Late last week my husband and I toured the Wellington at Hershey's Mill on behalf of my father who lives out of state and has advanced Alzheimer's. We had a great tour of both the Personal and Memory Care units by Michael Lando, a Community Relations Counselor. The rooms we viewed and the amenities offered by Wellington were fantastic. I particularly appreciated the walled garden area found in the Memory Care Unit and the open feel of the different areas. If my father lived nearby and the logistics of moving him were not so complicated the Wellington would be on my short list for Memory Care facilities. I also appreciated that the sales team was not predatory or pushy as we make some important decisions - something I have encountered after touring other senior living areas. Thank you!

The Wellington senior living facility is a truly lovely place. A huge part of its warmth comes from the dedication of Derrick Manley, the Community Relation's Director, whose commitment to both the residents and the broader community reflects the high quality of the facility and its exceptional offerings. A perfect example was this past week’s wonderful display of patriotic quilts lining one of their large hallways. The monthlong display started off with a reception, which included delightful refreshments of wine and charcuterie. Thoughtful touches like this add immensely to the charm of Wellington, greatly enhancing the overall well-being and happiness of the residents.

My experience with Wellington Estates was exceptionally positive, due in large part to the professionalism and expertise of Sales Director Derrick Manley. Derrick demonstrates a high level of industry knowledge and a clear understanding of both the community and the needs of prospective residents and their families. Wellington allowed us to use the auditorium for our christmas party. They were so accommodating and hospitable. They went above and beyond to help our party go smoothly. Everyone had a great time!

Our over 55 community, Hershey’s Mill, recently held our Halloween party at Wellington. There were 100 of us in their beautiful auditorium which is spacious and comfortable. The staff was wonderfully accommodating and the food prepared by their chef was delicious. They made every effort to address our needs and we plan to have several more events at Wellington.

The facility itself is first rate in size of rooms, common areas, indoor free garage and geographic location; that is close to shopping, medical facilities and transportation. However the operator Senior Lifestyle leaves a lot to be desired. My experience goes back to when the original owners also operated the place and both my mother and mother-in-law lived here. Then it was first class in all respects. Now the dining has become inconsistent with fewer options, smaller portions and uncertain quality of preparation. The staff in the 2 years we have been here has seen a lot of turnover with many well-liked members departing without explanation. Housekeeping has also been reduced in staff and quality such that many residents supplement with outside services. The value in the non-buyin operation is still there and thruthfully there are no nearby residences that are better. But it isn't what it once was or what iy could be with a different operator.

Wellington is a beautiful community with great amenities, including an indoor pool and indoor parking garage. The overall vibe of the community is very positive, cheerful and upbeat. I believe that’s largely due to the kind, caring, compassionate staff, as well as the wonderful residents.

I cannot say enough good things about the Wellington! It is a beautiful property filled with employees that truly care about the happiness and wellbeing of the residents. There has been an incredible improvement in the dining area since the new director, Kevin, has taken over - the service is top-notch! Very refreshing to see this level of care and attention in senior living - great job Wellington team!

The staff (Ian, Melissa, Derrick and Kevin) really showed team work and strength today. The elevators were temporarily out of service and the above folks took mom down the stairs in a wheelchair ! They were great and she made it to her appointment on time. Many thanks!!

I cannot recommend this place enough - I visited one of my grandmas friends here and we had a BLAST! The facility is beautiful but the staff are so friendly and really care about making memories for the residents. Our friends were in memory care and we loved the activities offered - a good mix of brain games and arts/crafts really made the day go fast - we barely noticed time passing. I definitely want to come back and volunteer - I think it would be a great experience for kids of all ages!

The Wellington at Hershey’s Mill is a beautiful facility with a homey feel. The dining room is clean and the Bistro is open daily with a variety of options. The rooms are spacious, clean, and well kept by the maintenance team. There are lots of activities to enjoy throughout the day and residents are very welcoming to new people. My parents have been at Wellington for two years now. We could not ask for a more friendly, caring staff who make it a point to know all of their residents. There are fun activities available and the meals are good, with many options. We have never been sorry for this decision.

