My 91-year-old father stayed at Country Meadows' York-West facility for roughly 2 months in the Pathways program following a fall that required extended rehab. The entire staff was attentive, kind, and engaging with him and treated him warmly, like family. There are regular events at the facility, including movie nights, performances from local musicians, and even happy hour several times a week! There is a beauty salon on site, and transportation services are available for appointments. I plan to use Country Meadows for respite care in the future!

My mother was here and I can't say enough about the wonderful staff that was really more like family to my mother and myself. The amount of fabulous activities kept my mother busy and very happy! Everyone, from the salesperson, Tammy, to the receptionists, nurses, food staff, custodians, CNA's and activities directors, hospice and executive director, everyone was kind and caring. I am also so very thankful to the chaplain who helped us through til the end as well as the beautiful celebration of life that touched many hearts. I highly recommend country meadows West!

My Mother is here. This is a wonderful atmosphere. The staff is always so pleasant. The maintenance man Harry is always ready to help whenever you need him. The food is fantastic. The entertainment is always so good. Lots of activities. Glad to have found this place for my Mother.

From the first day my Mom, sister and I visited Country Meadows Allentown, we felt a warm welcoming, inclusive, well maintained and appropriate new home for Mom. She first entered Independent Living, and during COVID, she needed to move into Assisted Living. Both moves were difficult for Mom (and us), but the Country Meadows staff helped in every way possible to make the transition as smooth and seamless as possible. They visited Mom often, encouraged her to activities, introduced her to hallway neighbors, answered questions, sat her at a dining table with similar types of women, and overall made sure she was comfortable and happy. When my sister and I (and extended families) came to visit, they made us feel at home too. My Mom was there for almost 5 years, and I truly believe she couldn't have been happier and more well taken care of then she was at Country Meadows. During her last couple months my sister, husband and I spent many hours, days and even nights at Country Meadows. During that time we were able to see the inter workings of CM and just how much the staff sincerely cares about their residents and families. They were there for us when Mom took her last breath, and grieved right along side of us. They shared many wonderful stories of our Mom, and of course that helped us. It is always very difficult to loose a parent, but we felt grateful we made the right decision in having Mom at such a wonderful community and so very appreciative of the excellent care and compassion the Country Meadows community provides. I would highly recommend Country Meadows for any loved one needing a loving community to offer friendship, stimulation, security, and care. Pat Herman

My sisters and I are thankful for Country Meadows and it's caring staff. After 63 years in her own home, our 90 yr old mother is at Country Meadows. This small caring community is now her home. She has made new friends, participates in their many activities, loves their food and is well taken care of. There's no other retirement community that compares to Country Meadows!

I can't say enough about the compassion this location (York-West) has for my grandmother who moved in this year. From the minute you walk in you are greeted with a smile and when you leave, the same! Her quality of life has increased 10 fold and our family is so very thankful for the staff and the activities they provide. Our family visits her daily so we see everything that happens. Most of the time my grandmother is not in her room because she is doing something fun or eating. The staff makes sure she gets to where she wants to go and they are very on top of it. We were hesitant to take my grandmother out of her life long home but we are so glad we did because she could not have gotten the attention she deserves and our peace of mind for her safety. God Bless everyone in this community.

I can't begin to tell you how much I appreciate the staff at Country Meadows Wyomissing, they have been a Godsend to me and my parents over the years. They're like an extension of my family, so compassionate and kind, always going above and beyond! My father passed away peacefully with hospice care in September, 2021. It happened so quickly and Erin Phom came in to see him on her day off and she was there to comfort me and my mom, bringing us a muffin and coffee from Starbucks. She continues to impress me beyond measure and I know that she is in the right profession, I see her going very far in her career! But there were so many others that were there for us through that difficult time; offering me hugs, prayers even a picture that one of the girls took when my parents originally lived in Building 1. During the pandemic she went out for a walk with my dad and his dachshund and she took a sweet picture of my dad sitting on one of the benches with his dog, Leo. I'm so thankful for that photo to this day, I was so touched by her thoughtful gesture! My Mom has dementia, so times have been challenging and I try so hard to visit her everyday as I know that she misses my dad, her constant companion. I was hopeful that it would help to comfort her and I wanted her to have a routine at night by visiting her after work. Tucking her in at night is special to both of us. There have been times when I couldn't be there and when that happens, I know that she is in good hands and that the staff is always looking out for her. It comforts me to know that she is safe and secure there. From the minute that you walk in the front door you're greeted warmly by the receptionists, the nursing staff, the assistants, as well as the dining room staff! From the bottom of my heart, I am so thankful for the staff of Country Meadows Wyomissing, thank you for all that you do to help us during a difficult time as our loved one's age out of the comforts of their homes. You have made life so much easier on us and I know that we made the right decision when we selected your place as their new home.

