring.

Emerald Bay Manor was very nice. They have both independent and assisted living. The staff was excellent and they're all very nice. I have no suggestions for them because they have all the bases covered and if I have to go in there myself, I would go there. I was very impressed!

I'm going to Emerald Bay. They have a one-bedroom suite right now and I have agreed to take it. Hopefully, by the end of January or first part of February, I would be able to move in there. I like that everybody there was so friendly and the residents were so happy. They're very cordial and welcomed me and everything. The staff was excellent. The lady I worked with could not have been nicer to me and more helpful and is still helping me. When I made my first visit there, the chef had baked pumpkin bread and they gave me a loaf of it and it was excellent. In terms of location, it was three minutes away from the church I would be going to. The facility has amenities like they have an indoor pool, they would take care of your car if it snows, and just so many little things. When I visited Emerald Bay, they told me everything. Unlike with the two other places I went to, I had to weed it out information from them to a certain degree.