Recently stopped by Wellington at Hershey’s Mill in search of another personal care community for my grandmother, who currently lives out of town. Derrick was absolutely amazing and toured me around his beautiful community. Had the opportunity to meet the Executive Director, which didn’t occur during my other community visits. The Executive Director, Ian, was extremely knowledgeable and able to answer all my questions. Community was clean, residents and staff all happy. This is a place I can see my grandmother at! Excited to discuss next steps with Derrick and his team.

I am so impressed by the new renovations at Wellington. It is such a vibrant and active community with tons of activities throughout the day. There’s a lovely courtyard with beautiful gardens, and an indoor swimming pool! I love that there is entertainment every Thursday night after dinner and bingo every Friday night! The food is delicious, and it is always nice to see the Dining Team and the Executive Director engaging with the residents during dinner. I highly recommend Wellington!

My father-in-law lived here for 2 years before he died this past week.. The care and kindness offered to him throughout, but, particularly in his last three weeks, was impressive. It made us feel good to know that he was well cared for. More than that, the staff was very personable with him which was very nice. We have been very happy with Wellington. My mother-in-law is still there. I recommend Wellington at Hershey's Mill if you are considering an assisted living facility.

We were very excited for our parents to move into Wellington, but unfortunately that has turned into disappointment. Many of the services that we were told about on the tour are actually not available. The biggest disappointment being the cleaning service. While I can appreciate staffing shortages it has been several weeks now and there has been no financial restitution offered for the lack of cleaning. The dining has also gone down significantly since they have moved in. There are many times that they have to do the buffet because of staffing shortages. They run out of food and sides many times. Most recently my parents were sitting at a table for dinner at 5:30 and did not get served until seven and at that point some of the sides were no longer available because they ran out. Not an optimal set up for elderly people. It’s unfortunate that it does not seem like things are going to work out there.

I love my apartment and I really love all the people in the building. The food has gone downhill, The new manager is unwilling to let the residents speak at a town hall meeting. The building and decor was so beautiful and tasteful but they have removed some of the furniture and there are a lot of empty spaces. Most of the residents feel the same way. I hope management will correct the problems.

My mother sold the family home of 50 years and after about 4 years of trying to decide where to move, she couldn't be happier with her choice of Wellington. She has new and old friends at Wellington. She enjoys her dinners every evening and her activities in which she decides when and how often she needs to do them. She is having the time of her life. My family are so pleased for her and it is also a weight off of our minds that she is not sitting by herself in the big family home. She is safe, happy and thriving!

Wellington at Hershey's Mill Memory Care is by far the nicest, best-run memory care facility in Chester County and beyond. We have had experience with a few other assisted living facilities; and Wellington is in a entirely different class. The facility is beautiful, welcoming and clean. The staff is friendly, hard working and kind. The director, Billy, is a wonderful, welcoming individual who sets the tone for compassion, kindness and respect. Wellington is truly a home away from home.

When my in laws first started looking at senior living they looked at all in the area and decided on Wellington. My in laws have 6 children and value independence. Wellington offers so many amenities to keep the seniors living their best life. From the in house beauty salon to the doctors that have office hours, it truly is a great place to live. There is a new Director, Peter who is outstanding. I think he really gets it as he has an elderly mother. His follow up is perfect, he does what he says he will do, he is very accessible , anytime we have had a question he gives answers and not excuses. Gail at the front desk is so helpful to giving out shuttle information or who to contact in a certain department. If you are looking for a amazing senior living spot Wellington is very good. If you have older parents who want to stay active and value independence with great support then I can say we have been very happy with Wellington.

As an Executive Director of a senior living campus myself, I had a pretty good idea of what I was looking for when I toured The Wellington for my MIL. My first interaction with Derrick (without my MIL) was smooth and informative and there was an immediate comfort level. Derrick was knowledgeable and extraordinarily understanding of our very unique situation. On the morning of our tour with my MIL, I had the pleasure of also meeting both April and the Executive Director, Peter. My MIL was flattered that Peter took the time to not only chat with her, but personally run and get her a nice cold drink. The community was spotless, bright, and welcoming. We saw two apartments and my MIL, who for years has hated the idea of senior living, was enchanted (As was my wife and I). I feel very comfortable with my MIL moving forward with The Wellington and truly feel that she will be engaged, safe, independent as she can be, and perhaps most importantly, happy. Highly recommended!