Country Meadows--West York is definitely a 5-star place. My mom suffered a fall and ended up here in their Pathways program. Upon check-in, she could only walk a short distance with somebody's assistance. She went home after 5 weeks; able to walk (with her walker) the long hallways by herself. The staff is super friendly; there wasn't a day when I visited that staff people (even those not involved with mom's care who didn't know me) greeted me with a "Hi" or "Good Morning". The food (according to mom) is top notch, especially the desserts. Special thanks to Amy and Missy for working with mom and getting her ready to go home.

My Dad moved into Country Meadows of Leader Heights mid 2016. Initially he was in the independent living unit. As he needed more care he moved into dementia care with a doubling of cost($8000) per month. At first there was a pool and gym facility which was closed for cost reasons but there was no reduction of fees. I generally feel his care is adequate but as a for profit facility it's expensive. The staff gets him his medication daily but you have to use their pharmacy

I am a widow and I "knew" I would need to live in some senior living community sooner or later. I investigated 5 senior living communities. I discovered all kinds of things about these places. Having my own shower was important to me. Being able to see the apartment where I would live is important. The ratio of staff to resident is very important. Having activities is important. Having the ability to have someone take me to doctor appointments is very important. Reducing my grocery costs is important. Having my own furniture is important. Housekeeping is important. A washer and dryer in my apartment is important. All of the "important to me" categories were checked YES at Country Meadows. Plus I have the ability to retain as much money in investments as I can. Staff and residents are very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend Country Meadows.

My parents moved to two bedroom assisted-living apartment at Country Meadows of Shiloh in mid-April. Shortly thereafter, my father required hospice services. The staff there was kind and attentive to his every need. During his short time there he said many times, "Everyone here is so nice." My mother is suffering from dementia and being without her husband for the first time in 70 years is difficult for her. Thankfully, CM has a group called Connections Club for residents with cognitive impairment which meets daily. The members are engaged in a variety of activities throughout the day including brain boosting activities, exercises, games, crafts, live entertainment, movies, and bus rides to local businesses. The staff also has been very helpful making special accommodations to assist my mother with her daily routines. The facility itself is by far the nicest I've visited in York County, and I've visited many of them. The public spaces are always clean and well-kept, as are the apartments which are cleaned weekly. But, frankly, the thing I noticed immediately when I first visited was the smell, or I guess I should say the lack of one...... it's the only assisted-living facility I've ever frequented that does not have an overpowering stench of urine. That is huge! The dining room is lovely and, although Covid restrictions has prevented me from eating there, the food looks quite good and the menu is surprisingly varied. It must be good because my mother is a very finicky eater, and she's gained 10 pounds since she's been there. 😉 There are a few other perks worth mentioning........a hairdresser on premises, a podiatrist who makes regular visits, both blood tests and x-rays which can be done in house, dog- walking (for a small fee), and my personal favorite - chauffeur service to doctor appointments. If you find yourself in the dreaded position of searching for assisted living for a loved one, I suggest you stop searching and visit Country Meadows.

The past two years have been very difficult following my father's hip replacement. With his passing a month ago, my mother's life long love and companion left a hole that can't be filled. However, from the moment we first encountered the Country Meadows at Hershey staff, my wife and I were convinced CMH would be the best place for mom's final chapter. Consistently and continuously, everyone and everything CMH has provided keeps affirming our decision. At 95 years, mom cannot say enough in praise of the concern and care CMH staff bring to her every day. She is as content as she can possibly be following such a difficult time. As well, the relief and sense of comfort my wife and I feel knowing the care mom is receiving can hardly be put into words and certainly cannot be overstated. Just know we love, appreciate and are eternally grateful for CMH!

Their website states they "support residents in their current life stage and can continue to care for them if and when their needs should change". When you are looking at Assisted Living for your loved one, it isn't just the fancy decorated facility that matters, but it is the people who care for your loved one. I visited almost every day for nine years and the staff at Country Meadows worked diligently to care for my dad and come up with solutions for all of my dad's challenges while making sure my dad enjoyed a rich quality of life. I was truly blessed to be allowed to bring my dad back from several hospital and rehab visits and especially blessed by his final return to Country Meadows on Hospice. I know we did a great job in selecting Country Meadows. We could not be more thankful for each member of the staff! My dad always said, "It isn't home but it is the next best thing." He loved you all!

My 90 year old moved here this year after a fall required him to leave his previous apartment in MD. I have been 100% thrilled with the level of care and communication from every level of service at Country Meadows of York West. I get timely and thorough responses to any questions I have. I have quickly developed relationships with many of his caregivers. My mother passed earlier this year after going through independent, assisted, continuing and hospice at another facility. I had constantly advocate for her. My uncle's experience has been totally different at Country Meadows. Thank you!!
